Does Capello Deserve To Stay? I Say Nay!!
Rayrulesohye (Liverpool) 2 years ago
Fabio Capello is a old style manager in a modern game, if you can't adapt, and obviously he can't why on earth was he given another chance?

Because he won't step down and the F.A. Don't want another expensive mistake.

Seriously the guy's stone age management techniques and poor squad selection were laughable to the neutral like myself, but for all you England fans I doubt it was one bit funny.

Jamie Caragher is obviously not able to cut it in the premier league anymore so why bring him to the world cup, it was an idiotic decision, everytime he put on the shirt he was awfull, and got dropped.

Ledley King is talented and still good but why oh why bring the most injury prone defender on the planet to the world cup.

Emile Heskey = antifootball and can't get into the Villa side, he was terrible and should never wear the shirt again. Ffs why not start Crouch he has a great scoring record.

Swp had a terrible season with city and can't cross the ball, for a winger he is one of the worst assist ratio's in premiership history! Ashley Young has one of the best!

Carrick and Barry- why bring 2 injured players who play the same position, Scott Parker had a better season than these 2 combined

Here he is at the world cup, freaking out, swearing in Spanish? And giving Stuart Pierce an awful time lol

I completely agree. I saw the flaws in the squad before he chose his final 23. He keeps playing the same players that Mclaren played before him. I don't like mourinho but one thing mourinho brings is always changes to a new team. I look at all the players who played U20 for england but because of the coaches constantly picking the same 23 every time they never get a chance. Even if the coaches make changes its never one in the young players favor.

Brown and shawcross, bent, johnson, young and agbanlahor should have all made the team and they should have used the diamond formation instead of the 442

Indeed it's as if he has taken 2 steps forward and 10 steps back, his team were so mentally handicapped by his poor management style. And handicapped by his poor team selection and tactical uncertainty, em, , , , but he did well in the qualifying so he has to stay on....come on get real boys!

Moved to Terrace. England are out of World cup, hence no point threading this in World cup forum
Rayrulesohye (Liverpool) 2 years ago
I put it in the stands ! And do you ave a point of view on this Juno?
Juno (AC Milan) 2 years ago

He deserves to stay. Look at his record across Europe; he's a class act and a winner. In Europe he didn't win all those trophies overnight, and it will be the same situation with England, except a slightly longer wait due to the nature of international football. I do agree with you that he made some mistakes, such as Heskey and Carragher. Every manager makes mistakes, but Fabio does not strike me as the stubborn type of manager who refuses to admit his mistakes.

Get rid of the egos; Terry, Gerrard and Rooney if needs be, and bring in some fresh new players who want to play for the shirt: Hart, Adam Johnson, Young, Agbonlahor, and England will have a successful qualifying campaign, and with Fabio at the helm Euro 2012 could be a good one!
Rayrulesohye (Liverpool) 2 years ago
A good manager can manage the ego's, all he does is shout press the ball, he didn't know who his keeper was until just before he first round and only telling the squad who he is selecting hours before the game, in club football that's fine but in a world cup I disagree, how can you plan tactically with only hours before a game
Sharpoon (Hull City) 2 years ago
So he should be sacked for making the three mistakes you pointed out? Personally I think he should be allowed more time to right those wrongs and at the next tournament with more experience we may do better.

People are always trying to look for a quick fix in football, and it near enough without exception never works, this would be a perfect example
Rob12 (Manchester United) 2 years ago
What has he done wrong? He done an amazing job, he got us in to the knock out round of the world cup. Considering this is the very same team who didn't make it into the Euro's.... He done a good job. Drop Rooney because he doesn't try anymore. He plays amazing for United yet crap for England because he knows he will start no matter what why at United if he does crap Fergie drops him
Rayrulesohye (Liverpool) 2 years ago
You can't just blame Rooney, Capello's teams don't really hold onto the ball too well and his poor squad selection are to blame
Rob12 (Manchester United) 2 years ago
I'm not just blaming Rooney I was giving one example. Anyone who thinks capello should go is a idiot. It would cost the FA 6million pound, and at the moment 6million is alot just to give away
Rayrulesohye (Liverpool) 2 years ago
So money is more important that success? The players don't respect him, he said he would quit but realized there is 6million at stake so he didn't. So now you have a manager who doesn't really want to be there. He crumbled under pressure, he has failed miserably.

A managers job is to pick his squad- Fail- terrible squad and team selection
Prepare his team tactically- Complete failure- he changed his tactics every match!
Prepare his team mentally- Utter failure, they choked.

If he can't get a good performance out of his players when it matters then he has failed, so it's time to go, but hey I'm just an idiot
Jetlifari (Arsenal) 2 years ago
He should stay. Just change out the players who were refusing to perform under Capello and bring in some new blood
