Horrible pk.... Anyways we played good and deserved a win but unfortnately it ended this way.... One more error in the defence side.... Very expensive...
Wow, what kind of fans do we have in our club? David Luiz misses a penalty, we draw at Genk & now "Chelsea is done"? .... Guys, even messi has missed a penalty. Please support the club & players when they are down too.... That's part of life, you fall down & get up stronger. Chelsea Forever!
I have been a Chelsea fan long before any of you guys. I cannot be optimistic for a team that shows no optimism. Look at the game against Arsenal. Chelsea's over confidence ruined the game. The squad we have now needs to be turned around its a "done" team only few of the players on that steam still have life in them. Better yet what difference would it make if the team be boys play all our games. The A team sucks big time, or they are just unlucky. @boh2011, I'm still a Chelsea fan, I bleed blue and @ FlameriderX you don't need to take out your anger on me, I'm a pissed off fan like you are. It would have been gr8 to be a bandwagon jumper so I can support Man City :0. Chelsea needs a makes over everybody knows that
David Luiz took the penalty because he has nothing to lose. Our strikers are in a confidence crisis at the moment. What if Torres had taken the penalty and missed? It would put a huge dent in his confidence; a confidence he currently lacks.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. 4-3-3 system is not/will not work for Chelsea with the current players we have. AVB should adapt to the 4-1-2-1-2 formation. Which is a perfect blend for midfield possession, defending and attacking.
I'm sick of the defence relying on the offside trap, and as of late we've been paying for it dearly. Once a ball gets past Terry and Ivanovic, it's game over. Both have zero pace
1+2=3. 4-1-2-1-2 is effectively another variation of 4-3-3. Can't understand your argument here. This is more confusing than the design of the away kit + David Luiz + Andre Villas-Boas together. Just saying
Guys all of our designated penalty takes have missed pks this so far.... According to avb, , it goes lamps, anelka, luiz.... And luiz has a great penalty and they all say he is one of the best.... Just one of those days.... Luiz is great give him time and faith he will be jst fine.... Look at koscielny I never thought i'd see the day where I will.... He is looking good.... But he is indeed looking good after a shaky first year...
I'm not sure about the 4-1-2-1-2, mikel is not a very good holding mid :S
I think the problem is just that AVB wants attractive attacking football, so the defensive line is often high and midfielders don't come back quick enough to help the two center backs defend once the attack breaks down. This probably just takes time to adjust. Hopefully soon though :S
Torres just weak in every Chelsea games. Chelsea definitely not his smart pick. Torres is a counter-attack striker, Chelsea just possess the ball too much. Pity him
You might be right, I havent seen the whole game. But from what I have seen in the replays he provided some great assists including the one that resulted in the goal
Torres will do well in Liverpool, Spurs, Wolves, Arsenal(in the present) that follow a fast attack mode in midfield. It is not necessarily a counter-attack nature of play. He thrives on speed and ability like Ronaldo. He will struggle in Barca, Man you(last 3 years), Chelsea
He's a fast central forward that thrives on speed. Midfield needs to pass the ball in front of him instead of to his body like they do with Drogs. And that requires speed and creativeness which is somewhat lacking in Chelsea :S
Hopefully mata and maybe another creative mid purchase during Jan will do the trick
