Sir Alex Ferguson still insists that Gabriel Heinze still has a future in Manchester United if his push for a move to Liverpool fails. According to Gabriel Heinze, he is in possession of a letter signed by United chief executive David Gill which will allow him to leave the club if any other club can meet his 6.8 million pound transfer fee. However United officials contend that the letter does not over-ride the defender’s contract which still has two years to run.

My question now is why hold on to a player who desperately wants to leave the club?If i was Alex Ferguson i would just tell Gabby to get the hell out of the club. I’m pretty sure Heinze has his own reasons but why in the blue world would he want to transfer to Liverpool??Even Judas wouldn’t dare do that..In the end of the day its the player’s decision and the club sholud respect that, just take a look at the transfer of Owen Hargreaves,Tevez,Micheal Carrick to name a few..these players wanted to move but their clubs wouldn’t allow it,but in the end of the day,the player gets what he wants..
I would definitely want Heinze to leave because his heart is no longer with the club. If Heinze seriously believes that Liverpool is the club for him,my advise to him is that he better not play against Man Utd in the red of Liverpool anytime soon.

After returning from holiday and returning to the training ground to catch up with his United mates and a closed door meeting with Sir Alex Ferguson, Gabriel Heinze has now confirmed that he has indeed brought in lawyers to try to push a deal that will allow him to leave Man Utd and join Liverpool.
He told The Daily Mail: “I’ve fulfilled my duties by returning for training and I will now carry on like a professional. I will keep on coming to training and see what happens. I have a muscle injury in my leg but it is only minor and will not keep me out for long.”
But he added: “I don’t want to spend time at the club just waiting and not playing as I don’t think that is in the best interests of the club or myself.

It’s kinda sad to see the energetic Alan Smith leaves Man Utd for Newcastle but i guess he knew his time was up as soon as he heard that Tevez was on his way.The £6m deal also cast doubts on Michael Owen, Obafemi Martins remaining with the Toons, but if anyone was to leave it would probably be Martins with rumors that Arsenal are on the ready to pounce.
Smith passed his medical on Thursday before putting the finishing touches to a contract that could earn him £60,000 a week.
He leaves Manchester United after three difficult seasons at Old Trafford, where an ill-fated conversion into a defensive midfielder hampered his progress, while he missed nearly a year with a broken leg.
