Does anyone else feel like the whole trying to humanise C Ronaldo doesn’t quite work? I mean watching him stirring vegetables in a pot, I just sit here and think, wait… he eats? So he is human? That’s kind of a let down. :(
micojoia | March 7th, 2008 @ 9:33 pm
Ronaldo is keeping everyone in this expectation that he’s going to stay in England. Not a chance, he’s from Madeira, a Island where the sun shines all day almost every day. He has expressed lot’s of discontent to many portuguese television stations in private interviews on how he hates the weather in England, that to me is a great factor to propel him out of England. I think at this moment he’s just being “nice” to SAF and the club because he knows that they helped him a great deal to what he has achieved so far..

yeah no kiding, what about a girl, he get’s fan mail, wedding bands, pictures and the whole bit and they have fun with that? it looks like CR7 needs DR. Ruth to help him out..

think about what you just said mico, leave the biggest team in the world…..just because of weather? that’s just plain retarded. he’s got the team in Manchester to achieve everything he wants, and the coaching staff and manager to help him grow even more, he would be wasted in Barca/Real.

I am not a huge fan of Ronaldo but I think he fits well with Manchester United. Being transfered to Spain would be a huge mistake because he’ll most likely move to Barcelona or Real Madrid which are already packed with talent. He’ll probably have to take a backseat to other players like Henry. Or maybe not, maybe he’ll be at the center of the team there, too. It’s not a risk worth taking, though, in my opinion. Don’t ruin a good thing.
1234567890 | March 8th, 2008 @ 1:07 am
To clear up any confusion, I don’t mean he would take a backseat to Henry. I meant he would have to take a backseat sort of like Henry did when he left Arsenal where he was the main go-to guy.

Great Video, im a big Man U fan and i think he is the greatest player in the world, today in sports its so hard to see someone stay with a club/team the majority of their career, CR7 might leave sooner or later but for now just enjoy the ride and be grateful to witness a special talent on the pitch

Ronaldo is the best player in the world at the moment! Kaka’s magic failed to work against Arsenal. I guess all defenders in the world have failed to do their homework for this long, or it is that they skip their soccer lessons lol

caps | March 8th, 2008 @ 3:04 pm
the video quality is great. about cronaldo, i still dont feel for this guy. sure hes got skill, hes flashy, but to me hes nothing special when it comes to heart and honor. to me, a player like paolo maldini really sticks out. he is the one when i think of a class act. maybe if cronaldo matures not as a player, but as a person, i might give him some respect. just stop the crying, the diving, the temper tantrums… man up, son
msal | March 8th, 2008 @ 4:50 pm
the greatness in this man comes from a keen desire to excel everyday, be it in training or a match. he reiterates what human beings were created for, for the magic that we possess to excel ourselves in search of greater and greater creativity and search for truth. this is a man that defines how God created man in his own image. i thank God for letting me encounter such an experience.

Yeah i agree, ronaldo is going to eventually leave in a couple of seaons, its pretty obvious. With his talent, an incredible offer will come by that he won’t refuse.
And YES he is human, just a special human :D

It’s with great displeasure that I say, CR7 is the best player in the world right now, as Liverpool fan, it pains me to say just how good he is, but FACT, he is by far the best player in the world, and the stats back it up, “do your homework”? defenders watch hours of tape, and still can’t predict what he will do

Everytime he touches the ball, you inch towards the edge of your seat waiting for something unbelievable to happen…admit it. The only athlete I can say that of had been Michael Jordan. Cristiano Ronaldo is gifted beyond his years. The best is yet to come.

I honestly do not think England is Ronaldo’s home, being that if he had the choice again he’d move elsewhere… however the relationship he has with The Red Devils is just too great! He plays among an elite league, it would be sad to see him leave.
That convo with Henry foreshadows his move!
Dima | March 9th, 2008 @ 3:30 pm
He is the best. Period. Top scorer in the league as a midfielder.. comeon, this kid is just brilliant.
It astounds me to think how much further he can go,
The trickery, The confidence, The speed, The creativity, It’s all there.. And this is coming from an Arsenal Fan.
Thanks for posting, Great video.

I hate manchester united but i think CR7 is one **** of a player and he is so young. He definately has the ability and the time ahead to make us say- Ronaldinho who? He needs to mature, i know confidence is important and CR7 has alot gooing for hima so i guess he can be as confident a he want but he needs to take it down a schooch. In my eyes he is not the best player for the simple reason that he plays for a team of stars. A true legend will take a avarage team and take them to victory CR7 can’t do that in major clubs. Manchester united is not a passionate team.

Cristiano Ronaldo is best in the world right now. Many people make judgement calls on him, but they disregard the man underneath the reputation and hype. Hes got a dedication and commitment that is admirable. No one over thinks of that. All they recall is the media-inflated offense he committed in the long past.
and manchester united is one of the most passionate clubs around.

U named some great players but u missed a few:
Francesco Totti, Riquelme, Giggi Buffon(best goal keeper, love it or hate it),L Del piero, Trezeguet, As far as the tv set joke umm ok good one buck. Im guessing u love man utd, hey there a great team plus they gt all the money they suck out of there supporters(they earn it) but cristiano ronaldo need to proove what kind of player he is. A player that makes players around him play better, how the **** is heck is he gonna do that with great players already around him: rooney, Tevez, etc JESUS

cory | March 14th, 2008 @ 10:21 pm
on paper, england are a favorites to win anything they do.
in real llife, not really.
maybe capello can fix that. Theyve got talent for the next ten years: Rooney, Agbonlahor, Foster, Walcott, lennon, and more coming into the team.
however, considering the players they need a new style. and ATTACKING style. quick counterattack flowing play style. Manchester united and arsenal style. NOT england *yawn* style.

One think i love Cristiano Ronaldo, He never give up on keep trying. Few years ago, he tried so hard even tough sometimes he failed but he never stop until season 2006/2007 he becomes one of the best player. Until now also he is still keep trying. His freekick, last time he usually blow it wide but he never been afraid of trying again and again until now he becomes good at it and scored a couples good free kick. One thing i learn from him, even tough people boo him and some hates him, He never stop trying new tricks and tactic and strategy. He just keep on trying and trying and never give up that why now he is one of the best. Because some people when they failed to do a trick or strategy they give up and even in life some people when they failed they give up but not this GUy this CR 7 gives up is never ever in his dictionary. Thats the reason i think he is one of the best in the world.

i love cristiano, and i think he is the best footballplayer in the world. i feel like i am getting to know him very well, i have never met him, but I saw him three weeks ago, he was 2 meters in front of me (in his car) he smiled to me and waved with his hands. :d I allso red his book and he has been thew very much, he seems like a nice person and lets just hope that he stays in manchester forever. i know that someday, he will go to spain, and mabye back to portugal to end his career where it started. But he will not leave England before he has won the champions league with manchester united.

honestly, i wish i could meet ronny and talk to him for a few just to get to know him. i mean sure he is a great player, and he has great techniques, and stats, but i don’t think people can judge players solely based on plays on the pitch. i think character matters a lot. how he leads the team, how he interacts with the team, and how he contributes. flashy techniques don’t do much good in leading a team, or holding the team together. i think that’s why he’s not ready to be a captain yet. but i never know, i haven’t met him yet. but what i see on the pitch is that he gets cocky. he needs to see that there were better players before him, and that there will be better players after him. it’s only matter of time. but seriously, i hate how he gets cocky sometimes.

The MUSIC in the Intro and Ending is by John Murphy & Underworld, and is from the movie SUNSHINE starring Cillian Murphy.
The soundtrack for the movie has not been released yet and the movie came out 1 year ago. Legal wrangle between Underworld & Murphy over which songs go on Underworlds album and the Sunishine OST.
there are mp3 versions of the song ripped from the DVD of the movie floating around the internet.
there are two songs with the same theme, the first is “WHAT DO YOU SEE?” and the other “THE SURFACE OF THE SUN”.
the version in the ITV documentary is played with more guitars than the originals.
I hope this helped you all.

I like to watch him play but just like anyone else who plays with it too much, he’ll get cocky and then someone is going to hack him while he’s playing with the ball and he’ll get hurt. Too bad tho, he’s got mad skills. Hopefully he’ll stay in the Premier league tho, I like and know that league the best. Makes MLS look like a bunch of high school players.

Would everyone quit saying he is the best player ever. It isn’t even a contest compared to careers such as Platini, Cruyff, Zidane. He hasn’t even won many awards or club competitions yet, seriously! He is young & talented, but he has to really prove himself first, don’t you think? I am not mesmerized by all his ineffective tricks, CR needs to come up with something that works like Ibrahimovic can.

JT, I understand your concern. But very few are calling CR7 the best player ever. He may still have a challenger for best of 2008. That’s what Capello thinks:
http://thebestplayerintheworld.blogspot.com/2008/04/capello-not-yet-convinced-ronaldo-is.html
Still, despite what Capello says, for the year, we currently have him at number one by a long margin.

I have to agree that Ronaldo is not the greatest ever player. However, I think he can be. That title can only come after a full career of great performances. If Ronaldo continues to play the way he has this season and keeps improving for the rest of his career, he can have s hout at that title. For now, we cannot say he is or is not the best player ever. We can definitively say, however, that he is by far the best player right now. Ronaldo has led United to 1 EPL and a CL semi, and now this year he in all likelyhood will have another EPL and possibly a CL to that. Hes not won anything iwth Portugal yet, but his national team, which he captains at 23, is very promising. Ronaldo has a long ways to go in his career, and must do a lot to claim the title of worlds greatest player ever, but it is a goal he can achieve.
However, for ineffective tricks, I think that’s a bit harsh. He is very good at beating players, and you must admit a few things about his development:
06/07 season:
-develops a consistent end product.
-develops a ruthless scoring touch.
-improves on diving
-develops emotional resillience
07/08 season:
-improves goalscoring touch
-produces consistent solid big game performances
-improves diving
-decreases useless showmanship by simplifying game while maintaining crowd-pleasing flair
-develops consistently deadly free kicks
08/09 season:
-who knows…
Ronaldo has really broken out of his shell and if he continues to improve the way he has these last two seasons then it must be said that his name can be put up against Zidane, Maradonna, Cruyff, Platini, Best…

I think that he looks up to Ronaldo as some sort of superhuman, and realizing that Ronaldo is actually a **** sapien and not a **** superien or something like that is kinda disappointing. He didn’t want his superhuman image of Ronaldo ruined.
Mo | May 4th, 2008 @ 10:59 am
I think Ronaldo’s development has been nothing short of brilliant, while he has a concistency and determination to his game that seems to be improving all the time. The only part of his game he needs major work on now is his performance in big games. For eg against barca he gave away possesion nearly every time when he got the ball, didn’t really make many great passes, and was geneally subdued all game. All of this happens while messi, who has been nowhere near as consistent, managed to raise his game for the big occasion and made ronaldo look second best on every occasion. Nevertheless, as a man utd fan i’m extremely grateful to have made it through and hope that ronaldo, as well as the rest of the team, performs to their best to get revenge on chelsea.
cory | May 4th, 2008 @ 11:26 am
i disagree with that Mo
in the first leg, ronaldo had no support and no service and he was playing as a lone striker. in that position, if your team cant get you the freakin ball, you are NOT supposed to drop back and get it. when he did get it, it was 1 v 4 and he had no teammates in the area to help. what was he supposed to do? not much.
at home, messi lost the ball more than ronaldo. And i actually counted it when i rewatched the game. ronaldo also made more great plays while at home. whenever ronaldo got the ball with support, he did easily as well as messi did. that was the key, barac always had players for messi to pass to, ronaldo had support half the time. it made it aappear like messi was having this amazing game, but really, messi lost the ball as often as he kept it when he tried to make something happen.

Ronaldo is indeed going to leave Man Utd at some point in the future. But I’m quite confident it won’t be before Sir Alex Ferguson retires. He owes to much to that guy.
On a side note,if Ferguson really does get an out and out striker to pair up with Rooney,my bet is that Ronaldo’s goals tally will decrease in the coming season, and that he’ll be giving out more assists instead.Only then will he truly live up to the definition of a winger.
But of course if he still scores as much as he did this season I wouldn’t be surprised. He just keeps pushing the limits.

dsl | June 19th, 2008 @ 9:00 am
is he the best? maybe. One thing is for sure, it’s either him, messi or kaka now.
He had better not join Real, he would never get the same accolades in his career.
Some might say Manchester United is the biggest club on the planet, and some might say Cristiano Ronaldo himself is as big as the club itself.
Put him on Real and he is no longer the golden boy, in the spotlight. He is one of many heroes/stars. However one could argue if you are the best in the world it should not matter what (big) club you go to, as you will always be the star.
At the same time, say he moves to Barcelona. He and Messi would probably dominate the competition for years to come, however it would never be just him, Messi would not be his sidekick they would be in equal light for the rest of their careers. Sure its great but it’s not like being Michael Jordan like they said here in the video. No one would deny Mike had a great team but he was still the man.
All I’m saying is if he wants to be the man, stay in Man U, Beckham could tell you that.
Jonathan | June 20th, 2008 @ 12:21 pm
Did anyone see that horrible display Ronaldo might have called defense? Ronaldo was a couple yards behind Klose and after he scored Ronaldo threw up his hands like it was someone else’s fault. The whole Euro 2008 tournament Ronaldo was crap. The only way he can excel is in the midst of crappy English Premier League clubs like Wigan, Derby, Newcastle, & everyone else that is not in the top 6. I will be the first to admit he is a great talent & will also agree that he was the best player last year, but can we all wake up and quit praising him like he’s some kind of god. He is a diver, a cry baby, a sore loser, does not know how to play defense, greedy, and on top of all a bad role model.

Jonathan | June 25th, 2008 @ 4:58 pm
I am not mad. I am trying get through all the hype of CR and let people know what kind of athlete he really is. Not the model you see in Vogue magazine, or the guy making boatloads of cash from all his sponsorship deals. So many people are disillusioned as to what Cristiano really does and they end up supporting him because he gets a lot of press or he’s in their favorite magazine. There are a lot of critics out there that point out the bad things about his game, but these are very obvious & valid points. Football is not just about scoring goals.
And to David, if you don’t have something to contribute to the topic of discussion post on a board where they don’t talk about football, but how ***** you sound talking about my non-existent homosexual lifestyle.
lala 1234 | June 27th, 2008 @ 4:27 am
I wont say that ronaldo is a one trick pony, but he definitely isnt the best player in the world. I mean if he was he would have won the award which by the way was voted for by people who actually play that high level of soccer. Just look at his playing style carefully. People say he is versatile, theres no doubt about that, but he is versatile for a specific reason and that is to poke weak points in against other teams. It is precisely because of this that he can score 42 goals in all competitions in a season. and yet miss two penalties in 3 games against chelsea. traditionally he starts on the right, but if he finds the full back can handle him, he’ll move to the left, and if both full backs can handle him, he drops back to a deeper role. he overly relies on the man u players like scholes, giggs etc. to set everything up for him and also on ferdinand and vidic to clear up any mess he leaves behind when he goes for a dive and doesnt get a foul. its most apparent in euro 2008 when the portugese defense werent always up to the mark. apart from that when deco couldnt conjure up some magic in midfield, ronaldo could hardly do anything.
and honestly, to give up ronaldo for 80m pounds is a ridiculously good deal. SAF is getting senile to not let go of ronaldo. 80m think of what you can do with that money. you could buy torres, adebayor and benzema with 80m and have spare cash. not forgetting that having 2 strikers adding up to 66 goals in all competitions means you could throw wayne rooney and tevez away to get a real rightback like sagna or ramos then you could chase after new youngsters like aaron ramsey to bolster your midfield. think about it. CR is a good player, but just because hes good, doesnt mean he cant be overrated (which he is)
Jonathan | June 27th, 2008 @ 12:21 pm
No one player is worth more than 50 million pounds. The only team that would pay that is Real Madrid & I guarantee he would be there to just sell jerseys and make appearances, just like Beckham did.
Alex709 | July 16th, 2008 @ 2:21 am

I love to watch C.Ronaldo playin even though he is selfish sometimes. He is the best footballer at the moment and he is doing good job with his team mates, you can tell this by seeing their result premier league and champions league winners. he and his team ( MANCHESTER UNITED ) doing a great job. what i want to say is stay where you at CR7 there is no better coaching stuff than this . be smart and don’t make the mistakes others made. watch Ryan Giggs .:x
jonathan | July 30th, 2008 @ 1:07 pm
Without Carlos Queiroz Manchester United coaching staff is *****. Yomanche, you need to look at how much money ManU has spent on the players not the coaching. It’s disgusting the amount they spend and pirate from teams like the recent aquistion of Davide. ******!
Look towards Wenger or Benitez for good coaching now that Sven is gone. Thaksin made the mistake of a lifetime letting him go.
MN | July 30th, 2008 @ 1:57 pm
erm,jonathan..
you’re clearly a man utd hater..
and no beckham did not just make appearances and sell jerseys for real madrid..
you are in fact very misguided i really doubt if you know a thing or two about football..
but yes i do agree wenger is a great coach.not rafa, not sven. those two don’t belong in the same breath as wenger or fergie, the two greatest managers of EPL.
Xavier F | July 31st, 2008 @ 12:30 am
I hate Man U,& I just don’t like the amount of money they load onto the club like Chelsea & Arsenal do as well. God forbid the EPL loses it’s imported talent due to 6+5.
Besides do you really believe that the **** Fergie is really a good coach? I’m sure you could get similar results if you were running things with amount of talent united has bought. By the way anyone in the know will tell you that Queiroz was running the show. Fergie sits in the stands and took his advice & when one of his overpaid signings scored he jumped up and down like the **** he is. For the amount of years he has been there he should have done alot more to consider himself a good coach.
By the way MN, Benitez has won an amazing amount of silverware for his very short time coaching FA Cup, La Liga, Uefa Cup, Champions League, etc.. Sven has a better winning record as well and to boot they have gone international and had success at more than one club. Ferguson & Wenger can’t really say that now can they. I believe that you need to do more than just watch football to understand how complex it is. Real Madrid is a business, just like MAn U.
Of course he was there to sell jerseys, do you even know what % of his image rights he was getting 50%. That means Real Madrid made a small fortune from him. Check your facts you geezer before you put your own foot in your mouth.

my oh my..man utd spend a lot of money u say?
what do you expect? they won the premier league title every other year. what are they supposed to do with the money they earn from their own successes? donate to charity? check. invest in youth? check. let the money rot and don’t spend it? no way.
and i agree beckham did help r madrid to sell jerseys..
but do you really believe deep down his main purpose there was to sell jerseys? because that was the point i was trying to emphasise in my earlier comment. that he was at r madrid to help the club progress and not solely to sell jerseys.
and btw, fergie was already one of the most successful manager in the EPL (the 95-96 double with all the youngsters, the 99 treble, and the 99,00,01 consecutive epl wins which no one has ever done before, need i say more?) way before quieroz even came to united.. but i do admit he had a lot of hand in building the current man utd squad and that he will be sorely missed..
lastly, yes rafa n sven r both good coaches. i never said they weren’t.but really, comparable to fergie’s achievement? if his success at man utd doesn’t convince you, then perhaps his uefa cup winners cup victory over r madrid in the final with aberdeen will? n one more thing, fergie coached scotland for abt a year in 1985. he won nothing. and so did sven in his 5 year reign with a much more talented england squad than the scottish squad fergie had. i don’t see how sven is better than fergie in the international scene. more experienced perhaps, but statistics doesn’t proves that sven is better.
as much as i hate it football is turning into a business, and so is man utd. i just have to accept that. but i sleep soundly at night knowing our rich history and tradition are still in tact.

ok so i think ronaldo might be the best player right now. but he hasnt proved anything yet. everyone is getting hyped up like they did for kaka but he was only amazing for a couple of seasons. same with rooney. ronaldinho suxks now. henry also. he has to prove to be consistent in the next few years in order to truly be called one of the best. and he has to be great.not good. i admit his last season was great. but great players are good with their international teams and club teams

as for spain, you could end up being michael owen or Makelele, its a big risk but in 1 or 2 years ronaldo will leave
arsenal | August 19th, 2008 @ 10:19 pm
You will know a great player when u see one. When ronaldinho has the ball, you eyes just stays glued to the screen in anticipation. Its the same way with ronaldo, kaka, robinho, messi u name it.Just because u might think this guy is better than this, you cant deny that their abilities are some of the best in the world. Sometimes when Gattuso is close to a player with the ball, im always anticipating an amazing tackle or even clichy. When he charges down the side, you sometimes anticipate this great passing play by arsenal.
arsenal | August 19th, 2008 @ 10:23 pm
or when walcott or agbonlahor charge at full speed you expect no one to stop them unless you can spy John terry from the corner of your eye or gerrard. One last example. When Michael Essien is just outside the box you scream shoot! Why because you know if its on target no goalie will stop the ball. That how you realize you are looking at a great player.

Frankly speaking I’m not Man U or Portugal fan, but i should admit that Ronaldo is one of the best player ever exist in this world, his freekick, long-range shot, corner, header, dribbling and his skill is beyond other player and he play in his own level of soccer.. and this achievement is the proved of it..

Ronaldo, believe it or not, is more human than other footballers in the world right now. thats why he screws up every other time he gets the ball. messi, aguero, zlatan, gerrard, kaka, maybe robinho are better overall than ronaldo. As a Real fan, I’m so glad Ronaldo decided to stay at Man Utd, I’d much rather prefer Messi, who is 10 times better and more effective, but of course, out of loyalty I’m forced to hate him. I hope Man Utd keep Ronaldo so Madrid never gets anymore crazy ideas. With the money Real would have spent on a pre-madonna like Ronaldo, we could get Mascherano and Zlatan. I think Ronaldo should learn a little from his younger fellow footballers, Messi and Aguero.

This is a very good video. Have you guys seen the translation we made of Cristiano Ronaldo's Os Incriveis? It is a Portuguese show that features Cristiano Ronaldo in depth and personal at his home in Manchester. The translation will show you a side of Cristiano that you have never seen before. Here's the link if you're interested. http://www.youtube.com/user/Ronny7dotcom
