A very well played game for Spain, their passes were spectacular and played a role in helping them find the back of the net three times. Great effort by Russia as well, no one expected them to get this far, but Spain just proved to be too strong for them once again. Looking forward to the finals, Germany seemed a bit out of form in yesterday’s match but they are a cohesive team so it should be an interesting match up.

Wonderful effort by both sides. Spain proved to be the better today both in diffusing Russian momentum and in sheer firepower. Great game of football!
The final will certainly be a game of styles, hopefully translating into an enjoyable match.

Im truly disappointed in the Russians. Not because they lost, but because they gave up after the 1st goal. I saw a dramatic drop in their performance after they conceded the goal. From the sloppy passes to the bad tackles, it’s just sad. And i also expected something special from Arshavin too, guess it’s too much pressure for him.
… Plus i had a bet that Russia will win

Very disappointing performance by the Russians. They played the whole game as if they were on training. LOL! This was a comprehensive victory by the agile and young Spanish side.

Cesc’s assist for the second goal was so beautiful. I don’t know how to describe it. Amazing. Thankfully Guiza finished it well.
I think Torres had enough chances to score.

it is our moment…. our time…. villa is hurt. but surprisingly good substitions from a burned out manager. torres needs to go and alonso needs to shine. after all these years the cup is ours, without fears !!

it was a nice game but it was not very exciting. From the first 5 min on you could tell spain would make it.
ger-esp is an intresting line up.
hopefully it will be a great and exciting match and not as one-sided as esp-rus

cesc proved to be the difference.. there was WAY too much pressure on arshavin, and he couldn’t step up when it mattered most.

Russia was battling all the way until Guiza’s goal virtually killed their hope. Great effort, but Spain produced one of the best performances so far in Euro 2008. Their passing and movement were ridiculously good in this match. Fabregas, Xabi Alonso, Xavi, Iniesta, Silva, all were just very good especially Fabregas. All the goals were classy, and it would have been better if Torres had scored at least 1 goal

As much as I wanted Russia to win - this was very dissapointing performance by the Russian team. They were outplayed by Spain and lost as a result. Russians did not play their football and Spain did.
However, Russian team was spectacular to watch this year. The team is very young and has tremendous potential. Fooball is on the rise in Russia and I hope they keep progressing and show us some exciting games as they certainly did this year.
Spain deserves to win this cup more than Germany and I hope that it will be the case.
In my opinion, the most exciting teams to watch this year were Russian, Netherland and Spain. The most unconventional in terms of come backs - Turkey.
Another thing to point out - I’m dissapointed by the weather conditions throughout the tournament - heavy rains etc. Such weather conditions prevent teams from playing good football.

Lol where the **** was Arshawin?
You can forget this guy. After two good games he was praised to the skies. It’s normally that young players like him crashes in the following matches.
Russia hadn’t a shoot on target for almost 40 minutes.
Welcome in the final Span!

My take is ….The Russians simply were out witted by the Spaniard `s coach. his instructions to his players were to begin the game with wide range of passes and posession of the ball , The Russians just chased all over the field and ran out of fule by the 30th minute . Then with outsanding plays of Fabergas and Iniesta the game was finished on a good note for the ROYALS.

Spain totally controlled the whole game…
Russia totally destroyed…
Arshavin is totally no where to be found…
Fabregas is the man at the moment today…
Judging by Russia’s performance today is poor…
Three brillant goals by Spain sumed up another superb Spanish performance…
Well Done Spain!!!
Also Well Done Russia for reaching to the Semi-Finals is no joke…
Awaiting the final : Spain vs Germany
Hopefully Spain can beat the Germans…
Come on Spain!!!!!

This is what happens when you neutralize Arshavin and the wingers (Zhirkov and Anyukov). It is basically the same thing Russia did to Holland - hold the flanks and get aggressive in the middle.
My guess is that Spain would of won against Holland as well, so.
Yay for final.

[…] Posted in Uncategorized Germany v. Spain in the final. I’m going for Spain as I (quietly) have been all tournament. I don’t know whether its the trip I took there so that I can imagine how happy the people must be or the fact that I don’t like Germany much the way I dislike the Spurs or Yankees or Man U, but either way I hope Spain pulls it out. David Villa won’t be playing so there is a little bit of a hole in the Spanish attack. Still they should pull it out because they have played amazing defensive the entire tournament. Plus their three goals yesterday were beautiful. […]

Poor guys
! All of you have been distracted by russian game with Holland. Russian team is simply a cinderella, after a midnight they showed their real faces. The midnight is THE SPANISH TEAM! Spain prooved: russia didn’t win with Holland, it is just Holland lost. Don’t know why, but Holland played like Sweden — without any will to win the game.
Go ahead SPAIN, you have to be the champion!

Are you kidding me? Russia showed a real class against Greece, Sweden and Netherlands. These young players certainly lack the experience of playing in big games, but surely they no longer will be the underdogs in big tournaments.

Young players like Arshavin??? He is 27 yrs old, and it is he’s 8th year for the russian national team, he is probably the best russian player ever, he just needs a breakthrough, and sometimes it happenes late in a players career, Luca toni for an example.

Of course, you forgot Croatia…never mind, we will prove ourselves again…in the world cup finals! Since our independence we played all WC´s and EC´s (except one)! And you forgot that Russia wouldn´t play this tour if there weren`t Croatia and our win over England on Wembley. Oh, and yes, Croatia is the only team that beaten Germany, beside Spain…never mind, we are used to it…
