I'm an Arsenal fan, but just because they come back to beat hull at home doesnt mean they can all of a sudden turn it up and beat chelsea etc. Results like this should be expected, not used to be excited for huge up and coming games. The only good things that came from this (other than the win obviusly) was the 'winning mentality'. If they have trouble taking care of Hull at home (depending on a center half to score game winners), then we'll be in deep trouble come Chelsea, Man Utd. or LIverpool. However, once fabregas, rosicky, eduardo, adebayor all lace up, things could get interseting indeed.
Marcy | March 18th, 2009 @ 2:01 am
The announcer is an idiot. that was blatantly offsides in replay, but im sure it was a tricky call
RVP11 | March 18th, 2009 @ 3:13 am
Arsenal don't need a supporter like you. I'm sure you won't support Arsenal when they're losing and even after they came back to win the game, you still don't appreciate it. You don't know how hard it is to play football. You don't deserve to support Arsenal. Football is not just about striker who scores but it's about the team winning. You wont' have good days every day, lets be thankful that they're starting to win again. Underestimating other teams aren't the way man, you have to work hard to win, Hull didn't come to lose. You have to respect other team but you certainly didn't. That's why you should not support Arsenal. Go and support other team.
Chris | March 18th, 2009 @ 3:28 am
I would beg to disagree with you, in that Hull cannot be the yard stick for gauging. Arsenal have always had problems beating the so called small teams unlike big teams. On a good day Arsenal can beat either of them.
ARSEN4EVE | March 18th, 2009 @ 3:33 am
keeper got the last touch KEEPER
Marcy | March 18th, 2009 @ 4:29 am
I thought that it had to be a pass back by the defensive team for offsides to be nullified, not just a slight deflection. am i wrong?
nabel | March 18th, 2009 @ 4:35 am
yeah can't wait till the semi final against chelsea.
httdf | March 18th, 2009 @ 4:46 am
last touch was by the keeper so no offside
RVP11 | March 18th, 2009 @ 5:10 am
They don't win against the small teams because it is football. You have to accept that sometimes Arsenal lacks the finishing touch. We always know they pass the ball very well and hold possessions most of the time. You have to accept the team as a whole, whether they're good or they're having a bad day. That's how you support a team, not just moaning around when we draw/lost or lose several key players. We have other good players like eboue, song, vela, denilson, bendtner. Except for eboue, all of them are very young indeed. Give them support, not moans. That's what's lacking with Arsenal supporter. I bet they will beat Chelsea with or without fabregas and ade.
v3xx | March 18th, 2009 @ 5:46 am
yes3…there was no offside coz the keeper touch da ball…
Charle farley | March 18th, 2009 @ 6:30 am
The Hull keeper touched the ball last and so Gallas wasn't offside – the Hull Manager can complain all he likes..his team wasted time after 15 bloody minutes..who needs that?
jimbos | March 18th, 2009 @ 6:40 am
ARSENAL ARSENAL ARSENAL
Berkeley | March 18th, 2009 @ 6:44 am
You're such a noob, do you not know the rules? A deflection of the keeper would be counted as an offside. That's why when someone shoot towards the goalkeeper and the ball gets deflected to the striker who's in an offside position, it will still be an offside. Read the rules before you post!
Arsenish | March 18th, 2009 @ 6:50 am
it is not that we have to be unlucky all the time…sometime we cud be lucky too…yeah!! just a lil bit of luck and we winning everything remaining comon GUNNERS!!!
Arsenish | March 18th, 2009 @ 6:55 am
yo thumbs up mate!!! comon Gunners!!! In GLORY days and gloomy days ALWAYS ARSENAL!!!
jose | March 18th, 2009 @ 6:59 am
gallas goal was offside ….
sian | March 18th, 2009 @ 7:02 am
I think annoucer need to ware glass because he didn't even think about what going on and call it offside. this goal is really hard to tell but it depend on ref the last touch was by the goalie and the ref had right to call it goal or not goal.
Lampard | March 18th, 2009 @ 8:16 am
WRONG… Deflection off an opponent doesn't cancel the offside rule..
Wow, arsenal fans really dunno anything about football…
Lampard | March 18th, 2009 @ 8:18 am
Arsanal fans who think the goal was not offside because it touched the goalie reply after me..
I wanna see how many idiot arsanal fans are there!

kawi | March 18th, 2009 @ 9:32 am
Why blame Arsenal's player & fans, if Gallas goal was offside. Better blame the refferee & linesman in charge…
Cesc | March 18th, 2009 @ 10:16 am
Lampard – If the ball touched a hull player before gallas scored it was not offside u Twat!
arsenal | March 18th, 2009 @ 11:09 am
Glory to Arsenal!!!!!!!!!!
Eric The King | March 18th, 2009 @ 11:11 am
too funny. seriously, do you all not know the rules?
Eric The King | March 18th, 2009 @ 11:14 am
Gallas was offside when the Arsenal player headed the ball. He became active in the same passage of play, rendering that offside worthy of the assistant referee's flag. Nothing else matters. Especially not the Hull keeper touching it last.
It is not a difficult game to understand. But then again, I'm sure Mr Wenger didn't set it. Or the spitting. Or the 100+ red cards under his management etc etc etc etc etc etc etc
booner | March 18th, 2009 @ 11:28 am
yep completely agree – massively offside. I guess in the linesman's defence he couldn't necessarily see if the arsenal player got a header touch or if it just came off a Hull player – but the referee is close enough to see so very poor decision.
Who on earth pays these guest commentators – absolutely rubbish…….
fabregas's mother | March 18th, 2009 @ 11:33 am
hull are BAD LOSERS!!!
fabregas spat on someone?
he can take a dump on someone if he wants.
it's separate to the match.
MickeyMouse | March 18th, 2009 @ 11:45 am
Doesnt matter if it was offside or not…. No point crying over spilt milk… Hull should concentrate on staying in the Premiership!!!!!
Ebeneezer_Goode | March 18th, 2009 @ 12:05 pm
Can't you read? The deflection from the keeper doesn't make a difference, the goal was still offside.
Ebeneezer_Goode | March 18th, 2009 @ 12:06 pm
Learn the rules you utter fool.
dlan4327 | March 18th, 2009 @ 2:08 pm
Arsenal got the win & I think it was legit.
For the record I support Man utd so I'm definitely not biased.
ManUtdQuintuple | March 18th, 2009 @ 2:25 pm
Hull goalkeeper NEVER got a touch, you arsenal fans just can't beat Hull without scoring a CLEAR OFFSIDE GOAL! Had the goalkeeper touch it, the ball would have went back out of the box, Djourou got the touch, goalie punched him in the head, watch it in slow motion, should have been another reply, or penalties and you ALL know it. Good luck getting in the Champions League next year, COME ON ASTON VILLA!
Chelsea boy | March 18th, 2009 @ 2:44 pm
chelsea wont lose arsenal struggled against hull youve gt no chance lol
Cesc | March 18th, 2009 @ 3:00 pm
Im a gunner and i agree it was offside but every team gets that bit of luck sometime and we just happened to get it last nite! Its as simple as that. Oh yeah, how good was it to see Man Utd get hammered off the pitch the other day – at home!!! Totally deserved!
Cesc | March 18th, 2009 @ 3:02 pm
Chelsea are getting scrappy 1-0 victorys against small teams! They wont know wat hit them when they play Arsenal!
bazybayor | March 18th, 2009 @ 3:14 pm
Ther's quite alot of negative ppl posting comments here!
Arseanl done the job just right, showed heart and passion, something they wer lacking for a small part of the season.
it's amazing to see that back in the team again, wether its a dubious goal or not, even bentdner is getting better despite the stick he's had lately, fought well to get that ball across to arshavin for the first goal. We'r still a young team n we have got alot to look forward 2!
Well done gallas too, thank you for yet another winner haha.
C'MON GOONERS on saturday for newcastle, will be there 2 cheer u on!
Looprevil | March 18th, 2009 @ 3:22 pm
Clearly offside, but a difficult call for the ref to make.
clichy22 | March 18th, 2009 @ 3:35 pm
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo its not offside
the goalkeeper got the last touch of it, he deflect it
look ecaxtly the ball arrives and djourou head him and then the goalkeeper ot a touch on the ball thats why the ball goes up, it was not djourous effort that made the ball go up.
Thats why it is not offside!
arsenal deserved the win ( bad first half but excellent second half !! )
Getonwiththegame | March 18th, 2009 @ 3:48 pm
So wad if its offside? Get on with the game losers…
I can see there're alot of fans who can't take it that now Arsenal is back in the hunt!
C'mon Gunners!
free bet | March 18th, 2009 @ 4:04 pm
I LOVE the way Arshavin and Vela are passing the ball ofensively
Jonny L | March 18th, 2009 @ 4:18 pm
You talk about Chelsea and then say:
>> (depending on a center half to score game winners)
Wot u mean like John Terry ??!
Ps. We did turn up and beat Chelsea 2-1 already !
k | March 18th, 2009 @ 4:59 pm
fukk yhhhhhhh
jillylmf | March 18th, 2009 @ 5:03 pm
I am…
a) an Arsenal fan.
b) aware of the rules. Gallas was obviously offsides after looking at the replay.
c) sick of everybody complaining about the teams in bad calls. It's the ref's fault. I'd bet a million that you would argue the same thing if it was your team who benefited from the bad call… especially in the FA Cup quarters.
If you can't appreciate luck, don't be a sports fan. It all evens out in the end.
byah! | March 18th, 2009 @ 5:15 pm
it isnt the fact that because the keeper touched it last gallas was onside. It is because when the initial cross was put it gallas was onside, however once the keeper touched it he was offside. Same thing as when the ball goes of a defender.
jambojon | March 18th, 2009 @ 5:20 pm
i'm delighted a couple of people actually have a clue and can put down their views is understandable english, well done guys, i'm 100% neutral and i agree – offside (Hearts fan)
jambojon | March 18th, 2009 @ 5:27 pm
as soon as the ball touched the arsenal players head gallas was offside, it doesn't matter if the keeper deflected it. I don't know why i bothered typing this, i'm a hearts fan and this place seems to be full of children and idiots
jose | March 18th, 2009 @ 7:52 pm
i made mistake before to say goal was correct, but it is definitely offside does not matter if goalman touch it. if a player is offside and scores rebound it does not count so why should this….linesman is french probably.
sian | March 18th, 2009 @ 8:39 pm
This is definitely off side even though i'm Arsenal fans, but one thing people have to realize is that this is not the first time ref give an offside goal there are time when ref got mix up and give it any way so people don't start to yell or criticize about it this will happen sometime until the technology assist is invent. To all chelsea fan here we come this time we will be full squad…hopefully no body is injure and we will fight for CL and F.A cup.
ckl | March 19th, 2009 @ 5:56 am
nt need argue la…
offside can be onside , onside can be offside…
its all depend on da decidion of referee and lineman…
Marcy | March 20th, 2009 @ 2:44 am
Wow, I just commented that the announcer was an idiot because he saw the play in slow motion and somehow thought the hull players were complaining about the foul when it was an obvious offsides. Im not a fan of either team but I have to say that there are a lot of “slow” Arsenal players out there.
Marcy | March 20th, 2009 @ 2:45 am
fans
Marcy | March 20th, 2009 @ 2:45 am

Walcott14 | March 22nd, 2009 @ 5:12 am
Ok
Gallas goal should not have been allowed
but, all im saying is it serves Hull right for being fags and time wasting at every opportunity
Arsenal deserved the win, and Phil Brown can go cry about it at home
His story about Fabregas changes every day
