Did Sir Alex conclude a really good deal in bringing Larsson to Man Utd for a 13 game period?
Most of us saw the last of Larsson in the finals of the Champions League game between Barcelona and Arsenal, is he rusty? does he still have the skills?
Here’s a video to highlight what most of us have missed (unless you’ve watch the Swedish League), Larsson has indeed been active in 2006, check it out:
A currently intresting developing story around the footy world is the news that Liverpool is subject to a takeover bid by the Maktoum family who owns Dubai International Capital, famous in England for the highly successful Godolphin horse racing operation.
It is understood the club would be valued at £170million with the rest of the price being made up of the £200million cost of the new stadium in Stanley Park plus £80million to cover the Merseyside club’s debt.
Even if the takeover was to be completed by the time the transfer window opens in January it is unclear how much money would be made available to Rafael Benitez for team strengthening.
Was it dive? at least that’s what Boro fans are claiming when Cristino Ronaldo seemed to take a dive than earned Man Utd a penalty which was duly converted by Louis Saha in the 19th minute.
The video below should make things a little clearer
Win this hard fought 2-1 win againt Middlesbrough Man Utd have extended thier lead over Chelsea to 6 points, although Chelsea do have a game in hand as they didn’t play this weekend but they have an almighty battle coming up against Arsenal, and if Arsenal could get something out the game Utd will feel pretty comfortable at the top before the hectic year-ending and boxing day schedules.
Man Utd have come out tops so far in games that critics predicted they would stumble, some predicted they would lose points againt Bolton, and i did agree with that theory because Bolton is hard team to visit and nick any points from them but Wayne Ronney had other ideas as he broke his dry spell in front of the goal with a magnificient hattrick and Utd coming out of that game 4-0 winners.
Than there was the Chelsea game, and although Utd didn’t win the game they at least managed to secure a point and yesterday’s game against Boro was also touted to be a hard one especially since the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool stuttering there, but yet againt Utd came out of it victorious and they look pretty darn good contenders for the Premiership crown, come May 2007 we will know for sure.
Saha gave them the lead through a penalty (of all things!!) but they clawed their way back with a beautiful goal from substitute James Morrison in the 66th minute but it seemed that Utd just had to step up their game a little and within 2 short minutes they were in the lead again thanks to some brilliant play by Ronaldo and Giggs for Darren Fletcher to head in the goal that ensured Utd stay at the top with a healthy 6 point lead.

I found a great little site today that lets you do ‘pretend’ betting on the footy. The premise is simple, pick some games, predict the results, and see what you would have won (or lost) had you really gone to the bookie…
