Possible Purchases.
Monkeyyoda (Arsenal) 3 years ago
So as always throught the season we see in which posistions we could use some reinforcements. This is where (often cloudst and his scouting skillz) people come up with possible players we could buy. So I decided to make a thread so we could have a small overview of some of our possible targets. Ofcourse your also allowed to post your targeted players, you feel we should buy. I thought it would be usefull so we don't have to look up all the names 1883783 pages back but just simply have them here. Also for people who don't really care about the transfer/scouting rumours can still simply join us due to the targetted players information is all in one place. C: hope this threads gonna' work, if a thread like has been made before then my bad just delete this one >

Well i'll start off. Adam Maher, 18 years old and plays for AZ, in the eredivisie. He's a young prospect who played for AZ in the EL today. Lots of people who have seen him play say that he reminds them of fabregas and it is also rumoured that barcelona are following him, he could be a great addition to out team. He's played 11matches so far for AZ, he's kinda like their wilshire .
He is a playmaker type of player and has good through balls. I haven't seen that much of him but after this match iam pretty interested and iam going to look for clips or just some more in-depth information. His price btw would be around 3~5m I suspect.

He's more like iniesta bro
Monkeyyoda (Arsenal) 3 years ago
Yup kinda true, his dribbling is probebly his best attribute, but having an iniesta in our team wouldn't do any harm
Cloudst 3 years ago
Lol I highly doubt this move is happening hearing AZ want 20 million for straight off the bat. Barcelona are really interested in getting him
Monkeyyoda (Arsenal) 3 years ago
20million? That's just unreal. If Barcelona wanna waste 20million on him be my guest
Cloudst 3 years ago
Lol it was the same thing with hazard
Cloudst 3 years ago
Wow I watched Maher play and he scored LMAO

He's a freaking excellent player he actually might have a future in a bigger league. He's a bit small though and not much of fighter for the ball. But his creativity on the ball makes up for that
Monkeyyoda (Arsenal) 3 years ago
In holland lots of football magazine's are full of him I do wonder (if we did get him) How he would cope since he doesn't look physiclly stron enough, but then again he's still young and has alot of potential
Cloudst 3 years ago
You can go on and on and on about this in threads but I like it

This my dream thread for me, in which my scouting skills can shine *starts getting a tear in his eye*

So i'll start off with our main target imo

Marvin Martin and Xherdan Shaqiri

This is the one that has been bought up over and over and over and over again. Some ppl may be like ok I'll join the hype train since they are good players, but this is a false interpretation I know most of you don't know them cause you don't follow the swiss league or the Ligue 1 for that matter but having watched the two i'll give you a basic round up OF WHY they're so wanted at the club.

Marvin Martin:

We've been missing a creative spark after Fabregas left imo and this little midget can provide that and more (I say midget cause that's how I roll ) he's soooooo damn good at providing the passes that even the crappiest of players can look world class when playing with him. (doesn't necessarily mean they'll be good if they're finishing is crap right bendtner ) anyways he just knows where to find the players and he has a fantastic shot as well. He's all rounded player that takes control of the midfield like no other player you've seen before. Some issues that may arise with him is adapting to the EPL but I think he's a bit of muscle bag so he'll adjust fine. And with French players in our squad already I think he'll adapt right away and be good friends with Wilshere (lol Martin is known to be quite a funny person and is the guy that keeps the team loose).

Xherdan Shaqiri:

Threk's other half he's in love with this guy and for good reason too he's a such a talented player and he never backs away from anything. He's a got a tough solid attitude that always focuses on one thing and one thing only.... And that's to win the game no matter what. Apart from his attitude he brings excellent crossing, dribbling, and very good shooting as well. He's the winger we've been looking for imo and definitely gives gervinho more competition. He's a bit of an asshole though attitude problems and what not but if we get him wow that'd be quite the achievement cause when we need to win the game and need someone on he'll be the one we can rely on cause he brings a constant pace that he'll never stop fighting for the ball.

More targets will come soon just need to get my mind on the right one's
PeterzeGooner (Arsenal) 3 years ago
Jan vertonghen...... We need a left back who looks like he actually likes defending and we have been linked with this guy for a long time(rumor is he is on top of arsene wenger's shortlist) Link: www.metro.co.uk/sport/football/880142-jan-vertongh... Both our current left backs would make better wingers so he is a possible purchase. How good is he well I don't see much of a difference between him and vermaelen sometimes. I really think this boy will answer all our defensive problems.

In short we need a fighter like him he will blend well with out style
Cloudst 3 years ago
If you looking for a fighter look no further than Nick Viergever
Redhertz (Arsenal) 3 years ago
Both would be fantastic!
Deffyduck (Arsenal) 3 years ago
I've wanted Vertonghen for ages, him and Vermaelen would be awesome together
PeterzeGooner (Arsenal) 3 years ago
Rather than going for an abroad player we could consider getting a great EPL player to join the squad. Someone like Demba Ba would be a hell of a replacement for Chamakh, former gunner larsson would also be a good addition to our midfield with his excellent accuracy and incredible shooting power and finally Adam johnson who has been playing well but with city's massive squad he may feel he will not be getting as many games there as he would here, the guy is creative and tricky. Players with EPL experience do not need time to adjust. And we are seeing a good example in Arteta a player who has not been at his best but still performs well due to his EPL experience
Cloudst 3 years ago
Man we coulda got Demba Ba (I even suggested it) when he was at Hoffenheim. I knew by the way he played he woulda made awesome impact in the EPL. Oh well we got chamakh the giraffe
Cloudst 3 years ago
So it seems Granero is on the verge of becoming a gunner. I personally think this is an awesome move since jack is out for the rest of the season
GUNNERPERA (Arsenal) 3 years ago
Great back up for wilshere. I thought him and Vidal were the best possible choices. But now Vidal is in Juve so Granero it is! Lol
GUNNERPERA (Arsenal) 3 years ago
Great idea fot a thread!

Looks like we're looking at Raul Albiol and Granero from Real Madrid. (22 mil bid for bith)

Marco Reus (17 mil)

Podolski (23 mil)
Cloudst 3 years ago
I freaking hate albiol he's so useless at RM

He'll be like squllaci imo but he's only 25 so wenger could probably work out something
Monkeyyoda (Arsenal) 3 years ago
Albiol please.... No.... Same with podolski I just don't think they would cut it, BUT if we do get them I hope they prove me different
GUNNERPERA (Arsenal) 3 years ago
Yea I don't like albiol either. But we are being linked with him.

I wouldnt mind podolski if arshavin leaves. Imagine having 2 of the most powerful left footers ever in our attack
Monkeyyoda (Arsenal) 3 years ago
Well if its podolski of Arshavin I would consider it, but if arshavin stays then no.
PeterzeGooner (Arsenal) 3 years ago
Not Albiol. I think we are covered at CB. As for Podolski am at 50-50
Cloudst 3 years ago
Keisuke Honda

Since Alan Dzagoev has taken the starting CAM job and Honda looking increasingly likely to leave might as well bring this up. He's a fantastic playmaker and known for a prolific dead ball specialist. He would be good with us he has great vision and movement. Predicted price 15 million
Monkeyyoda (Arsenal) 3 years ago
Didn't he play in the eredivisie before?
Cloudst 3 years ago
Yep VVV venlo they produce the best Japanese players imo

They have Maya Yoshida and some other impressive Japanese players. Honda was their best creation, he's still class till this but his talent is being wasted at CSKA imo
Monkeyyoda (Arsenal) 3 years ago
How old is he now? Iam geussing like 23~24? And another set piece specialist would be wicked if RVP isn't playing
Cloudst 3 years ago
Yep he is 25 I think he'd fit in straight away. He's like the BEST at set pieces. He's a damn good set piece specialist and on top of that he's soooo good creatively
Monkeyyoda (Arsenal) 3 years ago
Cloudst 3 years ago
I like this one better
IVTEC (Arsenal) 3 years ago
Dam that long shot at 1:18 is so sweet. He'd fit right in with our squad
Monkeyyoda (Arsenal) 3 years ago
I was thinking and he would be wicked to have. This means we could also shoot from outside the box more often, And his dribbling is top-notch. Ok I vote +1 for Honda
Cloudst 3 years ago
Marco Reus vs Koln

Decided to change the video so you can see all his skillz
Emmetwb (Arsenal) 3 years ago
Nicknamed "Rolls Reus"    This guy is heavily tipped to go to Munich though
Cloudst 3 years ago
Bayern are denying that they'll move for him

Link: blogs.bettor.com/Jupp-Heynckes-denies-Marco-Reus-a...

We're being heavily linked with Rolls Reus
GUNNERPERA (Arsenal) 3 years ago
Too bad wenger said he is not buying any strikers
Cloudst 3 years ago
He can play as a CAM too
GUNNERPERA (Arsenal) 3 years ago
I did not know that lol. Thanks cloudst
Cloudst 3 years ago
Things you'll notice in Reus's play is that he tracks back fantastically and not only that his pace makes him a nuisence to deal with
Monkeyyoda (Arsenal) 3 years ago
Stamina! C:
[account-removed] 2 years ago
He looks to me a hard working player. Good center of gravity but he needs to improve his passing accuracy imo
GUNNERPERA (Arsenal) 3 years ago
Recent rumors are:

Alexandre Pato from AC Milan. 18 mil plus Arshavin

Kevin Grosskreutz; Borussia Dortmund, no transfer fee mentioned. (probably around 15 mil)

Marco Reus; Borussia Mönchengladbach, 18 mil release clause
Monkeyyoda (Arsenal) 3 years ago
Pato I doubt that's gonna' happen, I would Love it but I just don't see it happening ><
Kevin : mhhh.... I dunno from one side yes please, but from the other side its blah
Reus : -looks up-
GUNNERPERA (Arsenal) 3 years ago
Yea I'm not that impressed by Kevin either. I'd prefer somebody else
Cloudst 3 years ago
Andy Polo

We're trying to sign him but he's really stingy -____-

Age:17
Position:striker
We've been scouting him for a while IMO he's like Joel Campbell
Monkeyyoda (Arsenal) 3 years ago
Won't we have alot of young strikers then? Ofc I know not all are going to be garranteed a first spot but with freeman, campbell, afobe(?) and then walcott wanting to play that posistion it would be ALOT of compitition. And if we also get reus I doubt wenger would buy another young striker.
But the kid looks good, sharp eye for goal and plenty of speed, he looks promissing
Cloudst 3 years ago
He's 17 I doubt he'd be bought in the first team he's a long term project
Monkeyyoda (Arsenal) 3 years ago
Yup true good point, mh but still, I don't feel we if we did get reus, we wouldn't need polo and visa versa O;
Cloudst 3 years ago
Reus wouldn't be a long term project and remember that Reus is a CAM/Striker so
Monkeyyoda (Arsenal) 3 years ago
How old is Reus then? O: Ah cool he can also play there
Cloudst 3 years ago
Reus is 22
Cloudst 3 years ago
:/
Monkeyyoda (Arsenal) 3 years ago
Really?! I was thinking like 19ish mabye 20? Mh okido, that changes it ye why the :/ face? Oh. Oh
GUNNERPERA (Arsenal) 3 years ago
Add to that list, we still got Vela.
Cloudst 3 years ago
Who I think is gonna' be sold sorry vela but your to low in pecking order now
Monkeyyoda (Arsenal) 3 years ago
But Vela could bring us some money which would be nice. Kinda hoping bendy gets sold. Then we could get reus and our attacking power would be nice with Chammy, park, RVP and Reus. Including the youngsters devolping
Cloudst 3 years ago
Chammy needs to go on loan and sort his mind out park needs more games and so we'd be left with in this order if we get Reus:

1. RVP
T2. Reus/Park/Chammy
3. Afobe/Walcott
4. Freeman/Joel Campbell
5. Chuba Akpom (way to early but should be considered as well)
Monkeyyoda (Arsenal) 3 years ago
You would rate Afobe above freeman? O: I thought you said freeman was the english messi? Haha Tbh iam not to sure about JC and if he could become one of our main strikers. But then again I haven't seen that many matches of him.
On the park and Chammy thing, I felt they are more suited in a 4-4-2 role with 2 strikers. Since park has the abilitie to get past defenders while chammy the abilitie to hold the ball
Cloudst 3 years ago
Yeah the reason behind that is because Afobe had a successful loan spell and Freeman has yet to do that. Whatever Freeman has done he's done st the reserve level so that's why :S JC is gonna' be as good a signing as RVP was for us if his development doesn't have a hiccup along the way. He's scoring at will at Lorient and he's doing it well props to gourcuff for helping him develop but I believe JC will be huge for us

We'll see about park and chammy cause currently they need more time and in a sense adapting to the team :S
Monkeyyoda (Arsenal) 3 years ago
Has afobe had an EPL loan? O: Haha I hope what you said about JC was right, atleast he's scoring goals ^^
Chammy has shown he is able to do it last season, and park just needs some more matches yea
Cloudst 3 years ago
Nope but he was successful in that one loan to huddersfield I think it was :S yeah scoring goals is important he looks like a poacher imo everyone he gets into the box he seems to know where the net is

Yeah I hope those two find form they've been frustrating to say the least
PeterzeGooner (Arsenal) 3 years ago
Hey guy's apparently Bassong is on Wenger's shortlist, I don't really trust the article I read this from so I won't bother posting it. But do you think he is good enough to be a gunner?
Monkeyyoda (Arsenal) 3 years ago
Could you pretty please still post the artical? C:
Cloudst 3 years ago
No he's not good for spurs he's not good for us end of story
PeterzeGooner (Arsenal) 3 years ago
Deffyduck (Arsenal) 3 years ago
This is my own personal wish: Gabriel Agbonlahor

The guy was class a few seasons ago then seemed to lose his edge after some injury problems, but he's clearly been in the gym bulking up (I remember reading an article online where one of his managers, possibly McLeish, said he's getting too stocky) making him a powerful strike partner for RvP.

This season he's found his old self again and has been excellent when deployed in a slightly wider position, but we all know the guy can finish. I can imagine him as a ST with RvP behind him in the free role. I know he's a local Villa boy, but if Wenger got him he'd be buying a relatively young English striker with years of PL experience and I think Wilshere, Ramsey and Arteta can unlock defences with some slick passing and his pace will terrify the opposition.

What do you think?
Cloudst 3 years ago
Gabby is gonna' have the English premium on him and besides that he's been a little inconsistent IMO but he's a good player but 30-40 million due to English premium
GUNNERPERA (Arsenal) 3 years ago
I don't think he'll cost that much on gabby cloudst. 20-25 mil should be right
Cloudst 3 years ago
English premium he's their best player along with bent he'll cost a lot ino
GUNNERPERA (Arsenal) 3 years ago
Well downing cost liverpool 20 mil and he was equally as important as agbonlahor is to them right now.  30-40 seems over the top
Cloudst 3 years ago
They have Albrighton which is why they sold downing if they didn't have him they wouldn't have definitely sold him that's guaranteed. Albrighton is better than downing either way
GUNNERPERA (Arsenal) 3 years ago
I will bet if agbonlahor were to leave he would leave for less than 30 mil. How much you wanna lose cloudst lol
Cloudst 3 years ago
You mean win how about a sig bet
Cloudst 3 years ago
Mateo Kovacic

Age:16
Position: CM
Club: Dinamo Zagreb

We've been interested in this kid for a while he's already (yes at 16) a regular for Zagreb but they've turned down a lot of bids for him. IMO he'll be a good signing if we get him:

His maturity on the ball is amazing I like this kid hopefully we sign him
Thirteengoals (Arsenal) 3 years ago
I wondered when his name would show up
GUNNERPERA (Arsenal) 3 years ago
New Rumors....

Seems like we are really interested in Hugo Rodallega, but so is Liverpool, Juventus, and Everton.
I really hope we don't get him, he's horrible. (coming from a colombian trust me he's not good enough for arsenal.)

Andreas Beck: TSG Hoffenheim, plays RB position; 12 mil price tag
Cloudst 3 years ago
Beck *puke*
GUNNERPERA (Arsenal) 3 years ago
Lol I never seen him play.... Is he really that bad? Lol
Cloudst 3 years ago
God he's horrible idk why we're going for him t___t
Cloudst 3 years ago
Jefferson Farfan

Team: Schalke
Position: Winger/Second Striker
Age:27

He's being linked with a swap deal with arshavin but he's available for only 3 million. Probably schalkes best player when's he's on the pitch he's built like a tank and bombs down the wing and works hard for every ball. Delivers crosses, shoots well and has a good awareness of the game. He'll adapt to the EPL just cause of build imo

GUNNERPERA (Arsenal) 3 years ago
I don't like Farfan that much. We need better quality than that if its to replace arshavin
Thirteengoals (Arsenal) 3 years ago
I still take arshavin over farfan
