llol i agree im man united fan that was never a pen liverpool was lucky or wel someone had to win looks like there in final as chelsea wont win them lol
“The mental strength of the team was fantastic tonight. It was down to lack of experience.
“This team has plenty of talent and potential but we lacked that little bit of extra confidence.
-So, youve got great mental strength and no confidence… thats, uh, weird.
2. For those who think Wenger never complains about the ref:
“I believe it (the loss on Tuesday) is down to a dodgy decision from the referee”
plus he was complaining last week too.
although i agree with him, its stupid that arsenal fans have come on and complained about fergie’s ‘constant whining’ about refs, and then they say wenger never does it, and then this…
hmm, hes really justifying THAT.
i kno its bad reffing, but still, hes complaining… (it was bad reffing when fergie complained too)
i just want the arsenal fans to know, that most of them are hypocrites. thank you.
after Walcott’s play i hated to see the game get turned around on a call like that. Arsenal shouldn’t have been surprised by Babel’s run, but that was no penalty. i understand how the ref might have been fooled since the defenders’ arms were up, but Babel made an absolute meal out of a bare touch.
well done arsenal u fought extremely well and it was a very entertaining match!
i actually wanted you to win, but luck is on liverpools side as they progress to meet chelsea who they will beat again and go to the final deservingly…
oh well, i guess a man u - liverpool final would be a just way for united to beat u down to a pulp and shatter your false sense of pride
After complaining abt the penalty decisions, Wenger followed:
“we have to accept that and also to accept that in a game like that in which we had so much control, we were too naïve, and we lacked a little bit of maturity defensively.
this was easily the best match of the past year or so in the cl ! good stuff, too bad the gunners lost but oh well… back to the epl title now!! and hopefully next season will bring much more success. good luck to liverpool though…
“There was even a lack of concentration straight away after it went 2-2.
“They found Babel in the box straight from kickoff, and that’s where the concentration dropped a little bit.

As a neutral, over the course of the two legs I think Arsenal were robbed. Two shocking penalty decisions, one in each leg and both going against Arsenal. Credit to Liverpool though I suppose, they always seem to manage to get through even when they’re not playing good football, shame they can’t go the distance in the league.
that ref must have smoked a joint at half time cos i dont see how u will give dat as a penalty….4mins to d end and when the game was reaching a climax of good football…and i dont know bout other gunners..but i dont see why eboue should be there…honestly
i hope wenger now sees he needs to buy now..cos its not just age…its true quality..we need a good keeper…and a winger..cos we dont have real ones..and i hope rociskys’ play does not get messed up like vanpersie cos of injury..and a good strker like torres…that loves to blast and not toy with the ball…i guess that will be a good start…and pls sell senderos…the dude is over-rated..
i hope wenger now sees he needs to buy now..cos its not just age…its true quality..we need a good keeper…and a winger..cos we dont have real ones..and i hope rociskys’ play does not get messed up like vanpersie cos of injury..and a good strker like torres…that loves to blast and not toy with the ball…i guess that will be a good start…and pls sell senderos…the dude is over-rated..
sell senderos and gilberto silva … buy a good right midfielder, and a quality striker to partner with Adebayor.
Ok this was so disappointing, tell me how thats a penalty… and how the foul on Hleb in the first leg wasn’t, Arsenal should of won, poor refereeing in both legs… besides the ref ruining it, the game itself was fantastic, my eyes were glued to the screen… it was unfortunate to loose Flamini to injury, it was quite visible how we were loosing the midfield battle in the 2nd half… Gilberto can’t play at that pace or intensity anymore, you could see that Fabregas wasn’t the same whithout Flamini. The two play extremely well together, but take one out and its sort of like being handicapped. my prediction before this game was that it would of ended 1 - 1 and Arsenal was going to win in extra time… unfortunately i was dead wrong. Arsenal had chances to score though… Adebayor missed what seemed to be a certain goal just before he scored the second for Arsenal. Its so saddening to know that such a season is going to go unrewarded, we were at the top of the table for most of the season, and had a fantastic run in the Champions League. Hopefully next season will be better.
ridiculous, no one gave us a chance and we played well but for 2 poor mistakes defending wise by senderos then a really dodgy penalty, the ref gave the game away, and the exageration of the kops influence is laughable they had no play in tonights match. walcotts run was brilliant, and i just cant believe how we got robbed, last match definate penalty
And I agree Senderos did poorly, he was marking Hyypia when he scored and Torres… Eboue played a good game for a change though… but we definitely need a new winger or striker or both… Hatem Ben Arfa would be great for those positions, as far as our defense goes.. we have Sagna, Clichy, Toure, and Gallas who are remarkable… but we need better subs! since Sagna’s injury our defense isn’t as strong, and having to put Senderos in as a replacement for Sagna forces Toure to move to right back which is definitely not his best of positions, I feel that Djourou with time will get to the level we need but Traore, Hoyte, Senderos… I’m not so sure. Don’t get me wrong Senderos is a good defender in many ways… but he really lacks pace and that is so important when your defending, to be able to react quickly and catch up to a player is crucial and Senderos can’t do that. Traore has nothing going for him as far as I see and that goes for Hoyte as well… we need new left and right backs!
so what if arsenal didnt get the penalty decision in the first leg.if they had it would have been a different game and liverpool would have pushed on and done whatever it took to win the tie.
so what if arsenal didnt get the penalty decision in the first leg.if they had it would have been a different game and liverpool would have pushed on and done whatever it took to win the tie.
I must disagree with you mark, arsenal are not a team that holds back and would have still caused many problems to Liverpool, I strongly doubt that Liverpool would of won if we had an extra goal in the aggregates, minus the babel goal that would not have happened if we weren’t chasing for an equalizer in the last minutes of the game, we would of had all our back-line present instead of just Fabregas in the back and Babel’s goal would of not happened in those circumstances.
as an arsenal fan i gotta say alot of the players did not perform well tonight: here are my rankings..
Almunia - saved w.e he cud… but his restarts were heopeless.. so 7/10
Toure - not a right back, i donno y wenger outs him there, eboue shud be there for sagna, not ture.. his position didnt suit him and didnt perform well, that was not a penalty either… 6/10
Senderos - come on mate… his marking was bad and wasnt aggressive enough on challenges…he hasnt improved much since joining arsenal, reminds me of cygan.. 4/10
Gallas - his combination with toure is the key to his game, with senderos there is just too much weight on his shoulders 7.5/10
Clichy - played well, only if his short passes were better, he cud become a great winger cuz his crosses are brilliant… 8/10
Eboue - HORRIBLE…y was he even on the pitch… he did not make one good cross, one good dribble, his passes and first touches arent good…. he should be a right back not a right winger… 3/10
Walcott - he was fantastic… his run for the second goal was top class with great vision, he shoud have started instead of eboue.. if this is all the playing time he gets at arsenal, id like to see him leave, becuz hes quite a talent…. 8.5/10
Fabregas - poor guy has just too many games this season, he looked a bit tired… 7/10
Flamini - He ran and challenged for every ball till he got injured… 8/10
Gilberto - felt he was a bit lazy. didnt contribute well enough… 6/10
Diaby - played well in the first half but was a no show in the second, besides he scored a goal too soo… 7/10
Van Persie - ive said it be4, he is OVER RATED… did he even touch the ball once? im not suprised if hes injured again, surely hes good when playing against ****** defs but as we saw today, he made absolutely no contribution at all… 3/10
Hleb - great first half, howver his game became a bit predictible with his constant short passes… didnt have a good second half 7.5/10
Adebayor - he hasnt performed as expected for a while. his first touches, dribbles and passes were a bit off today…his runs were offside as well.. and y did he keep trying to go on the wings.where hes not really good at. he never really attacked the net that much…but he did score a goal..and missed another wonderful op… 6.5/10
subs!!1 subs!! thats wat we need…eboue, senderous, and van persie should be on bench..if not reserve..we have to be realistic and stop looking at d past dat has not produced nothing!!!! buy diego from werder bremen, ben arfa from lyon…a good striker..maybe afonso alves, aguero, an affordable youngster like dos santos for bench..this will be a good start…honestly see man.u..they have nani…anderson..ronaldo..tevez..rooney…vidic…they are all pretty young not more than up to 25…and they can whoop anyones *** rite now…so we got to be smart and buy…and adebayour better be careful cos to me…he is not dat good…just a sudden burst of form hasnt guaranteed anything to me…cos he could not even hold the form for a season…how about 5years then?…we a goal banger…who doesnt care about p***ing…leave that to the midfielders…his job is to bang at the end of the p***es…
great game. kudos to Arsenal for taking to Liverpool.
But seriously, that was a penalty. Soft penalty, maybe, but I’ve seen pens given for less. Toure came in, clipped Babel, had his arm on his back, and knocked Babel off-balance. It certainly wasn’t on purpose but clumsiness unfortunately is not an excuse in the box.
There was certainly far more in it than in Hleb’s appeal in the 1st leg.
wonderful game…..very exciting and a beautiful game….I am a liverpool fan and am VERY HAPPY with this important victory, but credit to arsenal for fighting on till the end. C’MON YOU REDS!!! BEAT THE BLUES IN THE SEMIS!!

I keep telling people that Walcott is the real star at Arsenal but will they listen? It’s not my problem I support Man United and frankly I’m happy to see the gooners continue to field ****** players ala Eboue and the over rated Bendtner. However they’ve got a real gem in Walcott and him being at Arsenal does irk me. He should be playing regular football preferably for a better team than Arsenal. Thank you Liverpool, for putting the gunners where they belong.
good game to both arsenal and liverpool, but everyone agrees liverpool had luck on their side. sigh… why is eboue starting………….. why is he even on the squad. walcott needs more pitch time. and v.persie is way out of form. wenger shouldn’t play him in important matches.
good luck next year boys
One of the best games ive seen this year.
absolutely ruined by bad refs.
sloppy penalty call and
not even one yellow card for liverpool. eventhough each time Kuyt plays it looks like hes trying to rip someone’s *** king arm off.
thats the way it goes for Arsenal all the time.
they play against 11 men+ the refs.
ruined the game.
I’ve watched the replay over and over and I must say that the initial foul on Babel was made outside the box by Fabregas and Toure who gave him a little push here and there, but he decided to drop as soon as he got in the box… if anything that should of been a free kick at most… oh well its over now, we Arsenal fans will have to wait until next season, and hope we can get that bitter taste out of our mouths by beating Manchester United on Sunday… we pretty much have little next to no chance of taking the title. If we win all our games including the one at Old Trafford and Manchester looses against Chelsea which is a good possibility since they are playing at Stamford Bridge, we will be tied with Manchester United who have a greater goal differential, and I looked at the upcoming game-weeks and Manchester United don’t have another team against who they could tie or loose besides us and Chelsea, and Chelsea are capable to win all their other games as well although I do think that Everton is able to beat them since they will be playing at Goodison Park and Everton are a strong team, and maybe Newcastle might… just might be able to pull it off, and that game won’t be taking place at Chelsea’s stadium either which is good since Chelsea have a great home record. If we want to win the title we will have to win against Manchester United on Sunday if we don’t its over… and we greatly depend on other teams as well… with that said, our chances are really slim even though Manchester United had a draw with Middlesbrough, but we failed to take advantage of it, although we were a bit unlucky with our schedule… 3 games against Liverpool in 7 days is definitely exhausting.
Anyway, I hope Barcelona can win the UEFA Champ League this year.
And then Wenger will buy Henry back to Arsenal.
Henry back at Arsenal? not going to happen, although it might be a good thing since our youngsters evolved well in his absence and we will probably get a young striker like Ben Arfa, Benzema (likely to go the Manchester United though), Hunterlaar (although Van Basten wants to keep him in Ajax), Ashley Young perhaps… There are many more rumors but I’m almost 100% sure about Ben Arfa joining this summer.
“There was even a lack of concentration straight away after it went 2-2.
“They found Babel in the box straight from kickoff, and that’s where the concentration dropped a little bit.

good game to both arsenal and liverpool, but everyone agrees liverpool had luck on their side. sigh… why is eboue starting………….. why is he even on the squad. walcott needs more pitch time. and v.persie is way out of form. wenger shouldn’t play him in important matches.
good luck next year boys

yes, well fergie also said that we cant blame the ref and it was no excuse….
but that never stops arsenal fans from calling him a whiner.

Diasappointing match. Truly disapoointing.
2 very bad call from the reffs. One from the 1st leg, and another from this match.
I just can not believe what a very bad call it was. Penalty? Come on, is the reff another friend of the cannot-do-anything-striker called Dirk Kuyt?
I would accept the loss if Liverpool scored another fair goal but not from the “dodgy” penalty.

Anyway, I hope Barcelona can win the UEFA Champ League this year.
And then Wenger will buy Henry back to Arsenal.
