The Big one last night ended in a draw which pretty much changes nothing at all.A win for Chelsea would have seen them go on level point with Utd and a win for Utd could have seen them widen the gap at the top to 6 points, but it was not to be as Saha found his scoring boots again and the patched up Ricardo Carvalho equalised for the Blues on the 69th minute.
I would say it was a pretty good result for both teams although Jose Mourinho concluded that Man Utd ‘blew’ their chance by not taking all three points at home, Sir Alex however feels his team ’showed’ the world that they are the better side, but in reality and according to stats and figures the draw last night didn’t do much for both teams, Utd still lead while Chelsea still have that 3 point gap to catch up with.
The ’special one’ Jose also didn’t agree when he was told that Michael Carrick won the Man Of The Match award, he insisted that Carvalho should have won it:
After being told the award had actually gone to Michael Carrick, Mourinho told Sky Sports: ‘I don’t believe it.
‘Ricardo Carvalho was the man of the match and I want to dedicate the result to the medical department.
‘They did an unbelievable job to get him fit for this match and sometimes people don’t remember these people at the club.’
What the result means is there will be a better fight at the top of the table for the next few weeks because both teams have to perform 100% week in week out especially Chelsea who can’t afford to go futher behind the early pacesetters, with Liverpool and Arsenal virtually out of the title race it was important that the top two sides remain at each others throat, otherwise it would be a one horse race yet again.
The bad news for Utd though is that Saha (hamstring) and Ronaldo (ankle) suffered injuries and Utd can’t really afford to lose them for long period of time because they just ain’t good enough when it comes down to the depth of squad, i would imagine Sir Alex would bring in 1 or 2 more players in January but possibly by that time Chelsea would have taken the lead, i’m waiting to see how long the duo will be out for.
In the end a fantastic game to watch last night with Utd controlling the first half but Chelsea showed just why they are the Champs with a brilliant performance in the second half, i also disagree with Mourinho, i think Essien should have won the Man Of The Match award not Carvalho.

The BIG one is on tonight when Man Utd welcome Chelsea to Old Trafford.
Both teams suffered defeat in midweek in the Champions League and both will be eager to bounce back a.s.a.p but who will come out tops?
Chelsea
As for the Blues they had Carvalho (ankle), Drogba (ankle) and Ballack (calf) out with injuries but the trio should still be able to make an apperance today in Manchester.Jose Mourinho said he was dissapointed to lose to Werder Bremen and even criticised Ballack for his poor performance against the German side, this is quite rare, usuallu Jose keeps his criticism on a personal level and not to the media.
Manchester United
Utd lost to Celtic in Glasgow the hometown of Fergie and it was a bitter lost especially since they could have at minimum gained a draw with a last minute penalty that would have assured them qualification from the group stages but now they have a task against Benfica.
Maybe both teams had tonight on their minds.
Sir Alex has a full healthy squad to choose from aside from long term injuries to Park (ankle) and Solskjaer (hamstring).
A win for Utd will see them lead the table ahead of Chelsea by 6 points and 15 from Arsenal who lost to Bolton last night.A win for Chelski would see them go joined top level on points with Fergie’s man although Utd does have a superior goal difference.
Prediction:
I feel Utd have been really solid at the back this season and they lead the league with the best offensive and defensive record, futhermore they are playing at home which has been their fotress
so i think it will be a Utd 2-1 win with Rooney and Drogba making their mark on the game.
However the most possible result is a dull draw.
Don’t put your money on my predictions though, i’ve never won

Yet another bizarre news hit the headlines today as Bolton’s El-Hadji Diouf confessed to diving to gian freekicks and penalties, that news itself ain’t shocking but instead of just confessing he brought Wayne Rooney into the picture by claiming that the Man Utd man does exactly the same thing.
Is he blind or something? Rooney is the most athletic guy in the Utd team and every time he slips or falls he picks himself up in a hurry just to carry on battling for the cause of Man Utd.
Pffttt, the things people do these days for publicity.
In the meantime Wayne Rooney has signed a new deal with the Red Devils that will keep him at the club till 2012.
As the finest young English talent to emerge in decades, Rooney is vital to United’s chances of remaining at the forefront of the game, both at home and abroad and the new contract will catapult him among United’s top earners.
While he may not have scored a European goal since his sensational debut-day hat-trick against Fenerbahce, he has been prolific at club level, netting his second three-timer at Bolton last month.
