Ruud Gullit said something good when he told the news that the MLS was a league for "semi pros." LA Galaxy had to temporarily sign a ticket vendor outside one of their matches because they only had ten men! Unbelievable! This country will never be built for football. And as much as Landon Donovan seems like a god to americans, and I am an american, he sucks...Trust me. Only here is he good. Ive watched plenty of MLS games and there are some top quality players, however, it is a team game. The problem is that MLS needs a better Youth structure if it is to improve in standard. The emphasis placed on physical attributes (which are important) is at the severe expense of technique. I have a friend who is currently on a scholarship program with UCLA/LA Galaxy and he says 90% of training is fitness based.
