Everytime Man U loses there’s always an excuse. How about admitting they were JUST out played for once. :((
Gad | February 10th, 2008 @ 5:14 pm
yeah i admit it….. we woke up too late. :-w
Joe | February 10th, 2008 @ 5:14 pm
OUCH!!! That’s gotta hurt!!!
Joe | February 10th, 2008 @ 5:17 pm
Man U is FINISHED! Up City!!! Man U’s our B**** now.
Jon | February 10th, 2008 @ 5:19 pm
As a man u fan, i’ve got to admit man utd did choke this time.. No, there aren’t any excuses. Rooney might of changed the score line, but overall man utd just can’t beat Derby’s defense.
cory | February 10th, 2008 @ 5:20 pm
nicholas, no one has made an excuse yet. don be an @$$, oh, too late.
we were outplayed. plain and simple. bla bla we didnt have rooney, or evra, or saha, but really, we should be able to lose 2 players and still win at home. city played better than us. we know it. the staff admits it. the captain admitted it. the fans admit it.
how about you not be a *** and blame us for stuff we arent doing? got it? ok, good.
cory | February 10th, 2008 @ 5:24 pm
joe- titles, thats all i have to say. you can win a game but you have ZERO trophies in like 20 years. Match that to 9 premierships, plus a CL, and lots of FA and Carling cups. City’s our B****, has been for years.
RedDevil | February 10th, 2008 @ 6:11 pm
Couldn’t have said it better cory…both times
abdi | February 10th, 2008 @ 6:16 pm
cheers cory
Nicholas | February 10th, 2008 @ 6:21 pm
haha cory, you’re hilarious. They blame it on fatigue. Read once in a while, ok? I’m still waiting to Fergies stetment on bad tackling and poor refing since that’s what he’s done with every previouis loss this season. Goodluck Ol’ Traffah.
Cheers cory, abdi, and RedDevil! booyah!
Roxii | February 10th, 2008 @ 6:40 pm
As a ManUtd fan I have only 1 thing to say:
We cannot blame no one other then ourselves.
There’s no excuses to such things.
But please, no Arsenal fans coming here and say that are going to win it. Its a long journey and to determine where the league is going will be a foolish & stupid thing to do.
EVERY team will drop points so watch out for more changes.
r3d d3vils | February 10th, 2008 @ 6:53 pm
Manchester United is a great club; excellent players, wonderful tactics.
I believe its the strongest team in the Premier League. However, for some odd reason, we lose once in a while.
I just hope we can catch up to Arsenal and lift the trophy again.
:”>
manutdfan | February 10th, 2008 @ 6:53 pm
i think that we missed evra
Moe | February 10th, 2008 @ 7:01 pm
I am a big Arsenal fan and I am here not to say it’s over and that we are going to get the title. I am here to let all of you “Man-U” fans know that WHEN CR does not perform well or does not sore, Man-U does not win. It’s about CR…it’s just obvious and very noticeable. With all respect and Good Luck next time…!!
mwtf | February 10th, 2008 @ 7:01 pm
haha i had a feeling that man city would have won and..they did!
C T I D | February 10th, 2008 @ 7:04 pm
F U C K utd fans. well most of em. u can stick ya trophies up your ****..

No its NOT about Ronaldo. It’s also about Rooney. He wasn’t there and the attack looked dead withot him. Also Evra wasn’t there nd we missed him.
So stop saying we are a one man team. Just saying that won’t make you better than us.
ABDI | February 10th, 2008 @ 7:33 pm
well said roxii man utd are more then just ronaldo rooney is also big part of united and manutd just did not perform to our usual standerds today
well you arsenal fans watch out we will stick it to you guyz in the FA cup
4ev3r | February 10th, 2008 @ 8:59 pm
ATTN: Nicholas
yes they said fatigue played a part in the defeat but-
Giggsy today:
“It was probably the result that City deserved really. They played better than us,” he said.
Carlos:
“That combination cost us – the counter-attacking attitude of City and the way we approached the game. I don’t believe we played in the right way. We had no tempo, no inspiration. We started the game with some anxiety, we tried to win the game too early against a team that is always well organised.
“We cannot talk about that as an excuse but in my opinion, the players were affected. It always happens when the players play friendlies during the week – every time they come back they’re affected. Our players, especially some of our best players, were not sharp.”
read once in a while k?
tolik | February 10th, 2008 @ 10:27 pm
i well man u sucked now arsenal have really good chance to fun premier league cup. Go arsenal go
cory | February 10th, 2008 @ 10:34 pm
4ev3r- well quoted.
nick- i do read, in fact, i probably read more than you do. something you might want to try when you read: reading into the factors that led to the responses quoted by the media, and the context in which the quote is taken, as well as the attitude of the person being quoted. there is often more than what you read being said. we all know we deserved a loss.
manutdfan- i think we missed rooney more. idk y saf played with 5 midfield. BRING OUT WELBECK!! agh! we dont play well with 5 man mid. and giggs/ronaldo are NOT strikers! agh! With Rooney, we probably would have won, cause the main problem was the lack of movement in the final 3rd. But still, we should be able to lose 1 player and still win. its the rooney curse. every loss has been when rooney’s out. IMO, we should not have loaned out manucho. we need another striker.
cory | February 10th, 2008 @ 10:37 pm
CTID- it says something about city as a team that their greatest (an only) joy is being able to beat us. Win a title, then talk.
cesc | February 10th, 2008 @ 10:39 pm
rooney is just out of form right now….unlike adebayor
cory | February 10th, 2008 @ 11:23 pm
hes definately out of form. adebayor is definately in form.
However, i do expect this suspension to galvanize him back into goalscoring form. He had a great game for england, despite AGAIN not being clinical.
Mista Footy | February 11th, 2008 @ 12:02 am
what a dissapointing loss in the derby , however every team loses now and then, hopefully we can rebound and go on a good streak, there’s still plenty of games to catch up to arsenal, they are bound to hit some trouble and thats when we have to take advantage if we want to repeat as champions, glory glory MAN UTD!!!!!!

Ah come on cory, the thing I hate most about United fans is how terribly fairweather they all are, what did ol’ Fergie describe the atmosphere at Old Trafford to at the beginning of the season? A funeral was it? Truth is more than half of United’s fans are just football tourists, they’ll support anyone as long as they’re winning matches, and the other half, like you, just have a big fat crush on Christiano Ronaldo. United fans were more quiet in the second half than they were during the moment of silence that they made such a fuss about. Any real set of fans would have rallied behind their team. Ferguson has no class, he’ll take the mickey out of referees, blame opposition for playing “too rough,” or, like today, will be so upset that he’ll just run back to the dressing room and cry his poor little eyes out without offering any comment to the press. Heck, he wouldn’t of let Rooney play in the world cup in 06 if he had his way. And as far as the suspensions and the fatigue go, we had our wonderkid elano out suspended and our star back Corluka and we had a fair number of international call-ups yet we made due, even with our dreadful luck with injuries. All in all lads, our time is coming, and for sure Sunday was our day.
MCFC FAN | February 11th, 2008 @ 9:02 am
I was at the match and what they didnt show on match of the day was Ronaldo having his little tantrums and stamping his feet. Also the same reason fergie left right at the end. United might win alot but are all sore losers.
dude | February 11th, 2008 @ 10:18 am
[-( u **** right we r sore losers!!y sud we like losing :-w
it was pretty painful 2 watch us go down 2 the crappiest team on the planet :-l but fair play 2 city =d>
Roxii | February 11th, 2008 @ 10:37 am
I was at the match and what they didnt show on match of the day was Ronaldo having his little tantrums and stamping his feet. Also the same reason fergie left right at the end. United might win alot but are all sore losers.
:-@:-@
Fergie left because he had to catch a quick flight to America to promote Summer’s tour.
Ronaldo stamping his feet shows that he has great passion for football, at least he didn’t went to kick the opposition players with frustration.
cory | February 11th, 2008 @ 10:47 am
mcfc 89- what does fairweather mean? never in my entire life have i heard that term. and thats a pretty broad generalization. i dont have a cruch no ronaldo, thank you. im a rooney fan :)>-
lol
but some of us do care about history, the babes, fergie’s fledglings, the long dry spell… we care about edwards, cantona, best, law, charlton… we care about rooney and ronaldo, yes, but we also care about welbeck, brandy, gibson, simpson, pique, fletcher, eagles, rafael, fabio, possebon, campbell, evans, and the rest of the youth lads.
not all fans are bandwagoners, but ill admit that there are many of them in our camp. that happens when you are a club of our size. being a city fan, you wouldnt understand that.
and i never made an excuse. read my posts again. we shoud have been able to cope with 2 missing players. we couldnt. we deserved to lose. and its not like i could have rallied my team on to victory, sitting at a computer on the far side of the freakin planet. i cant scream that loud.
MCFC fan- i would be having a tantrum too. after playing like garbage, for all th fans, and for all the people who died. i would be kicking myself. do you expect the mto leave smiling? be realistic. they were upset cause they cared about the game. cristiano doesnt like to lose. neither does saf. and this was the worst dayy, and the worst team, to lose against.
Adam | February 11th, 2008 @ 2:31 pm
Wonder what the excuse is? let me guess, hhmmm munich? or maybe cos they didint have there proper strip on oh wait maybe evra didint play, pfft excuses excuses
cory | February 11th, 2008 @ 8:41 pm
im not makin any exuses adam.
neither is giggs, the skipper, or anyone else. carlos said that the players were tired from internationals, and then said that that it is no excuse for how we played.
MCFC FAN | February 12th, 2008 @ 6:17 am
I agree passion should be part of the game but to act like that was just stupid. Ronaldo made his self look daft. Just wondering how many of you hardcore united fans actually went to the match or are even from manchester? The City fans were class on sunday giving respect what about all the united fans kicking off with us after the game just because they lost? wheres the respect there? even tried to kick off with my mate who is 62 and has only 1 leg!
dude | February 12th, 2008 @ 7:18 am
wow that loss really took its toll on us!:o
i have never seen the forum lacking so many united fans after a match. again fair play city and >:/ bring it on gunners
creativeskinhead | February 12th, 2008 @ 7:24 am
guys, stop insulting other people n teams…..its really annoying..:-w…we all have our good day n bad day…..it was man u bad day…btw…..i’m arsenal fan…..n they have a nice day yesterday….glad they r on top now…..:d
b-boy | February 12th, 2008 @ 9:24 am
I THINK IT’S TIME SOME PLAYERS GO LIKE SAHA, GIGGS (WHO WAS S**T ON SUNDAY), O’SHEA AND BROWN.
WORSE PERFORMANCE FROM A MAN U SIDE IN YEARS.
NEVER WANNA SEE US PLAY SO CR*P AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!
cory | February 12th, 2008 @ 10:36 am
the forum im on had a large discussion about this: knee-jerk reactions.
dont go into a selling frenzy cause of 1 game.
saha… maybe. Giggs? who else should we play? nani? hes even worse. every game, he cant decide if hes gunna be world class or league 1 quality. brown has been part of a defense that has been ridiculously good ALL SEASON. one bad game does not make a player. Oshea is a utility man. we know he isnt actually that great of a player, but his versatility is an asset to the team nonetheless.
brown is going to be vital next season, and for a few years to come. gary is fading out and simpson is too young still to play every game. and we dont want to buy a RB, we have simmo, who is definately good enough to make it. along with pique as well. and rafael da silva, the brazilian twin.
mancitylad | February 12th, 2008 @ 1:25 pm
cory get your facts right you dont even know the last time we won a trophy u CNUT if ronaldos not playin and you lose its cos of him the same with rooney your excuses are pathetic you need to grow up kid and realise that not one player makes your team. excuses all the time you were outbattled on every blade of grass, id be very embarrassed to be a utd fan at the moment that the players that you pay mammoth wages to failed to perform on the anniversary. Also like the way that utd fans come on message boards saying the want fergie and giggs etc out after a loss your all pathetic sad acts who probably see 1 game a season and claim you go to every game, you utd “fans” are becoming so predictable. oh and congrats to arsenal for winning the prem this year
tk | February 12th, 2008 @ 3:51 pm
very **** performance by the reds.. comin from a utd fan
but dont call them out so soon. 12 games left.
plus if this is really a battle of who’s better arsenal or manchester, wait till the fa cup’s match.
you arsenal fans are the immature ones, if we win or lose everytime you look at the discussion its all “man u sux” and “ronaldo is a girl”. fu*king grow up..
sully | February 12th, 2008 @ 7:27 pm
united were TACTACLY OUTSMARTED,OUTPLAYED,OUT SUNG,MORE EFFORT BY CITY,CITY WANTED IT MORE,MORE GRIT,BENJANIED,VASELLED,OUT CHEERED ALL GAME, the list goes on and on…….
Raging Narcoleptic | February 12th, 2008 @ 8:09 pm
**** City. You are the worst, most classless bunch of **** north of London. Even when you win you can’t keep your ****ing gobs shut. I haven’t heard one bad excuse for United losing that game, and you still think it’s not good enough. I don’t even know why we United fans even respond to your ridiculousness. In fact, I don’t know why I’m wasting my time posting this, but **** it. I just pray it’s another 30 years before you win two games against us in the League because up until today I thought Arsenal fans were the biggest ********* ever, but I was wrong.
cory | February 12th, 2008 @ 9:14 pm
sully- id agree with most of those. it was disappointing.
tk- that goes both ways. we do it to them. on this board, its the city lads who are doing it now. the arsenal fans havent been so bad. cheers to them. we’ll save that talk for next week.:)>-
mancitylad- when did i make an excuse? when? i said we should be able to play without either of them. get YOUR facts straight, especially before you say i need to get mine straight. thats hypocritical. i agree many fans do come on after a loss and shout get rid of xxxxxx. im not one of them. read! i was defending oshea brown and giggs. ill agree many are bandwagoners, but thats something you wouldnt know about. bandwagoners go where the trophies are. being a city fan, you wouldnt know much about that.
M.C.F.C.8.9 | February 12th, 2008 @ 9:16 pm
haha, yeah we were pretty classless when we honored your lovely minute of silence despite all the moaning that went on for months about it, but you wouldn’t have known that really cause I doubt you were at the match, heck you probably didn’t even catch it on tele which would explain why you were watching the highlights here, truth is we city fans are sick of having manchester invaded by people from all parts of the world who decided, for one bizarre reason or another, to support united and come into our city and think they’re better than us because of the shirt they wear, so for us this result was just a swift kick up those ****** backside
man u fan | February 12th, 2008 @ 9:48 pm
i feel so sad when man u lose this match.
but can denied that Man city is playing so well. I feel that Man U cant win this season..
Man city gloory..
Man u sux!!.. sorry i love Man u but i dunno how to describe .. only one word.. sux!!!!
cory | February 12th, 2008 @ 9:58 pm
mufc89- i agree with you actually. i respect the city fans who were there, cheers to that.
i dont know why everyone’s so mad. i was expecting actaully a lot worse.
the only thing ticking me off is when people say we are making excuses. im not, the team isnt, the players arent, most of the fans arent, the staff arent…
who are they talking about then?
and the other thing that gets me is when people break off and say sell: xxxxx, xxxxxx, xxxxx, xxxxx, xxxxxx, xxxxxx!!!!!
ABDI | February 12th, 2008 @ 10:17 pm
i agree cory it was a collective team failure and not the fault of ?????????????????????????????????
cory | February 13th, 2008 @ 1:03 am
exactly:
Ferdinand- careless
vidic- unconvincing
Brown- bad
oshea- uninspired
scholes- couldnt pass
anderson- fighting but not doing much
tevez- shut down
ronaldo- shut down
giggs- bad
nani- bad
carrick- scored, but didnt impact much
hargo- didnt contribute
who did play well this game???
this worries me. there have been a few games this season where we have been completely unconvincing. bolton, tottenham, city…
we need to step it up. we are too reliant now on ronaldo, tevez, and rooney. last year, we got goals from everywhere. this season, its been those 3 all the way.
our mids need to score more. they need to push into the box. like carricks goal, the striker makes a run, and a mid pushes into the gap, the other mids slides the ball through… finish… goal. simple. we need more of that. we are reliant now on some class from WR, CT, and CR to score. theyve had plenty for 95% of games. however, when they have a bad day, which is inevitable, we are stuck.
i hate to say it, but we really now rely on them. we didnt, now we do.
