You know what’s the truly ironic thing? Out of both Semi Finals the two teams that LOST will both be playing Champions League next season while Zenit St Petersburg are in 10th place and won’t even be playing in the UEFA Cup, unless they win it I guess. Zenit should be playing in the Champions League, it just ain’t fair.

Actually, David, Zenit won the Russian League last year, and given that the Russian championship ends in November, its winner plays in the CL the FOLLOWING autumn, almost a year later. So Zenit will definitely play in CL this autumn! Along, as I understand it, with Spartak and CSKA, I believe.

Zenit is in 10th place because the Russian season just started: they are only about 4 games into the season, obviously zenit’s position end the end will be higher than 10th.

Bayern was looking like a doll in Zenit’s hands. Actually I think that Bayern’s fans can blame Otmar Hitsfeld for this shoking (for them) result.
Zenit was on a high, but there was no Bayern on Petrovsky Stadium last night.
Greatest win for the team from the “North Capital of Russia” in the history (1925-2008). Unbelievable.

They massacred Munich without their best player Arshavin. I think they will the UEFA cup. Arshavin has a huge burst of acceleration. I think Rangers will get thumped unless Zenit Chokes. I was picking St Petersburg after i watched them annihilate Leverkusen. Their Counter attack is fierce.

In all European competition, including the Champion’s League, I think Zenit have played the best football. Almost every game they’ve played it has been absolutely thrilling to watch. The only thing that could have been more thrilling is if Arshavin were playing. He would have made the score line more than 4-0. I don’t see how Rangers stand a chance against them.

People have been saying that about Rangers all season in Europe, they’re not going to give Zenit an open game like this one, it will be a much harder for them in the final.

Jenks is right
Everyone thought Sporting, Fiorentina, and the rest would have put Rangers out by now, but let’s not forget that Rangers were in the CL to begin the season.
As a Liverpool supporter, I’m pulling for Zenit because one of our players was bought from Zenit earlier this year, Martin Skrtel.
