Every player wants trophies, its nothing new but lets put things into perspective if you play 5 games in a season and collect a medal at the end of the year. Does that make you a better player? How fullfilled do you really feel? Lots of players could've moved to a big club to get silverware but its not always about taking the easy road to glory. Totti wears his roma armband with pride. Captaincy is priveledge not a right! He clearly doesn't have a heart for Arsenal anymore and should be stripped off the captaincy armband!
He openly said that he wants to stay with arsenal.... That shows that he still has arsenal at heart.... The media made it look like he wants to move away this summer.... All I ever heard cesc say is that barcelona is his favourite team and he would like to go back someday (he didn't say he wants to go back this year or next year).... Year after year he has stayed with us.... Despite barca and madrid showing interest.... The true topic here is as cloudst said is whether or not he should be captain.... I say why not.... Striping him without him doing anything wrong will not look good at all.... And may effect the locker room.... Honestly we need cesc more than most people realise.... He gives us an edge.... And frankly I am tired of us selling players once they reach their peak(flamini, hleb, adebayor).... I think that's the main reason why we have been unable to win a cup for 6 years.... If we sell cesc this summer.... We will not win next season...
Nah, I think he should stay. Barca don't really want him in any case and he's an out of this world player, so why not? He always give 110% for us as well
I think its clear that we need Cesc. If you go back and watch the matches without him in the team, we look lost. We would start off strong, but if we didn't get an early goal then we struggled the whole match. How many times have you seen our team dominate a half, and be down 1 - 0 at halftime, or not even have a shot on goal? Cesc creates so many chances when he's on the pitch. All we need is more clinical finishers in the team besides RVP, but instead we have Cham. (Maybe he could finish if he actually took a shot!)
I'm too tired of this topic to discuss it anymore so I'll just post this from the June 21st arseblog written by Tim Stillman. Don't get drawn into the nonsense being played out in the media guys....
"Barca are playing the long game here. It’s smoke and mirrors at the moment. They’ll keep dropping sound bites here and there, sounding out the possibility of moving for him without showing concrete intent. That way, they can let Cesc know that that carrot of returning home in his prime is still there, which in turn will probably stop him signing another binding contract with Arsenal. In a year or two, when Xavi’s legs have aged and Fabregas’ contract ticks ominously towards its 2015 expiry, they’ll be in a strong position to do business with us. Any severance they can artificially drive between Cesc and the club in that time will make their bargaining hand all the stronger."
