Best Ball Control - Fabregas V Iniesta?
Jabernard (Chelsea) 2 years ago
Who has better ball control? Fabregas or Iniesta?
Vonrasmussen (Manchester United) 2 years ago
That's a tough question, but it seems as though Iniesta is a little quicker and the ball seems to stick to his feet.

But does anybody have better control than Messi?

Dno hard to decide, but this thread would be better named "Best Playmaker" seeing as fab and Iniesta are probly the 2 best playmakers in the world

SergioRamos (Liverpool) 2 years ago
I think its between iniesta, xabi and lampard sorry
Jeroen (Barcelona) 2 years ago
Definitely also xavi, if your definition of a playmaker includes Alonso
SergioRamos (Liverpool) 2 years ago
Sorry dude. I meant to add him.... Just his perfomance at the conferd cups were a bit un promising
Adamaus (Manchester United) 2 years ago
Yea Xavi is the best. Alonso's overrated imo

Sir, this is a tough one. I like both players and both have exceptional ball control. There are slight differences in their play however. Iniesta plays more up front in the attack, whereas Cesc will play his way up from a little further back. Also, Iniesta does not have the same responsibilities as Cesc. Fabregas is the creator and orchestrator of the offense- which does not mean that Iniesta doesn't do that, it's just that that role heavily falls on Xavi. In my opinion, Iniesta has a bit more pace than Fabregas as well.

Another thing about Iniesta, that man rarely loses the ball. Him and Xavi. Just look at the Champions League Final

Iniesta

Iniesta hands down. Iniesta has the dribbling ability of Messi with his close control and has the burst of speed to get by defenders. Their first touches are equal imo although I believe Fabregas has a better passing range. However, since this is about ball control I will go with Iniesta

I think your answers are spot on!

For ball controll iniesta by far, I think Fab's got better awareness and passing
RonanKnows (Arsenal) 2 years ago
Iniesta no doubt. Fabregas has him on vision, intelligence and passing ability
Jeroen (Barcelona) 2 years ago
I've always found Fábregas to be a mixture between Xavi and Iniesta. Not quite as skilful as Iniesta on the ball, but more skilful than Xavi. And not quite the vista and intelligence of Xavi (yet), but a tad more than Iniesta, although last year Andrés was genius
SergioRamos (Liverpool) 2 years ago
Fabregas at his best is still not as good as what i've seen xavi do in my time. I mean. Watching the euros was a dream. Xavi just killed it

Considering iniesta's performance in champs final. Iniesta. He owned the midfield that night with his dribble
Yombe10 (Arsenal) 2 years ago
I think Iniesta has better ball control. He has quick feet and he can hit it easily with both. At the same time, consider that Iniesta has been in the game 3 years longer than Fabregas. Both are top, top class

100 % Iniesta. Fab have the better sight thou

I think it is an interesting question.

In general I think it is very difficult to compare players because the strengths and strategy that each player has is incredibly unique. In addition, the role that the player has on the pitch is dependent on formation, his teammates, etc.

I think they are very different players, but have overlapping roles.

I think iniesta is the better player, but I think fabregas, for his age, will only get better. He is certainly a player to watch out for.

In general, I think the possession-heavy, patient football of barcelona makes iniesta hard to compare with the fast-paced, counter-attack style of arsenal. Arsenal uses a lot of quick release passes and crosses that require someone with great awareness of everyone on the pitch and the technical ability to get the ball to the right person. Fabrigas can do this over and over again and is absoultely critical in setting up many of arsenals goals from counter-attacks.

Barcelona also have a strong counter-attack component because of the speed from up front men (and it helps that they have xavi to release the ball to them), but when they do not have a quick counter-attack, they rely on iniesta to control the ball and poke holes in their opponents defence until they make a mistake. Without his ball control and possession, they would have a hard time doing this (it also helps that everyone on barcelona have incredible ball control so that possession isn't given up easily)
