Im a United Fan, but I have to say that I have sympathy for Chelsea after all of those penalties that they could have had in the game that were pretty obvious but not given. I Would have enjoyed another Chelsea vs Man Utd final.
UNITED!!!! CHAMPIONS OF ENGLAND, CHAMPIONS OF EUROPE!!!!

Chelsea For life come on u can't say those thing about the away goals rule lol if not for that teams like chelsea and man united and so many teams would never have made it to a champions league final

sore loser
fukka | May 7th, 2009 @ 12:44 am
barca shouldn't be in the final because there should be many penalties..
poor chelsea but who cares,
Manchester United will win anyway…
PT | May 7th, 2009 @ 1:02 am
This is bull crap, it's no longer football. The 5th referee is a must. Chelsea was blindly robbed of it's right to beat Manchester United in the final. Manchester has a pocket full of corrupt scum bags like Platini allways hanging around to give a helping hand to them. And Barcelona is nothing but a bunch of washed up players..
mufc | May 7th, 2009 @ 1:17 am
lmfao wat does any of this have to do with united go cry somewhere else money hungry glory buying pisspot
ali | May 7th, 2009 @ 1:23 am
ok look every one, everyone wants chelsea to win so Man U can beat them in the finals again but this time its Barca, BArca played a bit bad cause Henrry was injured but they still won, i dont care about the penalties cause im not chelsea fan, but i feel soz for them, GO BARCA
MerV | May 7th, 2009 @ 1:25 am
wahahahahahahahahahahaha! Agreed with ya mufc ;) …
well, I'm sure those sores will heal in time (or maybe not :D)
MerV | May 7th, 2009 @ 1:28 am
Overall, congratulations must go to Barca for nicking that one goal to barely scrape through to the final. Kudos to Chelsea for effectively containing Barcelona though, it does bring hope that their attack can be blunted. Though I'm sure United will contain them not by rough-house tactics, but by beautiful possession football the way we've all seen and know.
Will certainly be looking forward to a beauty of a goalfest come 27th May, let's go United & Barca!
MerV | May 7th, 2009 @ 1:30 am
Oh, forgot to mention, what an absolutely breathtaking goal from Michael Essien. This lad is pretty much a consummate DM with a lethal shot, what a gem Chelsea has!
gaytron | May 7th, 2009 @ 1:35 am
Finally I have won the bet. My friend must pay me 2 dollars every week for two weeks I am so happy.
Webbo | May 7th, 2009 @ 1:37 am
PT… are you a fan? you'll say no Im not… I just like the sport… whatever the answer is:
1. The ref placed bad calls for BOTH sides
2. Those penalties were NOT as clear as the one that Henry got in the first leg… please
3. For you to imply that MAN U payed the ref… is just plain bullocks!
4. WASHED UP PLAYERS?!?! you are definitely not objective… you might not like a club, or players… but washed up?! whatever man…
fukka | May 7th, 2009 @ 1:43 am
pt, how much does you mom's pussie cost for one night service?
f* fagg*t
don't ever insult manutd you scumbag
Webbo | May 7th, 2009 @ 1:46 am
1. Chelsea fans… if you HAD won, you all would not be saying anything about penalties, and away goals and anything
2. the Ref was not the best… he placed bad calls on both sides
3. Chelsea did not LOSE because the ref didnt call FOUR CLEAR [sarcasm] Penalties… they lost because they are idiots… they failed to kill the game when they should of… to make a difference having ONE more man… They scored one goal and then… sat and waited… and somewhat hung themselves on the goal… less then at the Camp, but still did…
4. Barca played horrible, that is true… it was not their best demonstration of football; everybody knows that… but Chelsea cant play 'better' then what they played tonight
5. It shows that after the tie comes EVERYBODY in Chelsea remembers that they should attack!!! open up… oh my gosh… we need to score now, and stop hanging from the goal like bats!!!
6. The Essien goal was awesome… and also 'lucky' …
7. Payed off referees, Platini fixing the final, Man U fixing the final… blah blah… BLAH!!! losers response the the frustration of falling into your own trap of playing defensive football, of parking the bus… it backfired, and now you all dont know what to say…
8. SO go cry me a river there at the bay, and wait for next year where MAYBE, a London club can win a european trophy… and I hope its ARSENAL before you crybabies!!
RoOnaldOo the hero in Rome | May 7th, 2009 @ 1:52 am
MAN utd?!?
they WON their games and never lost defending their Tittle mate….
RoOnaldOo the hero in Rome | May 7th, 2009 @ 1:55 am
MAN UTD will beat chelsea any day…
but if barca have that much trouble scoring against chelsea..and give a 9th min goal…then they got no chance against the BEST DEFENCE/OFFENCE -ive team in the world…
MAN UTD…the kings of the world
MerV | May 7th, 2009 @ 1:55 am
I guess you're right … some losers are never healed of their sores ;)
But have to say that there're still some generally good-natured Chelsea fans out there who are objective, they congratulate victors on their victory (even if they have to cry foul for a while), great folks to watch football with.
As for the rest of them, I PT them …

Chelsea for life | May 7th, 2009 @ 2:07 am
I don't see how any barca fans can even brag abt this victory, the red card shoulda never happened but that doesnt change the fact the game could've potentially been 4 or even 5-1 already. sums up the fuking job the ref did.
LIONEL_CORTEZ | May 7th, 2009 @ 2:11 am
All I hear are gripes concerning the calls that didn't go Chelsea's way. But what about the sending of of Abidal? It's clear that Anelka took a dive, leaving barca with 10 men at the most critical point of the game.
Zola25 | May 7th, 2009 @ 2:17 am
“I did not see the penalties they say there were, but it is possible that there were”._Guardiola….
we didnt deserve to lose…. barca had only one shot on goal…and that was the goal…. if it were united/barca/whoever on the losing side i would still stand and say it was very controversial…. but anyway the decision stand….congrats to Barca…
Zola25 | May 7th, 2009 @ 2:19 am
i doubt anelka would dive going through on goal… he would most likely score …think about it….
MerV | May 7th, 2009 @ 2:20 am
Good point … and of course, now Chelsea fans will gripe about what an unfair advantage United has now that Barca's defence is further weakened (plus, Dani Alves is now out due to another yellow, right?). All because of Chelsea's players “sabotage” at Stamford Bridge :D
Never expected Anelka to dive though, Abidal's sending-off, that's really shite refereeing.
MAN U SUX | May 7th, 2009 @ 2:27 am

Zola25 | May 7th, 2009 @ 2:29 am
nah i dont think we care now who wins… if either side wins good for em….we know u lost fletcher so its fair!…united should take it as a favour ;)
good luck to united & barca…

Webbo u must be a fukin coc*muncher who likes to talk sh*t out of your mouth. I bet u wld be whining like a pus*y if the team u support had decisions made against it and lost. Chelsea played well to contain barcelona and create clear chances…while barca had no shots on target b4 that goal. The hit on pique's arm was a 100% penalty which wld have sealed the game. So you must be either mental or blind to think that there were no CLEAR penalties. Maybe the ref is ur fuck*g dad (i.e. both of u r sad wank*rs). Essien goal was lucky? If u can execute a shot like that, then your mum has a di*k.

If you'd have got that penalty then it would have been chelsea that was very lucky seeming as the ball was gunna fly over the bar, also over the years john terry has saved shots with his hands a fair few times, karmas a bitch aint it.

When Malouda was fouled and Chelsea was given a free kick just outside the penalty area: in the replays it is clear that Malouda was well inside the penalty area when he was fouled. It should have been given as a penalty.
MerV | May 7th, 2009 @ 3:36 am
hahahahahahahahaha …
Still, all the brouhahas are taking away credit from two very good goals: Essien and Iniesta. Both worthy of match-winners. (That's why it's a draw! *grin*)
I must sound like a broken record now, but BRING ON THE FINAL! What a treat it's gonna be!
MerV | May 7th, 2009 @ 3:38 am
Well, some sores take time to go away … ;)
lol | May 7th, 2009 @ 3:46 am
dont forget the CLEAR handball on pique in the penalty area which again the fking ref didnt call. im not a chelsea fan but barca are very fking lucky. shouldve been man utd vs chelsea which wouldve been a closer game.
man utd should kill barca
Man-U + Barca | May 7th, 2009 @ 3:54 am
sdfu kid. Barca played without some of there best players and chelsea still got owned why r u still arguing idiot. Barca rules chelsea any day, you act like such a fan but i bet you dont even know Chelsea's line-up
Et1et2et3 | May 7th, 2009 @ 4:06 am
Sorry to hear such simplistic reasoning. You must not know football very, since football is more like rock paper scissors. Paper beats rock doesn't mean that paper beats scissors because rock beats scissors. It's all about tactics and mindset and then only then personal skills.
Webbo | May 7th, 2009 @ 4:11 am
Zola… controversial it was mate… I will totally agree that Pique's was a handball…and Barca was lucky to not get called on that… and there is a tug and shirt pulling somewhere against Drogba… it was quite the game, and now we'll see, perhaps, quite the Man U demonstration of power… their attacking force is formidable… and their defense is solid, much more than Barca…
Webbo | May 7th, 2009 @ 4:13 am
It is not logical for Anelka to dive… but then… it did seem like he trips with himself, and excuses the clumsyness with a dive … 'hey!!! he pushed me!'
Im sure that the ref wont be around for long…
Webbo | May 7th, 2009 @ 4:18 am
Interesting logic… I guess the same one that assumes a conspiracy of Man U to enlist the help of Platini in order to get Barca in the Final, so that they could win, because of course… Chelsea would have beat Man U… in the final… like last yea… oh wait… Again, interesting logic!
Zola25 | May 7th, 2009 @ 4:19 am
theres was a click of legs both running in the same direction then abidal stepped on anelka trailing leg…. i dont blame abidal…. it was not intentional…. but i didnt see anelka screaming for the foul or to get abidal sent off…..hopefully the ref obliges the mistakes and if he does refree another match …hopefully in a good manner….
the match would have been better of with out controversies regardless of the outcome… be it barcelona wins…
ole20legend | May 7th, 2009 @ 4:21 am
Everton to beat Chelsea in the FA cup…chelsea=mediocrity
Zola25 | May 7th, 2009 @ 4:24 am
people get charged up by the manner of the defeat as it was very very controversial….. but i dont believe it has anything to do with Man.U…. in Man U's point of view im sure “even” if they had to make a choice it would be tough both teams are equally strong….
but i do think that last years final was down to luck…so yeah chelsea were not “lucky” this year….
Zola25 | May 7th, 2009 @ 4:29 am
hmmm another shock result after they beat united :)

hahahaha chelsea r horrible… such bad sports wen they lose… Barca deserve it after the first leg and chelsea deserve to go if all u want r penalties. Drogba (star goal scorer) had a clear chance but didnt take it. Shud hav scored more in open play.. so stop complaining
Good job Barca no clue wat ur gonna do in the final since 2 of ur defenders suspended
UNITED WILL WIN AGAIN!!!!!

Webbo | May 7th, 2009 @ 4:39 am
First of all, what's up with the swearing?… you need to prove you're tough? Oh, I know, you need to assert your opinion as strong, so in order to do so, you bypass a simple argumentation and dialogue and retort to profanity. I should ignore you, but I won't.
1. I'm not the whining p*ssy, you are..
2. Chelsea did play well, their contention game; and it backfired
3. Chelsea failed to kill the game in the chances they had… the tie was the end of their run, and they did not finish the game when they should… that was their demise
4. Of course that hit on the arm was a penalty. You fail to read my original post speaks of the FOUR CLEAR PENALTIES… debatable. That those would have placed the game at 4-1… assumes that they would all have happened…really?
5. Your assumption of Chelsea making the penalty dismisses the fact that that is a supposition… and history is built with facts [Barca eliminated Chelsea with a tie] and not the suppositories you place up your a**
6.The Ref is not my dad… he probably is your lover, and you are pissed at him because he didn't avow to your wishes… and so let it out on me… I pity you
7. Regarding the shot…I am not a professional footballer, stupid! the luck involves on how he got the ball… it was a brilliant strike, just like Iniesta's was but they both had an element of chance in them…
8. What the hell does my mom have to do with my shot abilities?
NOW… lets see what you come up with… let me guess another litany of insults? you can do better then that, right?
LoveFootball | May 7th, 2009 @ 4:42 am
“man utd should kill barca” … please elaborate…
Chelsea played ugly football… taking Drogba out when everybody knew that Barca just needed one goal to go to the finals, shows that Chelsea did not play to win, they just speculated. Defending with 9 players both games!! please. I am not saying it was not a penalty (the handball) it was, but so it was a penalty against Henry at the Nou Camp, plus Ballack should have gotten 2 yellow cards that game and Alex should have gotten at least one (and he would have missed this match). Barca lost Puyol that game and Ballack did a lot more than him THE WHOLE GAME… talk about fairness!!! plus Puyol absence completely altered the whole starting line up.
If a team wants to go to the finals, you go to score to win with clarity not just waiting for one player to go and counter attack every single time (kinda like the ITalian national team) Barca tried and stayed loyal to its style of play. Chelsea did not. The only way they could stop Barca was to defend and wait for Droga to counterattack…zzzzz…. The strategy almost worked but honestly (I am not a Barca fan) I am glad that it is Barca vs ManU … In my opinion ManU has a better chance if they attack well – no Abidal, no Alves, no Marquez… tough to play with substitutes in a final… Barca has it tougher, however Henry is back which mean Iniesta will go to the midfield with Xavi and make plays for Messi, Henry and Etto in the attack
macca | May 7th, 2009 @ 4:45 am
barca will get stomped. also they are very lucky to be in final
Webbo | May 7th, 2009 @ 4:45 am
yeah… I agree with you… it would have had less of the bitter valid reactions… the refereeing just detracted some from the match… again, Man U seems to have the upper hand coming into this one…
Webbo | May 7th, 2009 @ 4:46 am
Hence my original reply to an original logic…
leedonphranq | May 7th, 2009 @ 4:51 am
I got to speak the truth…i am a barca fan…the referee was horrible….he should have awarded at least one penalty and should not have issued a red card to abidal….that was terrible…Chelsea also have themselves…they should have killed the game long time ago!!!
Webbo | May 7th, 2009 @ 4:52 am
Well said Football…
Man Utd has an apparent upper hand on this one considering that the defending lineup will be a makeshift line up… perhaps they can overturn the red on Abidal… Man Utd attempted to overturn the red for Fletch… hopefully we see an open game, with lots of flare and attack.. since both teams have great attacking potential…
Zola25 | May 7th, 2009 @ 4:55 am
agreed but unless barca get the cards turned for abidal…god knows…. interesting final nevertheless
Zola25 | May 7th, 2009 @ 4:58 am
thank you! not many ppl would come out and say that….. but anyways interesting to see a barca fan saying it…..soo many non-barca fans claiming otherwise :)
just bitter i guess….
Barcelona Fan | May 7th, 2009 @ 5:03 am
very lucky to escape with that goal indeed… but chelsae canot complain.. if they would've put us away they wouldnt have to complain to the ref
Greg | May 7th, 2009 @ 5:09 am
Chelsea should be in the final, not barsa! I'll boycott the final and I'm not even Chelsea fan. But I agree with Drogba “this is disgrace” to the sport we all love. The entire world should demand a replay of this match.
The ref should be banned for life to officiate any fotball games not just in CL.
Webbo | May 7th, 2009 @ 5:13 am
As much as my 'blaugrana' blood wishes to be confident… that almost the entire starting defensive line is out against Man U, makes me quite nervous… Caceres, Milito… Puyol… Pique… and hopefully an Abidal turnover… that is it. I didn't like Yaya as back… he's much more effective at the mid IMHO…
Webbo | May 7th, 2009 @ 5:16 am
that is what it boils down to… they had the chances to end it and didn't not to detract that Pique's hand was… well… hand ball, asi es el futbol; karma will probably come back and bite us…
Webbo | May 7th, 2009 @ 5:17 am
Greg, lets not get carried away mate…
leedonphranq | May 7th, 2009 @ 5:40 am
too emotional….this is not the first time refs have spoilt a game and will never be the last time….
Man United | May 7th, 2009 @ 5:41 am
dude he is not talking about this season!!
leo | May 7th, 2009 @ 5:50 am
ok anyone saying barca didnt deserve this u probably right but then i think chelsea deserves this for playing like cats, and the only actual penalty was the hand ball drogba malouda and anelka all clearly falling were there was very soft contact, plus drogba didnt take his chances serves chelsea right 4 still plpaying that cunt
tony | May 7th, 2009 @ 5:51 am
cry me a river Chelsea…….you could not defeat barca even thought they had a depleted squad and went down a man in the game…….not to mention the goal that Essien score was pure luck………they did not deserve to advance to the final…….. Man United better look out because from the looks of things barca is prime for a championship.

woooooooooooow barcelona i loooooooooooooooooooooooove barca
Liverpool Red | May 7th, 2009 @ 6:35 am
Chelsea today was the team that went out to only defend and counter attack…. They paid the fruits for their tactics… Chelsea failed to take advantage of Barca's makeshift defence… Chelsea cannot complain about the result… None of Drogba's dives were clear cut penalty… Only Chelsea fans will claim it to be one…. They didn't even try to play good football…
Loppi | May 7th, 2009 @ 6:40 am
After all the anti-football mentality Chelsea got what they deserved.. You guys have to admit that the barca squad is superior it's time for chelsea to spend on some footballers instead of bullies… what a bad reaction from drogba surely one of the most unsporting players ever…
manunutter | May 7th, 2009 @ 7:19 am

Barca should have win in the 1st leg. so ManUtd vs Barcelona. ^_^
essien90 | May 7th, 2009 @ 8:26 am
that was not fair…
the referee was the “man of the match”
4 penaltys and he always says no… unbelievable
Robert | May 7th, 2009 @ 9:20 am
I'm not a big fan of Chelsea but I gotta feel sorry for them. The ref definitely screw them over. Maybe turning down 1 penalty appeal would have seem fair enough but come on, turning down the other 3 penalty appeals which 2 of them came from handball, was absolutely ridiculous.
Chelseablue | May 7th, 2009 @ 10:09 am
Bad beat, chelsea should have scored their chances, then we wouldn't have to rely on those ungiven penalties (and all 4 claims were clear penalties, just some blind chelsea haters say they weren't). Barcelona only had one shot on target and it went in, that's football I guess.
I find it funny that people say barcelona is the best team in the world and then they couldn't even beat chelsea? How they want to beat manchester? Barca is overrated, the 180 minutes against chelsea proofed that.
Zai Milan | May 7th, 2009 @ 10:43 am

over 3 hours of football barca was better team in terms of desire to score and win but at stamford bridge ref gave draw to barca…but u must give credit to them because away from home with 10 men they never gave up and took their chance unlike chelsea. wat a joke referee is.

it is clearly that THE REFEREE MADE THE DIFFERENCE. YES BARCELONA PLAYS GOOD ATTACKING FOOTBALL BUT CHELSEA GOOD TACTICS. AND YES PREMIER LEAGUE HAS ADVANCED A LOT IN LAST 5 YEARS AND DOMINATED EUROPE.MAYBE BARCELONA IS GOOD IN PRIMERA DIVISION BUT CHELSEA AND LIVERPOOL AGAINST MADRID SHOWD THAT WHOS PLAYNG BETTER FOOTBALL AS A SPORT NOT POLITICS.AND WHAT DID YOU EXPEXT FROM DROGBA HE MAYBE HAS BAD TEMPER BUT HE IS RIGHT BECAUSE HE PLAYED WHOLE SESON TO GET IN THE FINALS AND GOT ROBBED BY UEFA POLITICS.WHAT WOULD YOU DO IN HIS POSITION FAIR IS FAIR THE FOOTBAL IS A SPORT AND THERE IS NO PLACE FOR POLITICS.AS FAR AS ETO AND MESSI BEING GREATEST PLAYERS YOU SEEN THEM LAST NIGHT …. THEY COULDNT CREATE NO CLEAR CHANCE SO WHAT MAKES THEM SO GREAT …AND RESPECT FOR CHAVI(UNDERATED BEST PLAYER IN BARCELLONA BY FAR BEST PLAYMAKER A SPORTSMAN…) ….. JUVENTUS FAN

It's a shame that both squads couldn't be full strength for the final.
I agree that man utd have a slight advantage at the moment, but you can never predict these games when both teams have such brilliant, talented players.
Messi, Rooney, Iniesta, Ronaldo, Eto'o, Tevez, etc…
I feel like Chelsea died and took the rest of us to footballing heaven!

chelsea dint get owned u idiot… i dont even support them but it was clear that they had the better chances even if they did use booring tactics.. barca had 1 shot on target… that tells the hole story.. either way man u uare gona destroy barca so i dont realy mind hu went thru :-D
Barca sucks | May 7th, 2009 @ 2:59 pm
Its so obvious that Man Utd will win. The refree in the Chelsea vs Barca game was absolutley terrible. I wonder how he seemed to miss 5 CLEAR penalties. They were Robbed. The handball and Drogba's shirt was pulled and also tripped but no penalty. WTF???? Barca would be crying if they lost. Even Pep. what a disgrace. they are so weak. Pretty football won't win you anything outside your shitty la liga. Chelsea totally dominated. Passing around the pitch means nothing and its useless.
Horrible Refereeing.
Man United will DESTROY BARCA. Ronaldo with a hattrick.
Drogba | May 7th, 2009 @ 3:19 pm
There was only one clear penalty that was the first handsball the second in extra time cant be called a handsball. Drogba goes down in every dual, if he just keep up one time maybe he scores then and not have too go mad because he tought he owns a penalty. Then I heard chelsea players say they have been done hahaha well why would de ref give red then to abidal when he wasnt even near Anelka. If they just score the chances they had go take a look at that and stop complaining the ref cant miss a clear goal for you Drogba learn to finish haha
manuwin | May 7th, 2009 @ 3:28 pm
hello all. United fan here. just saw the highlights and got to say that Chelsea were extremely unlucky and Barca who played really lame football dont deserve to progress. Just would like to ask to all football fans there…what angered you the most?
1. Handballssss by Barca
2. Abidal red card
3. Iniesta easily going down again and again…
4. Time taken by Barca for the last min subs
5. Drogba theatrics

magic feet | May 7th, 2009 @ 3:48 pm
probably agree but just wait and c y we all call it the beautiful game i predict a 2-1 victory for barca with messi scoring both goals and probably roony for untd they will lose because their boy ronaldo will not live up 2 the pressure cause he's playing along wit the most talented footballer on d planet and he will try 2 out play messi and will b selfish in his football and dat will b there down fall now can anyone argue wit dat
magic feet | May 7th, 2009 @ 3:59 pm
i 100% agree wit u probably now they will sell him and bring in sumone who can create and score goals if it was roony who had the chances he had they wud have scored at least 3 more goals but he and sumother reasons r y chelsea will never win the cl if they keep playing the way they play BORING FOR HEAVENS SAKE BUY A PLAYER WHO CAN DRBBLE IS QUICK CAN SCORE CREATES CHANCES and the way i c it there is only one available player that can do that the man who was called the most dangerious attacking winger in spain b4 he played for a average team ok but average u suppose 2 know who im talking bout if u dont his name is ROBINHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! THEM AND ONLY THEN WILL U HAVE A EVEN BETTER CHANCE OF WINNING THE CL AND EPL .

brendo | May 7th, 2009 @ 5:11 pm
that's not what he's talking about, Alves picked up a yellow at Stamford Bridge and therefore cannot play in the final and Abidal got the red so he's gone too, tough too cause it seemed like either might be able to mark Ronaldo.
Tom | May 7th, 2009 @ 5:22 pm

Barca>Manu | May 7th, 2009 @ 7:20 pm
You know what, that is the most truthful statement I have heard so far.
You can be as upset as you wish, this is the result now accept it. To blame the ref for not capitalizing on the many chances chelsea had, is just bad sport.
Barca was attacking a lot, and the main defenders who usually stay back, were not there. Barca was caught, that doesn't make their defense bad, that just shows chelsea is very good at counterattack.
See you english fans at rome.
Barca>Manu | May 7th, 2009 @ 7:24 pm
Yet when barca has the ball, they tend to keep it.
Manu will play strong, but their defense I have to be honest is not as strong as chelseas, Why? Well vidic is very aggressive (may get a red card), Rio tends to send the ball towards his own net more times than he should, and evra is always playing upfield.
Besides, hopefully Manus number one hated player will be available for barca.. and he knows how to turn red dogs.
Can you guess who that person is?
Man United | May 7th, 2009 @ 9:28 pm
United are the MASTERS of keep ball play… and we hold the record of the # of clean sheets … If you had watched the last 5 games played by united, you would not have made such a foolish comment…
Man United do not hate other players… we respect them if they are talented…
Its the other teams who are jealous of Man United's great Legends…
We can play Any team in the world with two different starting lineups… thats the strength and depth of the United Squad… with 12 players injured in december, we managed to keep the clean sheet run going… we managed to win games…
Barca never faced a good defence unitl chelsea in semi finals… United and chelsea are the best defenses in the world atm… and united have the best midfield and an excellent attack… the debate shall end on may 27…
Glory Glory Man United!!
Peace

United have players who raise their standards of playing when its a BIG match … i have not seen messi deliver in crucial matches… neither has Henry…
The Current Man United Team forces me to associate them with some famous words by bret the hit man hart…
the excellence of execution.

Nooo webbo only someone that lives in the dark ages, not you of course, but someone that is still breaking stick sand twigs to build a fire, not you of course, would not know that this game has gone to that.. huh yes Man U has a pocket full of UEFA boys bagged, yes Platinin is dirty, yes matches are fixed (this one) and yes..”money talks, bs walks..”. that's my logic WEBBO…Have you ever heard of TV rattings? guess not..
Josiah | May 8th, 2009 @ 12:54 am
OK… so I actually watched after match analysis…
the only CLEAR penalty is the handball Pique does…
all the other ones are NOT penalties with the exception on Eto'o's handball (his arm is rising up which means it can be ruled as a penalty BUT the argument is given that when he turns he raises his arm to protect his face, which is a valid point)
I could dissect each of the other ones but I wont…
anyways if Pique's is the only clear penalty then it's even because Henry was fouled at the Camp Nou…
not to mention that actually looking back on a replay of a free-kick Belleti clearly handballs in the penalty box while in the wall but whatever…
Barca vs. Man U in the final… two of the best attacking footballing clubs in the world… what a display it shall be!
Webbo | May 8th, 2009 @ 1:35 am
yup… not the best defense out there… for sure
Webbo | May 8th, 2009 @ 1:37 am

Sheldon Lpool | May 8th, 2009 @ 4:46 am
Yeah Webbo I totally agree with every single word you said. Drogba he is acting like he is so angry at the ref when he should be angry with himself for not putting away the chances he got in both legs.He is the reason why Chelsea didn`t capitalize on a place in the final. CHELSEA style of football is outdated so to speak. Barcelona style of ball game is attack, attack so why would chelsea want to hold on to one goal and think that they wont score. Barcelona have the advantage when chelsea sit back and try to soak up all the pressure and meanwhile the need for Barcelona is one goal which they are capable. Futhermore if chelsea manager to score a goal with their horrible untidy ball game why Barca would not? It show how much of a great team barca is scoring in the dying moments of the game with ten players. They knew exactly what they were doing. Well done Barca, Stay home Chelsea. And ofcourse i am a liverpool fan
laughing at chelsea | May 8th, 2009 @ 5:59 am
have to agree with u, lovefootball. pity that chelsea was not punished for their actions in the first leg. stop whining people out there, chelsea is lucky to have guys playing after kicking the barca players during the 1st leg.
boring tactics sure deserve a lose like this.
when chelsea win 1-0, they say only the results count. get a taste of your own medicine.
laughing at chelsea | May 8th, 2009 @ 6:05 am
i don't see any chelsea fans complaining when the ref 'helped' chelsea to a draw in the 1st leg. Drogba can only blame the reputation of the chelsea players(divers) for not receiving a penalty. As for the handball, too bad. Chelsea escaped cards from their 1st leg. some of the players shld not even be in the starting line-up.
both side receive poor calls. Kudos to barca and for chelsea, even if the ref is good, chelsea will still lose. Remember, BANS are given for bad tackle
laughing at chelsea | May 8th, 2009 @ 6:13 am
some of the chelsea players should not even be on the pitch for the game. chelsea players escaped punishment for their unsporting behavior during the 1st leg. funny that the ref helped the away side in both leg.
pity barca as their squad were depleted by the encounter.
If the ref is good from the start, chelsea will not even have a chance.
Cards for chelsea players and goals in the 1st leg.
laughing at chelsea | May 8th, 2009 @ 6:30 am
i have to agree. in my opinion, there is only the pique penalty. chelsea is VERY lucky to get this ref. their brutal display should get them enough cards and suspension for the 2nd leg. the 1st leg should have gotten Barca penalty and more cards for chelsea. as for the rest, even i would not give chelsea the penalty. Their reputation as divers might tell me so and the replays shows my decision is right
Man United | May 8th, 2009 @ 1:22 pm
UEFA general secretary David Taylor has revealed an avenue of appeal could be open to Manchester United over the red card which has dashed Darren Fletcher's Champions League final hopes. The Scotland international was dismissed late on in Tuesday's Champions League semi-final win over Arsenal for a professional foul on Cesc Fabregas. Replays showed Fletcher had in fact played the ball but UEFA confirmed on Wednesday that United do not have the right to appeal against the referee's decision. As things stand Fletcher will sit out the final against Barcelona in Rome later this month but Taylor has hinted at a reprieve for the combative midfielder. “I have spoken with Alex Ferguson personally on this – as fate would have it we shared a car after the match. We were rather thrown together but had an interesting discussion,” Taylor said. “He was very fair about the referee and what had happened but equally he was very disappointed for Darren, as are we all. I tried to give Alex as much advice as I could with regards the procedure in these circumstances. There is no formal process. But if the club want to write to us with information – such as video evidence – explaining why they think this is a harsh punishment then they can do that. The likelihood is that we'd then refer the matter to our disciplinary body. They would then look to see if there were any special circumstances to justify any departure from established procedures. I must stress there is normally no way these matters can be overturned.”
Where there is a Ferguson, there is a Way… :P
untitles | May 8th, 2009 @ 6:34 pm
So you agree the Pique one is a clear penalty…then you pretty much (but reluctently) agree that Eto's is also a penalty. But how can you argue that the Malouda one is not? You agree he was fouled right? That is obvious. Can you not also see that he was three feet inside the 18-yard box? How is that not a penalty? To me that is the most obvious penalty, along with Pique's…
A Person | May 8th, 2009 @ 8:01 pm
Yeah hello people arguing
personally I have to say that this was really unfair for both teams. There was no red card. Two nice goals but that was not a red card and the hand in the box was the clearest penalty I have ever seen. I do not like Chelsea or Barcelona.
By the way any Americans talking here I do not think you know what you are talking about. I mean you guys say Mexico is amazing because it is the only team that is close to being okay that you can win against.
