It wasn’t a perfect performance but it was enough to stop them from scoring and created a couple of chances too. We worked as a team and altough we should have scored more, I am still satisfied with the team performance. To score 3 against Liverpool is not something of everyday.
It was a perfect weekend for all United fans, with the defeat of Arsenal. The same old rivals are coming back again: Chelsea.
Brown.. It was all against the bookmakers to score, but he did open the result for us, his first goal this season. He may have done nothing special to score but he was at the right place in the right time. And it was also a spot on assist from Rooney.
Ronaldo wasn’t invisible today. He surely should have scored more, but anyways .. His goal was a good header with good vision.
Nani’s goal.. Oh god, oh god this lad leaves me without breath when I watch him playing. He is fantastic. All goals he scored were quality and today’s wasn’t less eighter. Great applause to this lad. Came on in the second half and made a mark immediately.
Rooney may not have scored but he assisted 2 of the goals and was the biggest threat to the Liverpool’s defence.
Oh.. and shall I say something about Macherano’s sent off? He is such an arrogant man. I couldn’t believe it. He kept on ******* the referee. He did deserve the red card. Always laughing and ******** around.. Who does he think he is? It isn’t an issue if he was talking to referee calmly. From the TV I saw him say ‘fck you’ like 2 times. He was sent off and he deserved it.
And what was all that talk before the match about how Torres will disturb our defence? He was nearly invisible man. And Gerrard WAS invisible! At times I forgot he was even there!
Anyways..
3 more precious points in..
What more can I say eighter that I hope we’ll continue with this form?
earlier in the season i thought anderson was easily more valuable than nani. but nani is starting to show his star potential, and anderson is startin to show his age in some of the recent games. he needs to be calmer with his passes (you can’t go for the over the top ball every time you get the sight of goal) and more composed, epecially that volley attempt. scholes hasn’t looked special all season, but he bossed the midfield today. great job by rooney great assists good movement in the box carragher and skertl could do nothing against him. i hate to say it, but giggsy looks past it; right after he came off, nani completely changed the look of the game. giggs is a united legend, but he needs to retire for his own sake. torres looked nice and cozy in rio’s back pocket for the second game in a row. SAF, please give brown his money, the man is a great defender and has greatly improved his ability to come forward and support the attack. ronaldo, even though he had a somewhat quiet performance, killed the game off. all that’s left now is the chelsea game at stamford bridge and arsenal at OT. let’s keep the trophy where it belongs.
First of all, Congra all you wonderful united fans. I have to tell you, I was a bit nervous today… not because we are playing Liverpool but because of how we have been playing in the past couple of weeks. We are never short of quality or creating some great chances but in front of goals we looked to struggle with our finishings. On top of that, the other top two teams were also playing. Knowing our win would give us a crucial edge, I was nervous but not anymore thank God our boys, they did a fantastic job and delighted all of us.
As usual we played well, controlled the game from the beginning and we should have had taken the lead multiple times before Brown’s header. In my opinion Rooney should have had a penalty. Did you notice one thing though about Rooney?… He is a magnificent footballer but recently he seem to miss some golden chances… I mean the way he controls the balls, create chances for himself are out of this world but when it comes to finishing the balls, he just disappear. I just hope that won’t continue because if it does, it will have its own major impact
Meanwhile, Ronaldo was on fire and he did shut his critic mouth by scoring against liverpool. I want to hear their excuses about that in the coming the days but the guy is on fire and I don’t know what is going to get in his way and stop him. He is pretty much a nightmare for every defender that plays against him.
All in all, we did very well and credit to every united player. They worked very hard as a team and the result speaks for itself.
I can’t wait to beat Arsenal at Old Tr afford again.
Pathetic. Pathetic performance by Liverpool. I’m ashamed to be an L’pool fan with the output that this team has thrown together this year. Fire Rafa. Get rid of Riise. Dear God in heaven add some more attacking weapons. The fact that Liverpool did not put together one decent attack the entire game is sickening. Torres can’t do it alone up top, this whole team needs a restructuring; Come summer, we better see some changes because the team is not suitable as is
/ glory glory man united glory glory man united / haha beuitiful performance today everyones comments so far have everything on point no arguing. Nani what a goal, ROnaldo cant stop him, Rooney what a creating machine he has become he just needs to get those finishes and Wow!, big UPSSS to the Defense and i leave with this Glory Glory MAn UNITED GLORY GLORY MAN UTD, AND HOPE THOSE FU*KERS AT FOX GET OFF CHELSEA’S **** AND SHOW MORE MAN UTD GAMES IM SO SICK OF WATCHING THEM INSTEAD OF MY MAN UTDDDDDDDDDDDDDD WE GOT THIS GUYS ITS OURS LETS KEEP THIS UP

mulugeta- weve discussed this on a forum on for a while now. rooney is amazing at creating chances, but his finishing has been trash since december when he got back from injury 2. he needs to get back together, cause hes had like 15 different 1vK opportunities and he hasnt scored even 1 yet since january.
hes still motm for me. great job.
the nutmeg pass to nani… great 1st touch on that one for nani, and a great finish to match.
GREAT GAME AND ANDERSON IS SUCH A TOTAL D*CK… I THINK HE NEEDS TO PRACTICE SHOOTING!!!! AND BENNETT WAS SO CORRECT TO GIVE THE BL**DY MOTHERFAKKING ARGENTINIAN!!!
Good job, United. You guys deserved the win. Hat off to you. The biggest difference I noticed between you and us was ball movement. Your passes were being completed, and the midfield was making smart moves most of the game. For some reason, the area where we’re strongest really lacked today. Alonso and Gerrard weren’t on.
That being said, I think all of us can admit that the ref was a bit harsh on Liverpool in the beginning. We all saw Mascherano pull out of the challenge that earned the first yellow. I agree that he should have shut his mouth with the second, but I understand why he was furious. There were several harsh tackles committed by United with no punishment, and I still can’t figure out why Kuyt was carded. And for whoever it was that said they could see mascherano saying “F U”, shut up. I’ve watched it over and over, and there is no way you can make it out.
Furthermore, I think it was obvious the ref realized he overreacted by carding Ferdinand in the second half. I have no idea what he did to cause the card. I’ve watched that one over and over, and I still don’t even understand what the foul was.
However, don’t get me wrong. I am not blaming our loss on the ref. You guys played better and deserved the win. The only thing I can say is wait until we can afford a squad like yours. We’ll destroy you.
Thank you Ray. For what it’s worth as a Man United fan I believe that 3 - 0 is a flattering scoreline and it should be remembered that Liverpool were playing with 10 men & without one of the BEST holding mids in the world. Also I didn’t watch the whole game did Benitez keep playing Torres as a lone striker because that makes things terribly hard with 1 man missing.

Interesting comparing the Eboue troubles in Arsenal v Chelsea to the Mascherano incident. Eboue, on a yellow already, got himself involved in an incident that didn’t involve him much like M, but Clattenburg’s response was to take him aside and calm him down, not get upset himself.
I think you could see the red coming after that first tackle, Bennet looked furious with Mascherano’s reaction, and M didn’t help himself with his actions over the next 30 minutes. Given the current situation, which he has to be aware of, it has to be said he deserved the red card. He acted stupidly, provoked an angry ref, and paid the consequences.
In any case I don’t think the result would have been too different if it had remained 11 v 11. Anderson needs to score that first goal - you can see it getting to him.

i wouln’t call for a restructing if i were a liverpool fan like you. liverpool has been doing that since benitez took over and they had not stopped restructing the team. which is no good. the lads need time to get as a whole. especially when you’re playing in benitez’s way of squad rotation. so its enough of the buy and sell. the more active they are in the market, the more the players have to adapt each time a new player gets into the lineup.
Its always good to beat Liverpool, i was not happy with the hype about how Liverpool was going to destroy United a week back! I was surprised at how Benitez tried to use mind games earlier this week! We need some respect whenever u come to OT! Consistence and form will make us retain this trophy! Good luck United!
great game for old scholes. not to forget the credits of the two brave center halves, covering each other’s backs and the way they have blossom into such a stingy pair, its really awsome.
the movement of the ball, each passing moves by man utd was very sharp.
i cant help but say liverpool’s centre halves are both sleeping. how many times did they let a ball go pass them to reach a lurking attacker.
masherano, with his usual why, why and more why”s”. he needs to learn not to ask so much, not to speak too much to the ref. i still remember him asking the ref why he was booked for throwing the ball. like what riggs said, he didnt get the hint of keeping quiet. paid a heavy price for his stupid actions. but it all sums up to bad refereeing, no way was ferdinard going to be book in anywhere in the world, same goes to kuyt.
i would say if babel shows his full effectiveness, utd’s defence can do nothing about him. he was my pick to be the man that can win the game for liverpool.
liverpool has a squad enough to win tropies, but it’s just one factor that they lack. x-factor.
notice how recent years, liverpool is always showing how great a squad they have on paper, and don’t produce what they were expected in the first half of the season, then comes the late rush of forms which is already too late for anything except a champions league spot. then comes the next season, and they get active in the market again, then players have to get used again, and the stories goes in circles again. rafa’s system is very good for late season gust of staminas, but not during the first half of the season when players need to blend.
GREAT GAME AND ANDERSON IS SUCH A TOTAL D*CK… I THINK HE NEEDS TO PRACTICE SHOOTING!!!! AND BENNETT WAS SO CORRECT TO GIVE THE BL**DY MOTHERFAKKING ARGENTINIAN!!!

acting like a child gets you no where. they should learn from their mistakes but you shouldn’t go anywhere near to calling names.

I don’t agree with this. I could be wrong, but it seems you are arguing we have, when it comes to spending, a similar squad to yours. If so, that is not true at all. Liverpool have maybe four top class big money players in Gerrard, Torres, Mascherano, and Carragher. You don’t need me to point out that you guys have more than that.
If you take this into consideration and the fact that we won the champion’s league and the FA Cup it is quite remarkable. We don’t have the money that the other top 4 clubs have, yet we still manage to win trophies.
Based on the fact that we have been fairly successful with much less money than you, I believe Liverpool can return to the glory days once more money comes in. You’ll see the world’s best club like it was before most of you can probably remember.
I am not commenting on any of you and your support of United. Rather, I am going to comment about the support where I live, Houston. It astounds me how many people claim to be “United supporters” here, but in actuality I know more about the club and its history as a Liverpool supporter. All of these people showed up at my bar yesterday with their United jerseys, but they’ve never shown up for a game before. I tried talking with a few, but it was useless.
It seems that here it has become and bandwagon club. The teenagers who play local “soccer” pick United because of their current run of success. If I were a United supporter, like you, this would scare me. I also noticed that there were almost no supporters over the age of 30, which also lead me to believe it has become a bandwagon club.
Any idea on this for those of you living in the states or outside of England like myself?

He does need to finish better, his creating is great …but geez he’s a foward not a midfielder. He’s been squadering those chances too much. I just keep thinking it might come back to bite them later…specially in champions league.

It is definitely a bandwagon club….they’re actually a good club almost every year tho.
Still I’d rather my Gunners win….hopefully they can pull off a miracle. They’re always injured for some reason tho…too many games I think. As for my 2nd favorite its Barca. As for liverpool I think they’d be much better if they’re squad lineup was more consistent. And if Crouch played more.

I think Mascheranho was lucky to stay on pitch even though he had fouled Giggs and Ronaldo after getting one yellow already. Personally he damaged the fun coz I am sure United cd hv beaten them handsomely with him ON and so have to live without that fact.

Good luck United!

great game for old scholes. not to forget the credits of the two brave center halves, covering each other’s backs and the way they have blossom into such a stingy pair, its really awsome.
the movement of the ball, each passing moves by man utd was very sharp.
i cant help but say liverpool’s centre halves are both sleeping. how many times did they let a ball go pass them to reach a lurking attacker.
masherano, with his usual why, why and more why”s”. he needs to learn not to ask so much, not to speak too much to the ref. i still remember him asking the ref why he was booked for throwing the ball. like what riggs said, he didnt get the hint of keeping quiet. paid a heavy price for his stupid actions. but it all sums up to bad refereeing, no way was ferdinard going to be book in anywhere in the world, same goes to kuyt.
i would say if babel shows his full effectiveness, utd’s defence can do nothing about him. he was my pick to be the man that can win the game for liverpool.
liverpool has a squad enough to win tropies, but it’s just one factor that they lack. x-factor.
notice how recent years, liverpool is always showing how great a squad they have on paper, and don’t produce what they were expected in the first half of the season, then comes the late rush of forms which is already too late for anything except a champions league spot. then comes the next season, and they get active in the market again, then players have to get used again, and the stories goes in circles again. rafa’s system is very good for late season gust of staminas, but not during the first half of the season when players need to blend.

acting like a child gets you no where. they should learn from their mistakes but you shouldn’t go anywhere near to calling names.

My last point brought me to another.

Yeah, even as a Liverpool supporter I don’t see how someone could argue he isn’t the best in the world. His attitude annoys me some times, though.

And I’m in Ga, Usa…by the way

I think Mascheranho was lucky to stay on pitch even though he had fouled Giggs and Ronaldo after getting one yellow already. Personally he damaged the fun coz I am sure United cd hv beaten them handsomely with him ON and so have to live without that fact.
