england at least should have won this match [-(
BigBob | August 20th, 2008 @ 8:56 pm
bah, england couldn’t even win an egg and spoon race if they had glued there egg to the spoon and tied everyones elses shoe laces together!
watever | August 20th, 2008 @ 11:21 pm
walcott, ricahrds, jenas, agbonlahor, young, bentley, hart, green, these and other guys will lead england to success. beckham and the rest have had their chances, time for the younger guys to start tearing it up.
david | August 20th, 2008 @ 11:26 pm
Y dose it stop on 5 mins :(( cant see how **** england were
Howie | August 21st, 2008 @ 12:15 am
well… it IS Czech Republic and not some team that you could easily put 5 pass and you should remember that England are not that great, so don’t expect them to win every match now that Capello is in. I’ll give some credits to Capello, England looks more like a team. I reckon play Gerrard and Cole behind Rooney. Defoe looks good too, just need more shooting power.
AND I don’t know if you noticed, but Capello didn’t play to win, he subbed Gerrard and Rooney, two players which were influential in the first half.
A shout for David James suicidal charge “my balll !!!!” lol
danman | August 21st, 2008 @ 12:34 am
2-2 is not a bad result. England didn’t play well, and they still drew against a good team.
Rooster | August 21st, 2008 @ 1:30 am
Pathetic Brits… a bunch of sluggish old far ts chasing a ball. What in the world is this?
M.C.F.C.8.9 | August 21st, 2008 @ 2:01 am
I’ve gotta agree with watever here, the world cup is coming up in two years and realistically the majority of this lineup will be well past it by then. Its about time capello started forging a strong core of our talented youngsters rather than a laundry list of overpaid t. w.a.t.s, I’m sick of seeing gerrard trying shots from 40 yards out on a keeper as renowned as cech. waste. lampard and gerrard cannot perform at the international level and there is no point playing beckham if his crosses are going to be aimed at some of the smallest players in the side.
Tristan | August 21st, 2008 @ 2:23 am
Now that’s another beckham cross. Have you ever remember the last time england won without his crosses? And by the way, that rooney header was rubbish! That smooth assist from beckham was supposed to goal. 8-|
dan | August 21st, 2008 @ 3:33 am
gerrard wasnt that bad, considering he was out of position and playing in a **** team. he was one of the better players, and if put in the middle with – say, carrick, when he is fit – england may just find the right midfield formula. But as long as capello keeps putting him on the left, there is no chance in winning games, let alone dominanting games england should.
Zhund0r | August 21st, 2008 @ 5:00 am
i just dont understand why england plays so bad..
2 goals by corner kick, wow. new trainer – no difference.
Jenks | August 21st, 2008 @ 5:15 am
These highlights are flattering, as England were abysmal. I can tell you right now why they’re playing so poorly, it’s lack of movement. And not movement off the ball, for once that was OK, it’s just that our players, the older ones especially don’t run with the ball and create opportunities. As soon as Jenas and Bentley came on they looked a different side. This game more than any other has convinced me that Bentley needs to take Beckhams place, and Lampard just isn’t right for the team anymore. Hargreaves for Barry would be good too, not to mention Rooney paired with Walcott.
john | August 21st, 2008 @ 5:22 am
England r so ******* *****, but I hope they qualify for the WC so they can get embarrased AGAIN!!! Har har
Kippa | August 21st, 2008 @ 5:41 am
Im an aussie who has always loved england (half english)
now i may not be keeping up with the ins and outs of the english internationals day to day goings on, but this was a pritty poor result for how good england really are.
I didn’t think much of Capello b4 he stepped in btu i has some sort of confidence in him now. rather then a team of stars, he needs a team that would gel together better, llike say the Netherlands or Turkey in Euro 2008
Watever also made a good point, but also as a hamemrs fan, Green is’t a srping chicken either, he’s 28!! but i think most def a canididate for englands no.1
Come On You Irons!:d/
s | August 21st, 2008 @ 5:55 am
England will not win world cup 2010 if they play like this
markus | August 21st, 2008 @ 6:03 am
James = retarded
CM should either be any combination of Lampard, Gerrard and Barry (not all 3 on the pitch)
Wingers should be J Cole, Beckham, Bentley, Young and Lennon (either of the two)
I am amazed that Cappello cant find a better striker in England then Heskey. Agbonlahor is much better.
In my opinion it was poor team selection by Cappello.
pirate | August 21st, 2008 @ 6:38 am
all teams are like this in major tournements italy and france hardly banged in the goals did they? the problem is that teams are too defensive and so corners and long balls become neccesary and secondly yes we are average
ryan | August 21st, 2008 @ 7:13 am
the english team in general have gr8 players bt they just cant seem to play well together as a whole.. they shud play a 4-1-2-1-2.. wes brown scored a gr8 header bt in general his defense is abysmal n shud be replace by micah richards who has extreme pace.. james is old n ****** n joe hart shub b in goal.. center pairings r ok n ashley cole is by far da best lb england has.. mid field shud b hargreaves as holding mid followed by lampard n carrick.. gerrard shud play behind the forward pairings of owen wen hes fit and agbonlahor.. if owen isnt fit den rooney shud b playing.. rooney tho is overrated cuz he hardly scores goals while being considered a striker!!!! newayz capello has alot of work 2 do still so lets hope he gets it 2geder fast!!!!
Silthrim | August 21st, 2008 @ 7:35 am
brown is the best player on the field for england team, that is really unfortunate

I’m not English and I don’t follow the team very much, and even I can recognise that there were serious problems with this formation. The most obvious foul up is putting Gerrard on the left. Why?
In my opinion, it seems like the best midfield setup would be Cole on the left, Lampard in the middle with Hargreaves playing behind him, and Gerrard on the right. Though like I said I don’t know the team very well so I wouldn’t know if any of these players are injured or what.
And what happened to Gabby? Why wasn’t he chosen as a striker?
polak | August 21st, 2008 @ 9:45 am
GOD ****** UP THE QUEEN!!!!hhahahahaha….you’ll never win anything if still played like that…sucks!!!go to **** hooligans!!!
Roberto | August 21st, 2008 @ 11:07 am
Wherever Cappello went he won something but this time it will be more difficult.
Maybe the country who invented football will imitate Spain and Finally win something . P.s I still believe Hurst goal against Germany didn’t passed the goalline
s | August 21st, 2008 @ 11:18 am
England is the most popular team in the world, but if they always play like this they will not qualify “againt”to world cup 2010
koko | August 21st, 2008 @ 2:27 pm
i m BIG england’s fan but this game is juz sad, top players with no teamwork. rodney is plyin` all over midfield..wtf ? :o .. erikson > cappello :)>-
johnnyb2003 | August 21st, 2008 @ 3:22 pm
to answer koko question about rooney. Man u and england are thinking about switching him to midfield because of his passing and unselfishness
sci | August 21st, 2008 @ 6:00 pm
england is noobs in football.. :o
Scott | August 22nd, 2008 @ 3:15 am
Rooster, why did you say, “Pathetic Brits?” Just because England suck, it does not mean that Scotland and Wales are pathetic!
amanda | August 22nd, 2008 @ 4:01 am

Country that invented football, – do you mean england?
Well, according to wikipedia it was the chinese who invented it, my friend. Just to mention it.;)
sci | August 23rd, 2008 @ 12:04 am
no offense, just England should learn how to play football as a team not individuals.. If they cannot do this they wont able to compete even in their own ground.. :)>-
David Langham | August 23rd, 2008 @ 12:24 am
I don’t blame Cappello one bit. There’s a reason English players don’t seem to play all out when the don the White shirt.
It’s because they know that anything other than a 6 – 0 romp ill result in England players getting booed of the pitch and heckled. Shame on ENGLISH SUPPORTERS. [-( You should cheer your team when they’re winning and cheer them up when they lose. Don’t complain.
You try playing a game through continuous jeering. It sucks.
sci | August 23rd, 2008 @ 12:31 am
You were right man, English supporter should always support their own team..but the player itself they should know that they should give all they got when they enter the field and let their ego and popularity outside..play as a TEAM.. :-?
selman | August 23rd, 2008 @ 12:43 am
be patient, Capello’s working on it. I believe he will make England a great team again.
sci | August 23rd, 2008 @ 1:18 am
Hehe, hopefully we will see the different playing style from England side… :)>-
Jimmy | August 23rd, 2008 @ 5:16 pm
