Wow, Donovan is on fire. He’s not sitting back and waiting for things to happen, and his teammates are giving good support.

Yeah, true that man, the commentors in MLS have a loooong way to go still, i do not like how the are biased towards one team, not very proffesional at all…

i don’t get donovan. he makes these amazing difficult shots, yet he screws up the easier chances (just look back at last game).

yeah these commentators are killing the expierience, every call on goal sounds like a goal that was scored during injury time….hopefully donovan can keep up the confidence until the world cup

I watch better football at Swindon in league one tbh. Except for flashes of class from Donovan, Beckham and the first Chivas goal scorer, very average.

League One? Snicker… dream on you snob. By the way, you don’t have a colonial empire anymore either.
But ya, MLS needs some Brit announcers, it just goes with the game, the ones they got (except TFC) sound like a cheap saw.

No need for insults I was offering a rational view of football in MLS. Ive watched plenty of MLS games and there are some top quality players, however, it is a team game. The problem is that MLS needs a better Youth structure if it is to improve in standard. The emphasis placed on physical attributes (which are important) is at the severe expense of technique. I have a friend who is currently on a scholarship program with UCLA/LA Galaxy and he says 90% of training is fitness based. Hopefully under Ruud Gullit “sexy football” will come to the US and this will change !

MLS soccer fails miserably as a “soccer” league.
Ruud Gullit said something good when he told the news that the MLS was a league for “semi pros.” LA Galaxy had to temporarily sign a ticket vendor outside one of their matches because they only had ten men! Unbelievable! This country will never be built for football.
And as much as Landon Donovan seems like a god to americans, and I am an american, he sucks…Trust me. Only here is he good. Put him in Europe or international and you will see how he can be left bencher.

Steve: Good reply. Well that’s yer *speculation* … I haven’t compared the two leagues closely, so I don’t know. Until they go head-to-head in something, I don’t see how anyone can be sure.
Mike: MLS is failing miserably, while adding a new team every year.Next Seattle. Next Philly. Next more and more. Going right down the toilet. Whatever.
