It’s sad to see the host out so fast. Hakin Yakin didn’t celebrate for a reason, he knew the game wasn’t close to being over and he was right.

@whopper…
It is all in the name. Hakan Yakin was offered Turkish nationality before he was capped by Switzerland, but he turned it down.

lots of players do that when they score… run away from their teammates…. but he did celebrate, he went to the bench. same as on the second goal!
second one was lucky, took a nice bounce off that defender, and the goalie was handcuffed.

i’m surprised nobody mentioned that those three goals were world class. amazing pass, clinical finish, and wonder strike. it’s a shame i missed this game.

Very interesting game, the Turks could only win with a shot like that. Any other play would have resulted in sort of phantom foul. You see UEFA nor Bladder anticipated this. First goal by the Swiss was offside.

Turkey played very well especially in the second half. There was fuckin heavy rain but two teams fought to win. I congrulate both of team. It was really one of best game in euro 2008 until now. Anyway Hakan Yakın didn’t happy cos’ he is turk. Also Eren Derdiyok and Gokhan Inler are turk too

gotta feel for the swiss, host nation and everything and the first one out, but for the nuetrals this had everything, goals, attacks, defence, comedy, fouls, bloody, everything to play for, theatrics, drama and a fairytale ending, but for the neutrals it ended in tragedy, for the turks it could still end in tragedy this is the middle plot of their fairytale, the ending comes against the czechs!

turks and czechs are same points ,same goal diff and same total goals if they draw match goes to penalties

In that case they see which team has less yellow cards. who ever does go through. For now it seems that it’s the czech!!!!

Article 7.08 says If two teams which have the same number of points, the same number of goals scored and conceded play their last group match against each other and are still equal at the end of that match, the ranking of the two teams in question will be determined by kicks from the penalty mark, provided no other teams within the group have the same number of points on completion of all group matches.

If Czech and Turkey draw, it goes to penalties, since they both have the same GF, GA. And no other team will end up with 4 points if Czech and Trukey draw!
Read the UEFA Rule book carefully you dumbwits!

He is turkish of origin you moron!
Perhaps he should be playing on the Turkish side then! If he doesn’t have enough pride (playing for the Swiss) to even crack a smile when scoring a goal, kick him the hell off the team!

What so if even if both teams have the same points, GF and GA, then the country who has got fewer cards from the fairplay system goes through, based on fairplay you gothrough. WTF thats stupid wots the point in that. There’s no excitement in that at all and in fact is morally degrading for a player knowing they have gone out because they were too violent. F*** sake this sport ain’t based on pussyfooting the game, this is turning into a womans game now, freaking hell decide the game on penalties, fair and square

Hi Renato,
Can you pay me for my outstanding invoices, please? At least now that I see you’re posting here, I know you’re not avoiding me because you’re in the hospital. My collections agency is trying hard to contact you. I don’t want to have to take you to court. Please just finish this.
