anybody there?
there.....there....there?

England fans MIA! We've finally had enough lol.
Allardyce at work with Rooney, Hart et al, to lift them from the Euro disappointment.
How will his first game in charge pan out tonight?

Does anyone even care anymore?
so the first step towards recovery is admitting you have a problem.

I'm not sure the FA will do that, but it's becoming increasingly clear that they don't know what they're doing. There is no apparent plan other than 'get the manager right.' I'm not sure even the best manager will fix anything.

the last english manager to win a league title was McClaren at Twente in the Netherlands. Before then it was Wilkinson at Leeds pre-premier league. pretty clear that football management is a dead art in england.

why not hire the entire icelandic FA to do a complete overhaul? it seemed to work for them.
The government or the queen must fire everyone in the FA. This must turn into a political issue, clearly Football is a religion in the UK with such huge revenue and prospects.

Why is a NOBODY the FA Ceo? The current CEO has no football experience, no credentials, nothing! It is shocking

The top ones in the FA, they should be held responsible for the years of failure. Woy was poor but he was built to fail, nobody would have expected woy to win the Euros or even go far that was just preposterous. Appointing him was a mistake in the first place.

Hire someone with brains and proven credentials, who has delived success on a big stage consistently, like David Gill who will turn the whole FA upside down. Atleast the fans deserve this.
if i was hodgson i would donate most of that 3.5 million a year that i got to a couple of worthwhile charities. absolute disgrace that he was the most payed manager at the euros

Three Kittens knocked out by Iceland. Sad state of affairs...

Who'd be the next in line? May be none better than Big Sam.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2016/06/27/next-england-manager-if-roy-hodgson-goes-who-are-the-contenders/
Wow, dears sake for you guys hope its not "Big Sam" he is going to go back to the famed long ball system and guarantee first knockout round exit from the World Cup (if you guys qualify). The article says Sam is a "very safe pair of hands having succeeded in every club he has been in". What kind of piss poor journalism is this? Is suceeded limited to avoiding relegation and a string of bottom half finishes with mediocre teams? These are not the characteristics required in an manager tasked with overhauling the national team.

None of the candidates in that list are any better either. Definitely not Moyes. Rafa? Hell no! Neville? No! Southgate, Shearer, etc have little management experience.

Howe is a young manager but has to make a step up before he can be considered as a choice for one of the biggest jobs in the country.

My choice would be between Di Matteo or Carlos Quieroz or Mancini.

Many had Southgate as a frontrunner, which I find ridiculous, however he has said he's not interested.
If he should be English, Sam Allardyce is probably the best option (unless the FA take a gamble on going back to Glenn Hoddle but that's unlikely). Di Matteo could be an option. Arsene Wenger (unlikely) another. If England want to break away from past failures, they need a strong personality with experience from both English and International football.
And it could have been worse...

Whos in charge against Iceland,Looks like lvg united ,s**t

England were excellent in the first 30 min against Russia but still lacked in the final third. Russia defended heroically throughout the game and pretty much had Kane wrapped up. In the end Hodgson does the classic mistake by trying to wrap it up by adding defensive substitutions, which only invited Russia further forward. In hindsight I'm sure he wish he'd thrown on a more attack minded player, like Vardy. And perhaps someone like Barkley instead of Wilshere. While Sterling for much of it was poor, at least he and Rooney still posed a threat.

On a positive note, a solid game and great goal from Eric Dier. He's the eight Spurs player to score for England in a major tournament, more than any other club.

England totally dominated Wales but the Welsh were resilient and hard to break down. Gareth Bale's opener was a strong swerving free kick but Joe Hart really got to have done better. Lucky equaliser for Jamie Vardy after Welsh captain Ashley Williams played him onside. Great winner for England though, when they finally succeeded in what they attempted for 90 minutes, playing their way through. Roy Hodgson rewarded this time by his subs. Vardy for Kane and Sturridge for Sterling. I hope Sturridge start on top with Kane next game, while Vardy is kept as an impact sub.
Six changes ahead of the third group stage game was a gamble from Roy Hodgson, one that didn't pay off. 0-0 against Slovakia was disappointing and meanwhile Wales beat Russia 3-0 and topped the group. Jack Wilshere was the poorest player on the field which proved that he should never have been included in the England squad, after a season where he barely played football. It was lucky then that Eric Dier was the player that remained in midfield also in this game. He's having a huge tournament, at times I thought he resembled an English version of Iniesta.
don't mean to hate, but what's the plan exactly?

this is what i meant when i said 'we don't know what we're doing'

i think the plan is 'cram all the strikers in.'
honestly i think roy's going to waste this opportunity. i don't think england have a plan. sometimes it looks like they want possession, other times like they want to play on the break. three strikers with the relatively inexperienced defense you guys have, and slightly weak midfield, seems like problems. especially since it doesnt seem you have an attacking identity.
