Is that a 4-3-3 with Song holding back and theo/gerv on the wings? If it is, I bloody love it! Take not Arsene, this is what we want
Redhertz (Arsenal) 2 years ago
This one is great. Probably will be one of my Fifa 12 line ups!

Haha what a fail ! Don't know why it's in such a weird order
Deffyduck (Arsenal) 2 years ago
I'm gonna' risk the wrath of some fans here by saying we shouldn't have RvP up front with this 4-5-1 system. Before anyone goes all rise-of-the-planet-of-the-apes on my ass, let me give my reasons.

1 - with wide players delivering crosses, we need a bigger aerial threat (in the mould of Chamakh) to get his head on it, and Robin is so much better with his feet.
2 - he also loves to drop a bit deeper, (like Rooney does) and link play, but then I notice he is often found missing when the ball does get delivered into the box.

If Wenger persists with this 4-5-1 I'd rather see a target man who can win the ball in the air and hold the ball up, and have Robin playing off him like this:

---------------------Tex------------------
Sagna--Merts--Vermaelen--Santos

-------Frimpong--Wilshere--------

Walcott-------------------------------Gervinho

-------------------v. Persie-------------------
-------------------Chamakh--------------------

Or keep Robin up front, but pair him with someone and use 4 in the midfield. We're not renowned for launching balls into the box, and Wenger is a massive advocate of intricate footwork and a passing game, so I wouldn'tset my team out with wide wingers and a lone striker. I'd want to see a 4-4-2 like this, and pick any 2 of the listed players in CM:

---------------------Tex------------------
Sagna--Merts--Vermaelen--Santos/gibbs

Walcott--Arteta/Ramsey/Song/Wilshere/Frimpong--Gibbs/Santos

-------Park/Chamakh/Arshavin---v. Persie-----

Unfortunately theres no way to get my favourite XI on the pitch in their preferred positions, but I'm sick of seeing Arshavin wasted out on the wings, he is so much more dangerous as a ss/cf behind the main ST.

Any thoughts?

Redhertz (Arsenal) 2 years ago
Walcott isn't a great crosser and I haven't seen much of Gervinho to say really. So I don't see the need for an aerial threat. But we do need someone up with RVP so he's not on his own. Perhaps a 4-4-2 like this:

----------------tex----------------

Sagna-----Merts-----Vermz----Santos

Walcott---Wilshere---Song---Gervinho

--------Park(or even Arteta)--------
--------------rvp-------------------

Either way your right about having someone with RVP!
Deffyduck (Arsenal) 2 years ago
It feels like Chamkh is a bit of a wasted player.... When we signed him, he was supposed to give us a new dimension, namely heading prescence but our gameplay doesn't compliment his ability, so maybe Wenger will use Chamakh in the domestic cup comps with players like Ox/Miyachi putting crosses in
Redhertz (Arsenal) 2 years ago
He is a bit of a waste, but only because were not playing him correctly. It is a shame really as he can't improve as he doesn't really get any playing time
Nkrumah (Arsenal) 2 years ago

Barsenal23 (Arsenal) 2 years ago
@deffyduck. Don't you realise that these arsenal players are the worst when it comes to making crosses in the box. Until we get then to do so. Chamack will never shin because that's the demension we true lack, and he is the best at headers
Deffyduck (Arsenal) 2 years ago
I had planned 1 massive post but I'll split it up into sections so its easier to comment on/make suggestions.

I'd like to see this first one used for 'big' games against the top teams in England and Europe e. G against the Manchester clubs, Chelsea, Liverpool, RM, Barca, Milans etc

--------------------Szczesny--------------------

Sagna----Mertesacker----Vermaelen----Gibbs

---------------Song--Wilshere---------------

---Walcott-------------------------Gervinho---

--------------------Arteta--------------------

-------------------v. Persie-------------------

I've chosen Gibbs for LB over Santos because despite his age, he has more experience in this league and with this team than does Santos and I think the more he plays, the better he'll get.

Deffyduck (Arsenal) 2 years ago
In the premier league theres no such thing as an easy game, but if you count the aforementioned teams as the 'creme', then I'd like to see Wenger utilise Chamakh and Arshavin in other games more, in a lineup that might look like this:

--------------------Szczesny--------------------

Sagna----Mertesacker----Vermaelen----Gibbs

---------------Song--Wilshere---------------

---Ox/Walcott------------------------v. Persie---

--------------------Arshavin--------------------

-------------------Chamakh-------------------

Chamakh started so well when he first joined us but he'd always had a winter break in France, so he obviously struggled for fitness around November/December which unfortunately coincided with the return of RvP, and lets be honest, nobody would leave Robin on the bench. Van Persie had hinted that he wanted to play the 'free role'/ Support Striker position but that is undoubtedly Arshavin's best position so if he was put in behind Chamakh on a regular basis, I think we might see some chemistry develop and get the best out of them. When he first came to us, RvP was used out in the wider position and he racked up a respectable goal tally when Henry and Bergkamp were the main strikers. Plus he also has a wicked left foot and could deliver some great crosses for Chamakh to get his head on.
Deffyduck (Arsenal) 2 years ago
Or a little 4-4-1-1 like this:

-----------------Tex/Fabianski -----------------

Sagna----Mertesacker----Koscielny----Vermaelen

Oxlade---Arteta--Rosicky/Ramsey---Santos

--------------------Arshavin--------------------

-------------------Chamakh-------------------
Deffyduck (Arsenal) 2 years ago
For cc/fa Cup games we can really mix it up and try people in lots of positions, and maybe just maybe even change Wengers beloved 4-5-1 into a 4-4-2 like this:

-----------------Fabianski/Mannone-----------------

Jenkinson----Djourou----Miquel----Santos

Miyaichi---Coquelin--Aneke---Gibbs

--------------------Park--Afobe--------------------
