Boca Juniors who were pipped by Estudiantes in the Apertura championship play-off last week has agreed a £13.72million fee with Real Madrid for midfield man Fernando Gago.
With this deal all sealed it now looks unlikely that Real will pursue AC Milan’s Kaka who was said to be the main target of Fabio Capello.The addition of Gago into the Real team is Ramon Calderon’s way of repaying fans who voted for him, and the total tally of transfer is eight with the likes of World and European Footballer of the Year Fabio Cannavaro, Brazilian midfielder Emerson, Dutch striker Ruud van Nistelrooy, Mali international Mahamadou Diarra and Spain winger Jose Antonio Reyes in the mix.
It’s firmly official now, Sir Alex views Louis Saha as the main man upfront with Rooney as Man Utd offered Saha a 4 year deal which the frenchman duly signed even though he had two full season’s left in his previous contract.
Saha has taken over the mantle from Ruud Van Nistelrooy and has proven himself capable with some crucial goals this season with the highlight being that all important solitary goal against Benfica in the Champions League.
It is great news,’ Saha told the club’s website.
‘I am really enjoying my time here and I wanted to show my commitment to Manchester United and also repay the faith that Sir Alex has shown in me.
‘Hopefully we will have an exciting end to the season and add some silverware to the trophy room.’
Cannavaro has done the double by ousting Brazil’s Ronaldinho as FIFA World Player of the Year.
‘It’s an unbelievable moment,’ said the 33-year-old Real Madrid defender at the awards ceremony inside Zurich’s opera house. ‘It really has been a golden year.’
Cannavaro ended Ronaldinho’s two-year reign as World Player of the Year after he also succeeded the Barcelona playmaker as European Footballer of the Year.
It’s good to see a defender being acknowledged for his commitment on the pitch but it’s bound to make a certain Arsene Wenger pissed off yet again…;)
Inter Milan, the current hot team in Italy are said to be pondering a move for David Beckham and is even willing to offer him £110,000 a week in wages.
Inter of course will be free to contact and discuss things with Becks since his Madrid contract ends next summer and he hasn’t made up his mind if he wants to continue with Madrid or move on with Inter.
There’s some good points to consider if i was Becks, first thing up is that Inter says they will NOT ask a single cent from his image rights and other off-pitch earnings, while Madrid takes half of the midfielder’s £20million annual sponsorship income .The other thing to consider is that Becks hasn’t won anything yet with Madrid and that for a player that was used to winning things at Man Utd must be a real turn off, on the other hand he has a fantastic chance with winning something with Inter especially if he moves in the January transfer window cause Inter is as good as home and dry with the league title with the likes of Milan and Juventus out of the picture.
But that could all be a useless since Posh Spice a.k.a Victoria Beckham was spotted in Beverly Hills house hunting, and one wonders why go on a house hunt (near TomKat’s house!) in LA if one isn’t considering a move to the Los Angeles Galaxy.hmmmm
