What an excellent come back and a very crucial win. I am very proud and happy to be a united fan. Right now, I believe the title is ours to lose. I can’t see that happening but as strange as it might sound, mathematically even Arsenal still have a chance :)
It wasn’t our best performance but we did what needs to be done when and how… Credit to the Arsenal players… after losing to Liverpool in the Champions league, I didn’t think they would have any energy left in them but they played well in the first half and created some great chances. If it wasn’t Van D in the back, I probably wouldn’t be here writing this. On the second half however, we were mainly in charge, specially after Tevz and Anderson came on. Ronaldo took the penalty brilliantly. He might not had the best game by his standard but his composure and the ability to perform under pressure were simply outstanding. Van D was on fire. He didn’t just stop the Arsenal players from scoring, he was quick to react on two occasions from our own players. He is match of the man for me without any doubt. I always like how Own H plays. His free kick was unbelievable good. Le man had no chance what so ever. Evera was brilliant too. Over all, we controlled the game and took our chances in the second half and I think that is what obviously made the difference.
Looking forward to the next game. I hope Vidic gets back and so does Nani. I think we need them both in the coming weeks more than any other time.

Adebayor should have been ruled out for handball but still should have scored at least 2! Hleb, Walcott, Fabregas, Toure, Gallas, and van Persie were working really, really, hard and were putting him into excellent positions to score. But he missed them all!
I think the injury to Eduardo has made him worse. He now has barely has any competition and is almost guaranteed a starting place. When Eduardo and van Persie were not injured he was banging them in!
Unfortunately, people keep on naming players to buy, and who we should sell. I think we should only sell those who want to leave. If we sell players and buy replacement, that will be pointless! Competition always turns players up a bit. THey know they need to be at their best if they want to play.
Good game, Man U!

To be consistent you have to be mature. Arsenal surely lacks a sense of maturity. I am a MANU fan, but when i analyze all the games Arsenal has played against Chelsea, MANU, and Liverpool, the gunners are always in the drivers seat for a sec, and then give up the game! Wenger needs to do serious shopping otherwise the young players like Walcott may seek greener pastures! lol Glory United!!! We need to be Chelsea at home to prove to the rest of the world that we are the best team!!

that handball was the harshest i’ve seen given for a while
there where no united players around to get it
the ball was going straight to lehmann and wasn’t going to bother lehmann for a second
honestly it was the refs desisions that gave united their “comeback”
if it wasn’t for that horrendous penalty call arsenal may still have continued to dominate the game and win the game that they deserved
THREE terrible penalty calls ended arsenal’s year just like that
yes we’ve sleppid as of late (2 wins in last 13 games) but this game– and the champions league should’ve gone our way

Whether a United player would have got the ball has nothing to do with it. A hand ball is a foul, and a foul inside the box is a penalty, it’s as simple as that.

Oh boy ! wat a joke its Adebayor’s hand goal that was overlooked … Gallas was a clear handball inside the penalty area and hence had to be a penalty. So in your logic Arsenal shd hv lost 2-0

That was a great game, Arsenal played and were a bit unlucky, I didn’t think they were going to pull such a great performance. Ronaldo’s spot kick was perfect and Lehmann tried to the best of his abilities to stop it and came quite close both times. Adebayor had so many chances, I just don’t understand how he didn’t score, the one he scored was a handball… was it intentional? I have no idea because I think that he could of made it with his head if his hand wasn’t in the way, in any case that shouldn’t have been a goal. On Gilberto’s foul, I don’t believe that he made contact with Evra, Gilberto had a decent game but you can see that he can’t keep up with the tempo anymore. I was a bit impressed by Alex Song, he made a few mistakes but he played very well I think, perhaps better then Senderos could of… *sighs* well thats it for Arsenal this season, I think a few buys will help to build the squad a little during the summer… This is my only my opinion but I think we should sell and find replacements for Gilberto, Eboue, Hoyte, Traore, and Senderos. My reasons or thinking Arsenal would be better off without them is that Senderos is too slow, doesn’t have good reflexes, Gilberto can’t keep up with the pace of the English game anymore, Eboue gets to many cards, butchers every chance he has in front of goal… and he’s had many this seaon, Hoyte… I just don’t see him ever being a regular in the first team squad and that goes the same with Traore… although maybe I’m wrong about Traore, he’s still 18 so who knows… I hear some people say that Rosicky should be sold and I can say that I understand their frustration with him being injured for so long, but you have to admit that when he does play he is top class, the guy scored 7 goals with little amount of time he’s had on the pitch and considering the position in which he plays, I think thats very good. Hopefully he will have a good rest during the summer, and will comeback stronger and injury free, he’s a great player to have on the team. Well Arsenal fans, all their is left to do is keep cheering our team on and be patient, I have feeling that next season will be better than this one.
jonas | April 13th, 2008 @ 10:53 pm
I think the handball by Adebayor was unintentionally. By the look of it, he seems to have raised his arms to protect from a charging van der saar
as for ronaldo…wow what a dive at the end, disgusting to watch a man with such skill try a dive like that
MU Without CR | April 13th, 2008 @ 11:05 pm
Congrats Man-u for the title, unless Chelsea has something else to say.
Without any doubt, Arsenal played way better than Man-U in this game and they could if won 3-0…but as always they manage to advance and easily lose it because of lack of concentration and maturity. Wegner has to do some serious shopping in preparation for next season. Arsenal needs a quality sticker who knows how to finish. Another quality midfielder would definitely be an added advantage too.
Let’s return back to this game..All the credit to Van Der Sar…he was the key player in Man-u..he wasn’t only defending his net from Arsenal’s attacks, but also from Man-u defenders..hahahahahaha
Good luck Arsenal next season..

actually, ronaldo danced. the defender just watched, and then ronaldo flopped when he got close. it’s easier when you’ve got the refs to protect you. kinda bad sportsmanship, but good for the highlight reel when all context will be taken away.

Adebayor’s blatant handball goal was a joke. I don’t blame the ref because he clearly couldn’t have seen it. Still I believe that the penalty was justice in a sense for that first goal.

Man does VDS have some good reflex for a 37, or is it 38 year old? I think Brown and ferdinand owes him a few drinks after this game. And Hargreaves’s free kick was half scored by Anderson, for blocking Lehmann’s view.

Would you like some English Whine? It was Bottled right here by Arsenal FC, sorry, no Cups available.
lol
Arsenal are turning into “There’s always next season” just like Liverpool.
seriously, they need to grow up. As soon as the penalty was given they went into whine mode led by Super Captain Crybaby. Adebayor was lucky not to have been sent off for his scizzor tackle on Anderson. And what a Hand of God. Seriously. Fabregas went invisble for half the game. Rooney needs to finish the dang sitters.
Your title hopes are over.

Class arsenal fans on here, such class. Such respect given both ways, thats what i like to see here.
Arsenal’s passing in the first half was nuts. They set adebayor up so many times during the first half. First goal regardless of the handball, i thought VDS was going to punch that ball out, he was close enough right? Looked like miscommunication with the defenders.
I knew hargreaves was going to take that kick, because all i thought about was his freekick against fulham, it was the same exact setup, so i knew he was going to take it.
Great game arsenal, it was a nailbiter, good luck rest of the season.

just becuz its a utd player who did the tricks, he’s getting the run-ins by fans like “sirty portugese”.
i don’t see anyone saying that to players like ronaldinho, ronaldo, zidane, figo when they were with the tricks, c.ronaldo is not the only player here doing the tricks to def over and over again.
aniwae, arsenal shld haf killed the game off in the first half, when utd wasn’t playing their best, every single pass was cut off by a arsenal player. and they can only blame on poor finishing. the build ups are great but everytime they are on sight of goal, they waste their chances, anxious to score maybe? like what kasolo said, they are not matured yet.
arrr: handball was harsh? but u only commented on that cuz its was awarded against arsenal, why not talk abt the “handball” adebayor had. plain bias due to being a arsenal fan?
motm; van der sar. the only player not asleep. cant really blame brown on that, it was a bad deflection. but how many great saves did he made? arsenal was jus so-so until walcott came in, and SAF made a great sub. by bringing anderson and tevez..the way tevez worked when he tries to hold onto the ball is superb. anyone saw the scene when song, toure, gallas and helb where discussing? the captain seems to be invisible among the others 8-|

Handball is a foul. If it happens in the penalty box, then it’s a penalty. If it’s outside then it’s a freekick/yellow-card. As simple as that. This game is called FOOTball for a reason.
Plus, Arsenal’s goal was “flicked” in by Adebayor’s hand too. Two handballs, one for each side, what’s there to complain? ;)
But… credit where credit is due. Arsenal played very very well especially in the first half. It was a nail-biting thrilling game.

I can’t wait for Gary Neville to come back..Brown’s performance is really fluctuating, maybe ManU should get a young right back when the transfer market reopens. I think ManU really misses Vidic…he’ll be back next game for Barca I think.
Ronaldo’s superb, but if only he’ll chase the ball more, especially when it comes to defending.
It’s very amusing how all the 4-5 Arsenal players forming the wall got bluffed into thinking that Ronaldo was going to take that freekick lol.
For Arsenal, I really admire Hleb.. He can control the ball real well..good speed and pace from Walcott..but Song looked a bit confused lol.

Alright good, but the thing is, I don’t understand why some people would make such a big deal out of it anyway… it was an Arsenal vs Man Utd derby, and a very significant one. These kinds of games are always like this, no player wants to loose, especially at this stage so I think that people could be a little more understanding about a player being frustrated, they are human you know…

:-?
Well, I must say the game was entertaining, but Man U were too cautious in the first half and that made them get into silly mistakes and gave away balls cheaply.
Rooney, needs to be more clinical infront of goal. He gets into wonderful positions and if only he puts them away, he would be top scorer.
Ronaldo was not really in the game except for his penalty which showed nerves of steel.
Complaints about dive – well he was definitely pushed and he actually invited it and Arsenal players duly obliged – and it is a foul.
But Gilberto was flying w/o anyone touching him. Amazing how no Arsenal fans saw that.
NB when Ronaldo was pushed, it was at the end and Arsenal was already dead and buried.
Wenger has to take the blame, bec it was his strategy.
Congrats Man U… lets go get both the trophies!:d

Perhaps Gallas took the bribe since he was the one who USED his HANDS in the AREA not the ref who put the ball there or giving a penalty for no reason and don’t tell me how the ball was going no where else but lehman’s territory, it was more than a 50/50 call and MU at home.. u can’t just let that one go.. be realistic if you saw that in Emirates not given to Arsenal u’d be cursing the ref….
that handball was the harshest i’ve seen given for a while
there where no united players around to get it
the ball was going straight to lehmann and wasn’t going to bother lehmann for a second
honestly it was the refs desisions that gave united their “comeback”
if it wasn’t for that horrendous penalty call arsenal may still have continued to dominate the game and win the game that they deserved
THREE terrible penalty calls ended arsenal’s year just like that
yes we’ve sleppid as of late (2 wins in last 13 games) but this game– and the champions league should’ve gone our way.course it woz a pen, thats what happens when you touch the ball with ya hand or do you have different rules down south+didnt you score with ya hand?but i guess thats ok aswell is it.CHAMPIONS,AGAIN!!!
:d/

so did wenger bribed the ref to allow ade’s goal? :-?
just can’t understand why do people of your kind just love to blame all the external factors to your downfall..instead of looking back at yourselves for the problem within..

Great game of football.. Arsenal dominated in the first half United in the second half.. The best game of the season according to me. U dont get many games better than this do u?? Title will remain at OT for sometime to come :d
Congrajulations for arsenal for providing such entertaining football throughout the season.. Next season hope it’ll be a horse race between arsenal & united
I think chelsea should apologise to Jose for replacing him with an unqualified coach, Grant is a disgrace to the likes of Ballack and Makelele to play under..the guy is an idiot. It showed against wigan.
