ivory coast are much, much more skilled team, but drogba, worthless chel$ki, rent-boy piece of sh**, wasted so many chances to put ivory coast in front. i hate egypt, but they really did a great job on the counter-attack. i hope cameroon destroys them in the final. shaarmuta

pretty decisive win, i thought ivory should have destroyed them with star line up…not. So I guess Angola is better than Ivory b/ they seem to put up a better fight. In the end what does it matter b/ it is the S. Americans who tax everyone, but still a great game.

Nobody puts Cameroon’s back on the wall and gets away with it - let alone in African football!

I hate Egypt and North Africans in general for their arrogance, but I must admit they did well. However, the Ivory coast second choice goalkeeper (after first choice was injured) helped their course too. Ivory coast had the same problem in the world cup. Great players, but poor keeper.
I actually admired the Pharoahs this time round esp. Zidan and Aboutreka and Hassan. My favourite North African team still remains Morocco though. They may not be winning games, but they play really well. Remember how they crushed Scotland 3-0 in France 98?
I think Sunday’s final will be very close as Cameroon have a better goalie (Espanonyl’s Kameni) and the Egyptian goalie is so good. He denied Drogba point blanck on 3-4 occassions. We probably have the teams with the best goalies remaining. it may take a moment of brilliance to change the game. I predict Cameroon to win 1-0 after extra time or on penalty shootout.

great comment fa. it shows your depth of thought well.
idrom that’s also why i dislike egypt. but i’d say the they won was better tactics and poor defending by ivory coast. also, the egyptian goalie didn’t make any great saves; all of drogba’s shots were right at the keeper as was the free-kick. but i must admit zidan looks like he will be a very good player.
he is really bad; i’ve actually started watching the highlights on mute because of moments of pure commentary genius like this one, “Those of you with a keen eye might just notice a familiar face…he’s a big, strong defender and he goes by the name of kolo toure.” compared to this guy my commentary would be considered world-class. and i’m sure my voice isn’t nearly as annoying.
good luck to cameroon; i would hate to see egypt win two cups in a row.

one more thing,
stop blaming drogba ppl.
Football is a team game. You play as a team, win as a team and lose as a team. A team’s fate is not decided by the mistakes of one player. So those of you who think that cote d’ivoire would have done better if drogba had scored, u should look at the overall team effort.

EgyptSupporter,
I am not racist. Infact, am muslim like the Arabs, but I can’t stand the North African arrogance. I don’t know why you are so arrogant (outside the mosque that is). Thats why I would have preffered to see someone crash the pharaohs so they can keep quiet and stop bragging around.
FYI I was happy to see Morrocco lose 2-0 to Ghana. However, they still remain my favourite North Africa team as I love their 1998 star Mustapha Hadji. I have never admired Egypt anyway, but I must admit this time round Moha Zidan, Moha Aboutereka, and Al Hadri really impressed me. I consider Al Hadri the second best keeper of the whole tournament after Cameroon and Espanoyl’s Carlos Idris Kameni.

hey jay
ya sharmooota
and thats just the tip of the iceberg.. but on a brighter note, good job to all the teams.. African football is really on its way up and Africa has a bright future in football .. forget being north african or from the south or any of that.. We are all African and we should come together in improving the game on our continent and supporting our teams.. who knows.. maybe one day, the big players will look to play in Africa instead of Europe.. It’s possible!
shove the hating up ur *** and take that sorry *** elsewhere.. egypt won, arabs don’t like you, you’re jealous

btw Idrom,
North Africans, more specifically Egyptians, have EARNED their bragging rights in this tournament. Check the recordbooks. It doesn’t matter who you like. Egypt is good, it is undeniable. The whole arrogance thing though, might just be coming from some personal vendetta or something else, I can’t really say.. U know best though.. I suggest you see someone haha just kidding man

Egypt_pwns,
Yes, I agree Egypt is a good side. I have alot of Egyptian/North African friends and we always have this debate on the arrogance issue. Most of them admit though and we kind of laugh about it and move on. I should visit North Africa in future to learn more about that.
I support the North Africans so much in the world cup. Imagine I shed tears of joy the day Morocco crashed Scotland 3-0 in France 98. I am very emotional person and was happy to see an African side make us so proud. It was just unfortunate that Norway beat Brazil 2-1 in the last 7 minutes of the other game denying Mustapha Hadji, Hadda, and Youssef Chipo the second round. Where are those lads now by the way? I love them.
I was so proud to see Nigerian beat Spain 3-2 and Bulgaria 1-0 in France 98. What of Senegal’s wonder quarter final performance in Japan/Korea 02. Those are all great moments that drive me and many Africans.
I have never supported Egypt ever, but may be if they qualify for the world cup and shine like the teams above that will change. If they “earned their bragging rights” may be they should be in South Africa 2010. Zidan, Al Hadri, and Aboutereka have a great future. I wonder whether the latter 2 will be interested in a move to Europe or whether Zidan can go to a better team than Hamburg. He deserves better. I still don’t know why they didn’t give the player of the tournament to Zidan or Angola’s Manucho.

Idrom,
You just summed up basically all the moments that all African footbal fans should be proud of, no matter where they are from. I have nothing bad or argumentative to say. Proud to be African and proud that, as a continent, we have so much talent.
