The following relates to the dreamfooty World Cup 2010 game

How does it work?

Players are given a transfer budget of £100m to purchase players at the start of the season. They are also awarded an additional transfer money bonus (up to a maxumum of £10m) based on their Fan Valuation. This maximum budget will be increased to £120m by signing up to be a PRO+ member. Becoming a PRO+ user will also make you eligible to compete for the REAL MONEY $2,000.00 prize pot.

You must choose a formation and a minimum of 11 players (DEF, MID, ATT, and one GK). You may also pick an additional 5 subsitute players that can be swapped into your squad at any time. Changes you make will take effect the following day.

You may pick a maximum of 1 player from each nation.

How are points calculated?

Goalkeepers & Defenders:
Clean sheet 8pts.
Concede more than 1 goal in a game -1pt per goal.

Midfielders:
Clean sheet 3pts.
Goal assist 5pts.

Attackers:
Goal assist 5pts.

All:
Goal scored 5pts.
Hat trick bonus 5pts.
Yellow card -2pts.
Red card -4pts.
Playing full game 3pts.
Coming on as sub 2pts.
Played in winning match 3pts.
Played in drawn match 1pt.

Points are awarded for starting players and any substitutes i.e. you have player 'A. Defender' who is thrown on with 2 minutes left into a match his team are losing 3-0, that will be -2pts for that player.

How do star players work?

You can choose one star player for each position, except goalkeepers. Upon doing so, your chosen star players will earn (and lose!) double points.

Please be aware, you can only pick your three star players ONCE. The only way to remove (and set a new star player) is to sell him during a transfer window.

When can I buy / sell players?

You can buy and sell players when you first pick your team. After this, you will need to wait for a transfer window to open, which will open on 22nd June and close on the 26th June. Transfers you make come into play the day after you buy them.

You can buy a maximum of 3 players in this window.

Players bought will start on 0 points for your team.

You will keep all points for players sold upto the closing of the transfer window.

It says my budget is in negative figures. What does this mean?

If you spent all of your valuation bonus on players and your fan valuation has since decreased, it is possible that during a transfer window, you may be in 'the red' or in negative money.

To rectify things, you will need to sell one or more of your players to make up the deficit, or increase your valuation by contributing more to the community.

Please Note: If you end the competition with a deficit, the deficit will be translated into a points deduction of -50pts per 500k deficit or part thereof e.g. if you are 1.26mil over budget you will receive penalty points of -150.

How does the Kit Designer work?

The Kit Designer allows you to customise your dreamfooty team strip. There are 2 types of kit - noob kit and rokka fela kit. Noob kits are available to everyone, but Rokkafella kits need to be unlocked by increasing your Fan Valuation.

There are various types of kits and sponsors in each 'tier'. As your fan valuation goes up, so does your tier, and with it, the quality of your threads :)

What are the rewards?

If you are a PRO+ user then you are eligible for the $2,000.00 prize pot the prizes will be distibuted as follows: 1st place 25% min $500, 2nd place 10% min $200, 3rd place 5% min $100, 4th - 25th place 2.5% min $50. IMPORTANT: To be eligible for any of the prizes your account must be upgraded to PRO+ before 18/06/2010

If you are not PRO+ then there will be awards of fan valuation for the best performing teams.
