Are Real Madrid Destroying Football?
ACMilan21 (AC Milan) 2 years ago
Madrid are, and always were a big team. With the recent re-takeover by Florentino Perez, the club has started spending Millions and Millions on players.
They are trying to buy everyone.
Some even say that they are destroying football, and I agree....
They recently made a 63 million euro offer for Milan's Alexander Pato, which is rediculous.
Money isn't everything.
What do you think?
Yogan (Chelsea) 2 years ago
What you say is true, they spent the most money out of everyone this summer and it does, in a way, destroy how football should be because of all the buys they are making. Then, if they are that good, no team can compete with them and there isn't any excitement anywhere. Money certainly isn't everything. I think 63 million is absolutely stupid, for a young player like Pato. He isn't completely developed yet and there is no need for stupid cocky big amount s of money like that. I'm sure Milan would accept 21 million never mund 63
ACMilan21 (AC Milan) 2 years ago
Well it is a reasonable amount for him.... He is going to be one of the world's best, but still.... They don't even deserve to win. THey win because of money. Nothing else
Bloodbrothers (Barcelona) 2 years ago
Well this isn't new, the first time florentino was president he did the same.
I don't know how a player can cost 92 million euros. That's to much money for a player, they have destroy the market and players with those crazy moves of them. And the worst is that make stupids moves
PepeLePewPew (Arsenal) 2 years ago
That's the magic of football, no team is ever unbeatable, no matter how much money they put into it. Underdogs always have a chance, no matter how small that might be.

Personally I dislike what Real is doing and Man. City's new ownership wants to achieve the same through money. I think we as spectators would be better of seeing a lot of tight matches with great players in all the teams, not just a few. Thankfully it's not that bad yet and history has proven that big signings ganged up in a team do not necessarily equal a lot of success
ACMilan21 (AC Milan) 2 years ago
I totally agree.... The weird thing is, 5 years ago, Madrid had the chance to buy Pato for 1 million euros.... They said no, and now want him for more than 60 million....
Anyways, a team of only top level stars never works well together and Madrid will soon find out.
I hope that they get upset by a smaller club or something. They are not even a real 'team', as all they do is buy players.... No scouting for youngsters, and almost no really young players in their effective....
Something has got to change.

I have no respect for madrid mainly because most other teams try to build a team while the try to buy a team. I like what teams like arsenal, barcalona and united are doing. They find youth with talent and turn them into stars but madrid just wait in the shadows for the youngster to turn stars they bribe they with extra large salaries. I think that if english clubs were like madrid I would watch football anymore
Yidarmy4lyf (Tottenham Hotspur) 2 years ago
Arsenal yeah, but united & barca pay massive money for the majority of they're players

Pragathish (AC Milan) 2 years ago
@Yidarmy4lyf:can't agree with you. Barca created Messi and many other superstars. They spend money but they do create. And when did Man Utd splash out?
Yidarmy4lyf (Tottenham Hotspur) 2 years ago
I didn't say they don't bring players through, ofcourse they have both brought through megastars but they also buy big, united bought berbatov for 30mil, rio for 30 mil, carrick 18, valencia 15 or therabouts, need I go on?
Somere (Manchester United) 2 years ago
Have you read the paper later, united will not buy any players anytime soon but rather focus on youth development
Yidarmy4lyf (Tottenham Hotspur) 2 years ago
Well, we might see that with time, but its more likely they will buy if they don't win the league or the champions league

How can anyone say madrid are ruining football, they deserve to have the best players in the world due to them being the best team in the world, its the clubs who should be disgraced for asking for that stupid money for them players, those players all want to play for madrid & would go there for free.
But as for city, they are the ones ruining football, they are the ones who no player wants to play for unless they get the ridiculous money, that why clubs ask for an extra 10-15 for them to go to city. If a player wants to go city he is there for the money, but if they want to go madrid they are more than likely there for the history

There's no such thing as ' Deserve' in football. Nothing is deserve. You gotta' work hard for what you wanna win. Real Madrid could lay claim to being the most prestigious club team in world football, but that has nothing to do with being the 'best'. And being prestigious doesn't mean other club needs to send their VIP(very important players) to Madrid whenever Madrid likes them. Setting high and ridiculous fees is a means to ward off potential disturbance clubs like the prestigious Madrid, the money bags ManC, Chelsea and ManU. However, you do have something right. Players do wish to play for Madrid. But they cannot play for free, else, why's the need for Madrid to sign their players on contract? Real Madrid could simply state to players joining their clubs that they are a charitable club (no earnings- therefore no salary paid) then.

Cheers

Exactly like what I felt. They ARE destroying, no doubt. They neutralise a player's love for the club with a stupid thing called Money. A very good example is Kaka. He was giving his heart out for Milan and was with such an affection for the club. But what happened? The owners said, 'Money is hard to resist!'.
This is ridiculous really. This means they can buy any player from any club? Huh? I bet every owner would say the same dialogue if they were offered 70M hot cash.
These activities make the love and passion for the club to extinct.
They should learn to create Glory instead of 'buying' it
ACMilan21 (AC Milan) 2 years ago
Very true. As an AC supporter you (and I) know a lot about all of this....
They mainly buy players who have had their glory and who are on a decrease and then keep on buying.
That is what I don't like.
Pragathish (AC Milan) 2 years ago
And yes, I am afraid that they would grab away our Pato. I am pretty sure our stupid owners would definitely give away Pato, if Madrid offers 65M+
Juno (AC Milan) 2 years ago
I really hope Belusconi would wake up.... And stop dreaming about the money. Without Pato, we might even be in the lower half of the league, probably even the relegation zone...
Pragathish (AC Milan) 2 years ago
Yeah, Exactly. And that stupid guy won't even buy a decent replacement for Pato. He would declare Aidiyah is the 'Next Messi.... I wish we had a better owner....
But I believe Pato won't leave Milan. He is very happy and committed to the Rossoneri
Juno (AC Milan) 2 years ago
I just wish he would wake up. Anyhow, without his millions, Milan might still be in Serie be in the 80s til now...
Rockerr (Liverpool) 2 years ago
Not exactly but something like that. Like praga said Money is hard to resist.
You should respect a player's love for his club and try not to chase. For example, kaka was like a club player wearing T-shirts with slogan"I Belong To Milan" but now what happened, he belongs to Madrid. Now he is wasted at Madrid, he is not the same Kaka.
No offense to madrid fans I have to say that Madrid are destroying Footballer and which in turn destroys Football!I'm not a madrid Basher but I hate their Transfer policies
Somere (Manchester United) 2 years ago
I understand young players going to big clubs to get exposure. But for kaka benzima alonso and ronaldo how much more exposure can they get. I agree with you kaka was a better player at milan, ronaldo was better at united, Alonso, even when I look at him now I still see him as a liverpool player. No player ever gets better at the game while playing for madrid
Somere (Manchester United) 2 years ago
Most player never wants to play for madrid the money makes them say that. Ronalso was the greatest young talent out, if he wanted to play for madrid he would have went instead of going to united. Even beckham said he regretted going to madrid because he had love only for united. Ronaldo too missed united, if you have been reading the papers lately you would realize that.
First he wants rooney to join him in spain
Second he say he missed united
Third he wants madrid fans to be more like united fans

Those are signs that he is already regretting his decision to leave
SirStig (Arsenal) 2 years ago
Yes, they are, if they are going to keep spending the way that they do every year. I hate when clubs decide that they can just buy championship trophies with all the riches that they have. That is why I don't like Chelsea, because their club as a whole has the worst mentality. The same can be said for Man City, but they are even harsher. They fired Hughes when he looked like he could bring the team back up towards the top five. With money comes a lot of expectations, so managers are going to be sacked and sacked until a trophy has been won, which isn't how it should be. Look at Sir Alex and Arsene Wenger, they've been at the helm for a long time and have won numerous trophies. Real Madrid with all the money they've spent should be on top of La Liga, but they aren't and they couldn't beat Barcelona. I feel that all the money that they spend on big time players will bring in a lot of clashing egos. Barcelona play as a team and Real Madrid seem to rely on too many star players. They're now chasing Rooney as I heard. As for Ronaldo, he isn't worth all that money. Sure he's good, but putting such a high price tag on a player can really unsettle them with all the hype and expectation. Plus, clubs in they huge spending sprees accumulate a lot of debt and many of the big clubs are in debt, especially Real Madrid. It is in fact destroying football as we know it
Rzv36 (Real Madrid) 2 years ago
As a Real Madrid fan I know Florentino's Perez transfer policy which is to buy 2 or 3 of the best players in the world like he used to do 5 years ago with Ronaldo, Figo, Zidane and Beckham but he bought them one/year which was ok. Now he spent almost 300 mil dollars in only one summer and he is not stopping here. I don't think it's fair to the other clubs and it is not a fair-play move. I think Platini should put a limit on each transfer window at about 150 mil dollars.... So all the transfers a club can make in one transfer window(summer or winter) should be at maximum 150 mil dollars...
ACMilan21 (AC Milan) 2 years ago
But he has been looking for players that have already reached their peak and who are now going down in their careers. They do not have a future, meaning that they will keep having to buy players.... But hey, it's fun to play with them in fifa10
ACMilan21 (AC Milan) 2 years ago
Well, they lost to my favorite Spanish side Bilbao yesterday.... Proves that money can't win anything and that buying all of those players is not a good thing
Vivaldi (AC Milan) 2 years ago
If Madrid doesn't win anything this season (very likely), they are rather going to sell massively, trust me.

Anyway, yes, they keep ruining football. For me, apart for killing the market and wasting money without building a true team, the worst aspect of this failure is the resulting indifference.
Players that were idols in their former teams, become normal players there. Madrid fans are so accustomed to see all the best players in the world playing for them, that they don't mind them so much. Next year, they will not care about Kaka anymore.
The Coliseum always wants fresh meat. Madrid is destroying poetry, that is a relevant part of football
Pragathish (AC Milan) 2 years ago
Feel bad for kaka.
Mitchel (Real Madrid) 2 years ago
Keep deceiving yourselves.... Am sure you all were once 'supporters' of the fanciful way in which Real Madrid played at the beginning of the decade.... Never mind.... The only reason why Madrid and Perez had to spend such an amount of money in recuperation was partly cos of his political ambitions I'll give you that.... But also because of the poor performances of the previous campaign.... We' lost so many and gotten none in return (for example, Robinho to city, De la red to injury, Cannavaro, Emerson, Baptista)
Let me remind you that these were all key players of the regime.... Hence in other to stage a contest, this season, we had to reorganize and rebuild....

You claim we only have a knack for buying stars.... Then tell me what players like Marcelo, drenthe, Lassana diarra, Mahamadou diarra, Casillas, Arbeloa, Granero, Raul, Higuain, Albiol, Pepe, Garay etc are doing in our team.... Our first 11 is made up of up to 7 players who either are not finished products or have evolved from the youth of this team....

Kaka, Ronaldo, Xabi Alonso, Benzema.... Great buys which everyone one would want in their team.... But make no mistake.... We do not depend on them, we play as team and for everyone....

Higuain is an example of the excellence at the Bernabeu.... Came here in 2006 at the gae of 19 from River plate.... And now look what he is.... Marcelo, Gago, Granero, Negredo.... The list goes on....

Yidarmy4lyf (Tottenham Hotspur) 2 years ago
I agree with most of your point, but most of the players you have mentioned have been tipped to be big players anyway, especially Lass, he was at chelsea, arsenal & a very strong pompey team before going to real for somewhere in the 20mils.
Arbeloa also was a player at liverpool for a while, same with Albiol, the others were at the best teams fromt eyre countries, so were known to be future stars
