it was a clear-cut penalty. Gomes did flick the ball, but that was after he touched Carrick. Even the commentators were convinced after watching a couple of replays.

Hmmm it's not an easy call. Gomes did touch the ball, but he also brought Carrick down, and it was a quick play, so it's not an easy decision to make. When i first saw it on open play i tought it was a penalty. That was my first reaction.

It should be a penalty, because after the flick of the ball by Gomes the ball did not roll away very fast, if Carrick did not bring down by Gomes he got 80% chance to score a goal. That was why it was a foul.

Everyone who claim the call against Gomes was correct are biased. It clearly was not a penalty as Gomes had gotten to the ball. Anyone who's not slobbering on Ronaldo's knob sees that. It's absurd how often calls go for United and Liverpool. They've got the referee and his assistants in their pockets. What a shame.
