I interested to hear your takes on who is best attacking defender? Is it someone like William Gallas, who scores a lot of goals of freekicks and corners or someone who attack effective down the wing such as Dani Alves or Maicon?

For me it's Dani Alves, Maicon, and Phillip Lahm. One question though, are we taking into consideration the "defensive" aspect as well? Because Dani Alves is great in the attack at the wing, but not necessarily great at defence. Are we counting both? If we are critically looking at both, I might go with Johnson, Evra, or Cole because they are really good at both aspects

I would say the likes of johnson evra ramos alves cole lahm and clichy but watch out for the two brazilian full backs (fabio and rafael) united have got they're very good in attack

Lahm, Evra and Ramos are the best attack wing backs atm with Rafael and Fabio improving they will be good for the future.

Best attacking CB would have to be vidic. He scores plenty of goals of corners and set plays

For centre backs, Lucio and Vidic do a phenomenal job of helping out their team-mates in attack. Lucio with his runs, and Vidic with his god-like to ability to head the ball.
For fullbacks, I'd have to say Zambrotta, Lahm [the best of the bunch], Ramos, and Maggio.
Defensive mids, Essien and Gilberto Silva. De Rossi's not far behind these guys either

Have to be Alves, he's one of the best attacking full back here. He helps in crossing the ball, sometimes scores free kicks

Yeah I would say Alves, but I hope Rafael will one day take that position away
