Who cares if the ref called a penalty, Man U couldnt finish at all. Carrick should have scored but somehow didnt. Evra hit the post, but it was a nice save from James. Portsmouth just happened to get a penalty and scored from it. You can blame the ref for it but Man U should have atleast had one goal by then

lucky lucky portsmouth…congrats to you. yes it was definitely a penalty, distin essentially bodychecked ronaldo with no intent to play the ball. and yes it was not a red card (not a definite goal scoring opportunity since anderson hald already gotten back to defend and rooney was standing on the line), but refs make mistakes an man utd should have put at least one of those chances away. they didn’t so portsmouth deserved to win - I hate it, but its true.

shoulda finished but we didnt.

i dont blame the defense for giving up a goal. most teams give up a goal. our offense should have put at least 2 of those in.

unlucky, bad finishing and a **** ref. but it was our loss and our fault. no excuses for the result.

btw, there are NO big 4 teams in the competition.

I pick barnsley for the cup. They beat chelsea and liverpool. Only 2 prem sides left in i think, boro and portsmouth. this is going to be a fun one. imagine, cause its entirely plausible: an ALL CHAMPIONSHIP final for the FA Cup. This is great for the sport. it is year of the underdogs.

*** was that??!! I am dissapointed!!! Call it bad luck or the reffs fault. The pompeys were outplayed, number of great chances… It was players fault. Blame them. They didnt respect the oposite side. look at rooneys chance and carricks. I am getting worried about our chances of winning anything at all…the ManU players are just to egoistic! They should concentrate on playing not talking about treble and that kind of crap…the game is not won off the field but on the field. Obviously…i just cant see as winning anything. We should have won that kind of games without problems, like arsenal does, like we did last year!!!! The games like that do make you champion not ones with arsenal and chelsea. There was definitely an element of luck to pompey’s victory however, Harry Redknapp was correct to employ the only tactic that was feasible to get through the game which was to defend like ****, play counters and hope for the best… so well done to pompey

Ronaldo denied of a clear penalty.
Tevez’s shot cleared off the line.
Carrick’s shot cleared off the line….somehow….
Evra’s shot denied by the post.

Really, i felt United should have gotten the penalty (i’m not complaining, though,I am an Arsenal fan) but all in all i felt Portsmouth deserved to win. They defended superbly. Bad luck really for Man U.

Brave ref, and i think he got all the decisions right. For the Pompey penalty, why did Man U put Anderson one of their best attacking players on the half way line??
