We’re growing up a bit here at footytube and have realised it’s about time we rolled out FootyTube 2.0.
We’ve been sweating hard behind the scenes for a while now busy beavering away on the next version. But hang in there a bit longer, as we’re not quite ready yet (we figure sometime near the end of the month you’ll be able to preview what we’ve been working on).
There’ll be lots of goodies, but today I want to focus on just one of them:
Footy from the Couch - a live weekly show starring you and your mates, as you’re watching football - from your very own couch.
Nothing formal, you don’t have to wear suits, just watch, laugh, cry, joke - whatever you do on a typical match day. And if that’s not cool enough, we’re throwing in some cash too (quite a bit actually, for just sitting there watching footy on your TV).
Manchester City moved to third in the premiership title race this evening following a 1 - 0 win over Sunderland. The goal came in the 67th minute thanks to a stunning volley from Stephen Ireland. This win cements Man City’s impressive 100% Premier League home record.
Sunderland Manager, Roy Keane had this to say about the game: “We didn’t deserve anything because I don’t feel we did enough to get anything out of the game. I don’t think their goalkeeper had too many saves to make did he? They produced that one bit of quality and they scored.”Meanwhile Sven was impressed with Ireland’s performance:
“Superman - super goal. He (Stephen Ireland) has been training very well, I am just a little surprised it has taken him a bit of time to play better.”
PA - Kevin Nolan struck deep into stoppage-time to earn Bolton a precious point against West Ham in a 1-1 draw at Upton Park, lifting Gary Megson’s hopes of escaping relegation from the Barclays Premier League.
Manchester United had to settle for a point after conceding a dramatic last-minute equalizer at the Emirates Stadium.
The Reds took the lead in first-half injury time when Wayne Rooney’s close-range effort was deflected in for a William Gallas own-goal, but Francesc Fabregas equalized just minutes after the restart.
United looked to have won the game when Cristiano Ronaldo scored with just eight minutes remaining, but Gallas scored in injury time despite Nemanja Vidic’s desperate effort to scramble the ball off the line.
Tired of walking around without a Footytube logo on your clothing? Well worry no more as we bring you a range of apparel to fill this overlooked niche in you wardrobe.
I found a great little site today that lets you do ‘pretend’ betting on the footy. The premise is simple, pick some games, predict the results, and see what you would have won (or lost) had you really gone to the bookie…
