This was kind of bs. Mexico's first goal was off a free kick they didn't deserve. I'll admit that they looked to be the more dominant team, but in my opinion, they didn't really earn their first goal and as such they didn't earn a draw. Canada should have won.

yea well canada didnt really earn that one goal either so its a draw.

This is Canada's B team pretty much. Julian DeGuzman (deportivo la coruna), Dwayne de Rosario (MLS MVP), Atiba hutchinson (Copenhagan), Rob Friend (Borrusia Munchengladbach) ALL GONE. Our starting goalie is a back of for CFR Cluj. Players playing out of position-adrian serioux playing right back?! Injuries to Marcel de Jong, radninzky. AND YET, STILL WE OWN A MEXICAN TEAM THAT CAME HERE NEEDING POINTS TO QUALIFIY. Just wait y'all canada will dominate in Concacaf football in years to come.

I had no idea lol .. what about mexico did they play their “A” team?

Own? I'm not even a Mexico fan, escaping with a 2-2 draw is hardly something to gloat about. It just shows how low expectations are for your side. I'm happy to see Mexico do poorly in any case.

I think you guys are having the wrong attitude. The game showed two things: 1) Mexico has alot of young talent. 2) Canada had NOTHING to gain when Honduras beat them to eliminate them from World Cup qualifying yet they still played with tremendous heart

I watched the whole game and loved it. The Canadian boys showed some greening but they also showed guts and hearth. Well done Canada. keep up the good work.

hahaha, ya i was exaggerating canada's result/performance here. They didn't “own” mexico, but considering the difference in pretty much everything (soccer background, players, infrastructure etc.) Canada gave mexico a good run for their money. These highlights are bias towards mexico, although mexico had more chances, Canada had more quality chances, Stalteri's shot off the bar etc. Mexico's 1st goal was a joke. However, saying all this, we performed sh!t the rest of the games and honestly, dont deserve to be in the world cup. But hey, a good performance against a good world cup team.
Also, even though Canada had nothing to play for, many of these players could have walked off back to their clubs and/or not played because of injuries. Look at Marcel de Jong. I bet if Mexico were in the same position (will never happen) many players wouldn't have showed up becuase of their egos. Canada has players like that too, but we lack depth and to perform like that agaisnt players who play at waay highler levels agaist bigger teams was good to see.

I watched the game as well….. Canada probably played their best game of the qualifier…. Mexico's first goal was bullshit…. how can u call a foul on somebody who got run over???

Didn't earn that one goal? Which one, both were excellent?
Slade | December 4th, 2008 @ 9:19 pm | | |
Its just too bad heart won't get you squat at that level of competition. Its sad too even talk about mexico. They don't have WorldCup talent! When was the last time they made it to a semifinal?! Oh, thats right…never! So sad! How about quarter finals!? Anyone? In their whole entire futbol history?! Face it, not even if they naturalized Central and South American players together and called them mexicans would they have a shot! So sad is their ego and effort …. SOoooooSad!

that was a terrible free kick call. the mexican ran recklessly into the canadian. the mexican should have been carded and the kick should have gone the other way. it's frustrating to see mexico get cheap goals it seems to happen a lot.

didnt earn that one goal, wat the hell are u talking about. in my opinion both goals were amazing. biased mexican. “they didnt really earn that one goal either” he says. without giving which goal and why. think before u talk plsss :-)
