bridge clearly handled the ball enough for the penalty. tottenham form and style have been outsanding lately. yes they’ve had a rough season but you cant deny them a great showing. you can only congratulate each team on a great game. it was only apparent that spurs fought harder and left it all on the field. bottomline is that spurs felt they had something to prove and they did.

Aha, nothing more to say about today than the better team won. FACT. I’m waiting for the generic arsenal banter “who cares its only the carling cup” but what the hey its one more trophy than u tossers have this season, plus all of our strikers still have both legs intact which is also a bonus. U on the other hand are on ur way to another season of winning nothing having spent 10 odd million on a striker with half a leg.

Hey, Martin Taylor, I’ll agree that the better team won but that last quip about Eduardo is really tasteless. Exactly how does demeaning Eduardo’s injury and pointing out that all of Tottenham’s strikers are fully fit prove anything? Congrats on the cup and try and handle the win a little more gracefully in future.

To be fair Eduardo went down a bit easy, and clearly was looking for a reaction from the referee and the fans, which is disgusting. I heard that surgery did not go well and all I can say is what goes around comes around as Eduardo has been trying to break legs for years.
If he ever recovers the ability to walk he should be banned from football for life.
Fair play to Martin Taylor for helping to remove this blister in the world of footy. If we follow his example we will be able to join together and kick the filth out of football.

That was not a hand ball and Chelsea were the better team for most of the game the only point where spurs were dominating was in the beginning of the game. And to even put the penalty in further doubt the spurs player also hit the ball with his hand so it should not have been a penalty1) because there was no time for him to react to get his hand out of the way. 2) the other player also handled the ball and by the way i am also a referee and i am shocked at the decision which was given by the lines man come on FA these sort of things should be pointed out and the referee should be able to ask someone with the camera for a second opinion Chelsea had that game for the taking.reply to my comment let me hear your thoughts.

I’m an Arsenal fan and was really impressed with Spurs victory today, they were the better team and deserved their win. Having lost in the final last year i know the taste of defeat to Chelsea so fair play to Spurs, congrats. But i am absolutely disgusted by certain individuals that feel the need to bring Eduardo’s injury into the discussion. There were chants at the game making a mockery of his career threatening injury. Having had such an excellent performance and won the Carling Cup why is there the need to attack your rivals…surely the silverware is enough to celebrate? I appreciate that this is just relating to the minority of individuals and i know that Arsenal, Spurs and the rest of the footballing community alike wish Eduardo a speedy recovery, and have nothing but contempt for comments on the contrary. Well done Spurs, we’ll give you a better game next year :)

Questionable hand ball, ive seen that not called 1000 times – unintentional. Congrats to Ramos and the Spurs. Not trying to be smart but this will be the highlight of your season. Chelsea – time for the big fish lads. GO BLUES!
howie | February 25th, 2008 @ 3:31 am | | |
Well… Chelsea can beat Spurs 1000 times for all i care, but they didn’t today hahaha you must have been talking about a different Chelsea team aye ? Mourinho’s ? hehe
btw, I was reading Avram Grant’s ranting on the net, very bitter fellow, he can’t see any positive out of the game. He was saying that the referee should question the linesman decision ?? since when ?? we might as well question every offside decision they make or even better, just don’t use any linesmen haha anyway, it was a handball for pete’s sake, Wayne nudged the ball in front of him using his arm, maybe it was reflex but it sure is handball. and don’t give that “we dominated the game and they have that one chance and strike” excuse, spurs stayed calm under pressure, took their time and strike where it hurts.. and credits to them for doing so. That was a funny goal by woodgate lol he was like :-?? goal !! :d
Btw, brace urself, as Drogba is bailing..and so is Roman, he’s bored :d

Great game for spurs!
Obviously, on the pitch it shows which team are hungry for the cup.
People can say it’s by luck, but Tottenham outclassed Chelsea today especially in the final third (defence) of the pitch. Zokora did so well to nullify the chelsea midfield for most of the match. Chelsea’s tactic just didn’t work until Joe Cole was introduced whom i think finally produce a few scare for us. Lennon was disappointing mostly for last week and today but its nice to see him show what he is made of when we regain back the psychological edge after the penalty.
And it was a definite penalty. Mr Bridge touched the ball with his hands not once, but twice. Even the commentators and reports said that it was a result of panic defending by bridge under pressure from huddlestone. Btw, Drogba seems to make the most of the fouls against him hehehee and i always seem to forget that Anelka was actually playing as well..
we must give credit to cup specialist Ramos for getting the team to finally win something for a while in just a short period of time since his takeover. It has also ensure us qualification to Europe for next season! and hopefully that would put less pressure on the team in the league.
Let’s hope that this is the first step into bigger things! Audere est Facere!

Avram is Awful. He has no experience in coaching in the Top eauropean leagues never mind English League. The first priority he said was to bring in beautfiful football, at the moment, football is far worst, and at least mournho took advantage of lesser attractive football. Avram, you may have got few winning streak going on, but to me most matches were very unconvincing 1-0 win, and most win was edged by players strong mentality and committment to the club football. So please leave, before you even think that you are good enough to coach chelsea. The past 3,4 months will be ur achievement of life and you should appreciate it.

It is indeed a disgrace what “taylor” said above about Eduardo – I am a spurs fan and, you sir, are a disgrace to your team.

Spurs fans, this is just the beginning! compare the defensive display of tottenham yesterday to the start of the premier league, my god spurs have spent their money well in january.
all of the crises spurs had before Ramos took over (No good left back, no left foot on the pitch to cross a decent ball from the left or take a set piece, no-one decently playing the holding midfield role, cbs falling over or teeing it up for the opposition strikers *cough*Kaboul*cough* , AND ROBINSON chucking the ball into his own net/getting beaten from 40 yards every match)
all problems have been answered… juande is god!
I was disappointed to see Chelsea use their long ball, shot from 30 yards or set piece tactics but to be fair they didn’t look that comfortable as a team, why not play joe and ashley cole you’re just asking to get raped on the wing by steed, lennon, keane or berba or jenas
COYYYSSS!! UEFA CUP HERE WE COME

I am an avid spurs fan and firstly I have to say that the team, the manager, the coaches and fans were superb. Everything about the team yesterday was fantastic, no one can complain the result didn’t reflect the game as I feel Spurs should of had another 2 or 3. But as for Eduardo…. hummm. We all have a sick joke and laugh about the rivals players being injured, but when it comes down to it… its just a laugh. No one should really mean what they say about a horrific injury like Eduardo suffered. I am sure the rest of you true football fans (even the spurs ones) will join me in wishing Eduardo a healthy and speedy recovery and lets hope him being out causes some problems for Arsenal (sorry but yet again I am a true fan and all Arsenal fans would say the same if it was Berb and Spurs).

Congrats chelsea, you’ve got drogba back in the team, spending most of time on the deck putting his questionable acting skills to use, like the free kick, dying one minute, then running halfway across the pitch celebrating. Anyway just like follow that with ah well… it was all for nothing coz the mighty spurs owned the game, chelsea couldnt handle us and woodgate deserved man of the match, aside from a few moments, he marked drogba out of the game. COYS give us all that winning sensation in uefa as well.
PS: anyone who has pathetic comments to say about eduardo doesnt deserve to call themselves a football fan, and even moreso a human being.

On another note, even tho i am a united fan and i’d like nothing more than to see arsenal sink beneath us, i really wish all d best for eduardo, not just coz he’s a great footballing prospect but it’s a pity for the young lad who may never play football as well as he used to …. so quit it about “spending millions on half a leg” coz he’s still a great player :)

I have to say, from a neutral point of view, that it was great to see Chelsea lose and someone else with something, so well done Spurs. If the reports in England are to be believed on Tue by the way, then Grant could be on his way out of Chelsea sooner rather than later. Rumour has it, Terry was fuming at the uncertainty of what the team would be in the few days before the final and had a big fall out with Henk Ten Cate (assistant coach). Seems like Grant’s tactics in the game annoyed some senior players too who were frustrated with Anelka out wide.
