FIFA Rakes in the Cash

FIFA today announced that the World Cup in Germany was a financial success, a very good success!

World football’s governing body FIFA said Friday it had paid back 111 million euros (148 million dollars) to the German organisers of the World Cup in 2006 after racking up a big profit on the event.

FIFA said it retained 45 million of the 156 million euro profit on the 2006 World Cup, fuelling an “exceptional” year for its own finances.

That’s some pretty sweet $$ made there by FIFA and i bet the 2010 organizing commitee in South Africa are just waiting for their chance….

Miroslav Klose Still Undecided Over Future

Miroslav Klose,the top goal scorer at last year’s World Cup has still not made a decision – to continue to play for Werder Bremen or move on to the likes of Juventus & Bayern Munich?

He is one of football’s hottest properties in Europe and has been trailed by many of the continent’s top clubs.

“Miro thought he would have decided by now. He says himself that it’s a difficult decision to take,” said agent Alexander Schutt.

Klose is under contract with the German title challengers until 2008 but had previously told them he would have come to a decision by the beginning of 2007.
