I have to say that I don't admire the play of Donovan. It's very lazy, as though he doesn't care when he's not on the ball. Also, really unsportsmanlike trying to draw the penalty. He just took a bad touch, realized it, and went down easy
Ya because no other attack minded player has ever went to ground easily in the box.... Messi is the only player I can think of who seems to try to keep his feet most of the time. Donovan is a good player and brings a hell of a lot more to everton at winger than they've had all season
@Moonshine222 Not saying they don't. And he definitely isn't the worst. But I hate to see any player try that stuff. Donovan is great when he's on the ball or looking for a pass, but other than that he's fairly invisible. I wish he had a work ethic similar to Dempsey. He might be my favorite American player if he did
Howard didn't actually score the goal. If you watch the replay carefully there was a touch from the Everton striker Denis Stracqualursi right after the bounce. It may be hard to notice but my perspicacious eye was able to pick that out. He didn't claim the goal simply because having a goalkeeper to score a goal would've been more sensational. That's what Denis told me after the game anyway
