Ask A Question, Give An Answer!
Jeroen (Barcelona) 5 months ago
Amics blaugrana, here's a thread where you can spam all you like, though it has to be on-topic (therefore eliminating the spam).

The idea is simple: you answer the question of the person who asked it above you, and you ask another random question so the person below you may answer it. To make it go a bit faster, you can also ask two or three questions if you'd like.

Here goes!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1) When are you finally going to visit Barcelona?
2) Why not now?
3) Ok, so you're too poor. Get a job!
4) I know the job market isn't what it used to be. Why don't you steal some money from Real Madrid then? They seem to have plenty

Haha love it

Sounds like you already know my answers to everything.

Just the question though. How?

My question though....

How do you like your steak?

What do you put on your hamburger?

What is your favourite kind of fast food?
MessiingWithYa (Barcelona) 5 months ago
Very well done, mayo-effin-nnaise all the way, lamb shawarmas (slurp I'm hungry now dammit TBS!)

My questions (before I run to the nearest burger joint):

If you could spend your day with one current footballer who would it be?

What if your answer to above (basically Messi) is not available, who's your second best choice?

What if that player had to be from Real Madrid (and I'm talking about a proper Madridista, Eto'o won't count!)?
TheBarcaShow (Whitecaps) 5 months ago
Steak very well done? Yikes. You must have to drink gravy with it

I'd say Baloteli. He would live an interesting life for sure.

Second.... I'd probably choose Thiago. Don't know too much about him so that is why.

Ex-Madristas.... Figo, so I could slap him in the face and make him have a staring contest with a pig

I will visit Barcelona hopefully within the next year or two.

I prefer my steak medium-rare. Plenty warm but still very juicy and flavorful.

I would of course choose to spend the day with Iniesta because he is my favorite football player, probably because he reminds me of myself.

If I had to choose a Madrid player, it would definitely be Kaka. He is a real religious man and a humble, classy player. He should never have left Milan.

On my hamburger, I put palta (avocado; thank you Chile), tomato, cheese, pickles, lettuce, mayo, and ketchup.

My favorite kind of fast food is probably Arby's. I have always loved their food especially the roast beef and melted cheese. Mmm I'm craving it now...

I'd choose to spend the day with Puyol.  Ex madrisista, Figo, so I can repeatedly hit him over and over again

My questions:

In 20 years from now, will you still be supporting FC Barcelona?

If for some unknown reason Pep had to leave his managerial position, who would you prefer to take his place?

If you could add one player to our total footballing system, who would it be? (Keep in mind only certain players would really fit the system well)
Jeroen (Barcelona) 4 months ago
1) Of course. I've been a loyal fan for over a decade, and I'm still just 25. Unless everything this club is changes dramatically.

2) Tito. If he doesn't want to, perhaps Frank De Boer. If Pep would stay for a few more years, when Xavi and Puyol have retired and have become coaches (hopefully of our youth squads) themselves, I'd like nothing better than for them to take over.

3) Easy. I've always wondered why no club wanted to buy Sergio Agüero. He's so good in all technical aspects of the game, he's clever, fast, scores easily and links up with his team mates very well. Most importantly, I think he'd be a perfect match for out team. Messi and him are good friends and were great when they played together for Argentina in the -21, and I'm just absolutely convinced Agüero would be the perfect man for Barça up front.
The other player would of course be Mats Hummels (or Kompany), because I still think we need a top CD with a great pass, fantastic positional sense, strength and aerial prowess, and be a charismatic leader on the field. Hummels, I feel, really matches Puyol when it comes to all of that. And of course he's 10 cm bigger and even better than Puyi in the air

Not t. Silva? Phew!

Now I just hope your team share your opinion.

If you should set up a dreamteam with players playing today(since you are barca fan, excluding barca players). What would it look like? You choose the formation and playing philosophy

(Actually I would like to see as many different opinions as possible to this question)
Jeroen (Barcelona) 4 months ago
Here's my non-Barça dream team:

----------------------------------------------Neuer----------------------------------------------
-------------------t. Silva---------------Hummels-------------Kompany-----------------
------------------Schweinsteiger--------------------Yaya Touré--------------------------
----------------------------------------------d. Silva---------------------------------------------
-----------Götze------------------------------Özil--------------------Ronaldo----------------
------------------------------------------------rvp-----------------------------------------------

I put Ronaldo on the striker position because he's evolved from a winger/AM into a real striker the last year and a half at Madrid. RVP or possibly Gómez would've been there if Ronaldo wasn't such a killer (except against us, haha). I chose to play with 3 CDs simply because I don't rate right- and left-backs highly, with the exception of Alves and Lahm. And because those three CDs are truly world class. Hummels would be given libero duties, so he could run forward and distribute his trademark great passes, and also stay back and orchestrate the game from there.

I've gtta say though, that I didn't really think about the midfield in a tactical way: Schweini and Yaya are just very versatile and reliable players, and Silva is the best playmaker in the world outside of Barça. Özil isn't great on the flanks and hasn't been doing great lately, but I like him too much not to include him. Götze is a phenomenal talent, and he's the only player who has skills and traits like Messi: great technique, great vista and passing, great acceleration and agility, and lately Götze's been showing he doesn't flinch in front of the goal either. He can possibly become a Ballon d'Or candidate if he keeps it up.

Edit: just added the 11th player, which means Ronaldo is no longer the striker and most of what I typed no longer applies, haha

Question1: When will you be sending a formal request for the purchase of Hummels to Barcelona?

Question2: If for some crazy reason you could be granted a single player to come to Barca (current) who would it be? Who would you bench in result of said decision?
TheBarcaShow (Whitecaps) 4 months ago
To answer the second question.... Aguero for Pedro or Villa
Jeroen (Barcelona) 4 months ago
Q1: I actually saw a video of Mats speaking about Piqué, and that he thinks he's the best defender in the world for being a calm and smart defender who his team can rely upon, and who's also excellent in initiating attacks and joining them if possible too. Everything Mats is great at too, haha. I honestly think Hummels would be just inch-perfect to eventually replace Puyol. He doesn't have games where he seems distracted like Piqué, but he's just as gifted, just as good in anticipating the game and positionally he's as fantastic like Gerard. Plus, he's 1m91, I can't remember the last time he lost an aerial battle and he's got a great, great pass. And although Puyol's fierce determination and sheer willpower is unmatched, Mats is also a guy like that, who inspires his fellow team mates to keep focussed. Piqué needs that.

So anyway, to answer your question, as soon as I get my licence to carry a gun, I'll go to Barcelona, point it to Rosell's head, call him a dick for my pleasure, and then force him to sign up Mats Hummels.

Q2: I said Agüero in the post above already, so I'd do the same as TBS. I'll pick another player (not Hummels or Kompany so I won't get repetitive) and it's Neymar. If that kid can be humble enough to accept the fact he's not the star at Barcelona, and if he is clearly eager to learn form our players and coach (the way Sánchez is), he could potentially be a magnificent player for us. Although I don't know if he's clever enough for that, because you clearly need a brain when you play at Barcelona

Not football related, but just questions to get to know you guys a bit better:

Q1: Are you human? If not, skip to Q4.
Q2: As you are human, you have feelings. Because you have feelings, you most likely like some kind of music. What genres do you like and what particular bands/composers/DJs/....
Q3: Ditto for films or series. Any actress or actor you particularly like seeing on the white screen?
Q4: Hello inferior animal, alien or robot. I've always wondered what drives you guys to have sex like us evolved monkeys. We find it pleasurable, and some other animals no doubt do too. But what if you barely enjoy it at all? Like a snail. Why the hell would a snail crawl on top of another snail and bang the s**t out of it? And don't come telling me it's instincts.
Q5: If you would be a world-class football player, what kind would you be? For the robots: if you could be a football game, what football game would you be?
MessiingWithYa (Barcelona) 4 months ago
I like the slowly letting go of your grip on sanity, Jeroen

My answers:

1 - Yes,

2 - very many, for now I'll give you the bands I'm currently listening to, Michael Franti and the Spearheads, Architecture in Helsinki, Aloe Blacc. Traditionally I am more of a classic rock person though.

3 - "series" - have you seen the BBC Sherlock series? You'll never see anything better on TV, check it out! On American TV, Breaking Bad is great.

4 - Acid is not good for you, dear friend! PS: As the wise man said, humans are really the third most intelligent species on earth, so the animals may not be inferior

5 - I would like to be a ball-playing defensive mid. The reason is that it requires thought and skill, but it's also away from the limelight, which suits me well. The satisfaction of doing something that's difficult and important for the team without getting so much individual attention, that's the role I want
Alexinho (AC Milan) 4 months ago
A1 yes

A2 Foo Fighters - Nirvana - Linkin Park - and a list of scandinavian songs, here is one of them in english if you like to get an idea:

A3 Films: 127hours, Boondocks saints - Series: How I meter your mother, Supernatural - Actor Al Pacino - Actress Jessica Alba

A4 - Are you sure the snail don't get an erection as well?

A5 - Disregarding where I am best, well I would like to be a goalkeeper - Abbiati is getting old and we don't have any natural replacements so Milan would need one so that's when I have the best shot getting there I believe.
(If I were a robot, I would like to be FM so I could know everything there is to know about every footballer and coaches.)
Alexinho (AC Milan) 2 months ago
Easy question. Or simple to understand at least if not easy to answer.
If someone were to put a gun to your head and tell you to pick one team to cheer for rest of your life in England. Which team would you pick? Why?
CheMaradona 2 months ago
An EPL team? Damn.... That's hard to answer.

I would go with Arsenal, their approach to the game is very attractive and their coach knows what I like
TheBarcaShow (Whitecaps) 2 months ago
This season.... Spurs.... Next season.... (for you Alexinho) Southampton
Mohammadfayzi (Barcelona) 2 months ago
I would go for Arsenal as will.... They are very interesting to watch, they have great player and make great players, and they also play some what like Barcelona
