  1. we dominated this game, just took a bit to get the goal. Great finish by Rooney.

However, both Rooney and Ronaldo seemed to be having a bad day, despite being the goalscorers.

Regardless, 3 points, and still table topping.

Good job on the clean sheet. Another star for the boys at the back.

  2. cant believe that we missed that goal, 3 v 2, and Ronaldo puts it right to the keeper!!!
    agh!

  3. Took our time with the goals and in truth ronny should have had another hat-trick but like the villa game ronny and wayne still saved the day.
The defence is in focus mode at the moment with another great game from Rio and Vidic.
I still can’t believe that Ronaldo has 23 goals already and 17 in the league. He’s gonna break his own record…..maybe shatter it.
The points are in the bag so i’m happy…..plus the way that rooney celebrated his goal was just how i felt about the win.
Quick Question: Is Ronaldo, Rooney & Tevez the new Holy Trinity?
(The old one was Bobby Charlton, Denis Law & George Best)

  4. The pitch seemed wet preventing the slick counter attacking movement of United. The defence was excellent but careless at times. Rooney as usual miffed some chances but delivered in the end. Ronaldo seemed to be lacking that finishing touch in all his shots, however he made up with his attitude of dog chase for keeping his goal account non-empty for the day

  5. Yeah it’s B-Boy (Typo with B-B)
Some people’s opinion just don’t count for nothin

  6. What the f**k is Dog Chase ahahahahaa!!!!!! LOL
Some people just write **** in these comments….fake Man united fan’s.
What kind of a word is non-empty….somebody help this guy, Using words that don’t exist.

  7. WE THE BEST!!!!! (DJ Khalid joke)

as to a new trinity, this topic has been discussed a bunch on a forum im on, its an offshoot of the old official board, which got wrecked when the club switched host companies.

The thing about the old trinity is that all 3 were euro player of the year. these days, there is a lot more competition for that prize (players like messi, krkic, ribery, benzema, iniesta, fabregas, drogba, torres, etc). Plus they have to overcome the whole anti-epl bias that is present in those awards.

I can see Ronaldo winning it this year, and maybe Tevez getting it. Rooney will deserve one, but he is too underrated by many. No one appreaciates the team play that he has. They are more likely to give to to Messi who can score ‘wondergoals’ than Rooney, who can only take the ball out of the air going across his body from 35 yards out and put it in the top corner. Thats not good enough for them.

In terms of goals, the trinity scored liike 650 as i recall. I did a mathematical calculation, and it is quite possible for this current trio to match, or even exceed that amount.

about this game, one of the reasons why we had such a time with this team was cause we had hargo carrick in CM. we already learned that doesnt work. not enough creativity. we only scored after hargo came off

Ronaldo has already tied last seasons figures, which were records already. Hes going to destroy last seasons achievements.

  11. Real Talk Cory…..i was just bored and saw his name….my fault.
I won’t push his buttons no more.

  12. Good views on the (Holy Trinity) talk Cory, Wayne is underrated but for some reason i like that. We as United fans know how good he is and that’s all that really matters.
Saying that, i think injuries have hampered his season so far and that has messed with his form.
He can have a bigger season than ronaldo without all the mishaps.

    ABOUT THE GAME:
The reason we never scored so early was because of a rusty Ji Sung Park (good player) and a half decent Carrick (good player) who is having a terrible season.
His confidence is low because of Anderson & Hargreaves in the middle are trying to impose themself in the team. They are both excellent ballers and i’m happy we got both this season.

If we played Nani from the start then we would have got an earlier goal.
Fergie is not starting him earlier in the season and if u check our history, he did the same with ronaldo in his debut season.

As for Ronaldo….wow….i’m watching history in the making we that guy. He might just be the top goalscorer for the league this season.
    BEST PLAYER IN THE WORLD
    (on current form)…….No Arguments

  13. the back four nearly made me **** myself a few times; i’m not sure why they played so badly at times. fortunately, either they would recover, vds would cover for them, or the reading player would waste the chance. united were also wasteful in front of goal; but as usual pulled out the win. and as cory mentioned hargreaves and carrick don’t work well together because they both prefer the holding cm position; at cm it should be either anderson with hargo/carrick/fletcher or carrick and fletcher. at this point nani must be frustrated because even though park is a very good player, nani should be playing ahead of him.

pratik, england isn’t playing in euro 08 because rooney, terry, and michael owen were hurt and because mcclaren is by far the least tactically skilled England manager in recent years. playing wright-phillips ahead of beckham when crouch is playing as a lone striker is just plain foolish, especially when it would make the most sense to have a winger with great crossing ability to play crosses in for your 2 meter tall striker (BECKHAM). it’s even more dubious because he did so after wenger basically told him to play beckham. then he gives carson his competitive debut in goal in such a big game. i started to wonder if mccalren had lost his mind.

but congrats to united but we haven’t won it yet and we can’t forget about chelsea; they’re lurking around ready to pounce if united and arsenal lose focus.

  14. bboy

most of the lads on the forum, including me, agreed carrick had a good game. Jiji, imo, should be a sub. His pace can shoot life into a dead game. starting, hes not as effective.

    Nani wasnt spectacular though.

About Rooney, hes got 10 goals in half a season, and half or more of that half a season has been injury plagued. Not a doubt if he goes w/o injuries next season he can hit the 30, maybe even 35-40 goal mark. He also averages 17 ish assists a season, and im not sure how he is on that this season. Hes doing a great job.

about being the best, many will argue that point. and never will stop arguing. those people, are idiots.

    —–
ronron- the defense makes errors, yes, but we still rarely concede.

ive been impressed with chelsea since, who was it? Hank Ten Cate (thats totally wrong but its something similar) came in as assistant. Grant is just a figurehead. Theyve really clawed back to the leaders.

  15. ferguson needs to have his gum confiscated

it’s making him do strange gestures now

  16. How about the new striker Manuche, is he going to be played soon. Also do you think Wes Brown has sprung back from couple sub-standard performances so no replacement required for him right now

  17. on the last two breakaways, reading’s defenders were not sprinting. i’m guessing it was fatigue, but you still have to run hard and help your teammates. they made it too easy at the end, though if man u were finishing better it wouldn’t have mattered.

  18. Manucho, pratik, not manuche.

Just thought you should know, it makes a differences when you search for youtube clips after he gets a hatrick for angola tomorrow(???)

kidding. i dont know how good he is, right now there is just a youtube clip where he scores vs egypt, i think.

    —-

we’ve never needed to buy a replacement for RB. If brown goes, i would be overjoyed t osee pique, simpson, and evans to get to play in the squad. WHY ARE OUR HOMEGROWN TALENTS NEVER GOOD ENOUGH FOR MANY OF OUR FANS?????

Simpson and Pique have perfromed admirably, as good as any of the players people have suggested buying. Simmo played vs Newcastle, nearly scored twice. Also played vs Roma away i think. Pique played in a few other games, including Roma away. He scored our only goal of the match. AND, he was a centerpiece of the defense that held international stars like Totti to just 1 goal!! Both of them are young, academy products, and good enough to be on United’s first team. Instead of pay 10-20 million on ANOTHER (we would have 7, Neville, Brown, Hargreaves, Oshea, Pique, Simpson, and Evans) right back, lets spend it on something BETTER!

With the money used to KILL the chances of 2-3 more exciting youth players with talent to make it here, we could actually help the team by:
    1. paying off some of that debt.
    2. buying another some more promising youngsters.
    3. Buying another striker.
    4. Saving money towards another stadium expansion. (rumored)
    5. Improving our scouting.
    6. Upgrading our academy system.

SEE!! Look at all the better things we could do instead of buying another defender to sit on the bench, or cause our great talents to sit on the bench.

-not directed at anyone in particular, its just everyone talks about getting a new RB, but we really dont need one.

  19. with all this talk of new rb we still have one of does anyone know when neville will be returning? why has his recovery taken so long?

  20. :d I love C.Ronaldo :d/

  21. ;)

There you go Manucho has scored for Angola against South Africa sounding good

  22. did you guys see the goal? its in the ACoN section, here. Angola, in case you didnt know. Hes also got a goal vs egypt in a youtube vid for a friendly. Hes scored like 4 in 4 for angola. Im starting to get really excited for this one. the new striker we’ve been looking for. United’s answer to drogba.

  23. Don’t get to excited…..he has to play in the fast and tough premiership first. Good header for his goal for Angola but i’ve learnt to wait and see if he has the goods for Man United first.
Remember Folan, he was s**t for us (bar that Liverpool game) but he is scoring in the Spainish League for fun now.
Even that young guy Wallback (something like that) is scoring tons of goals in the reserves but missed a pen in the saudi game on Monday.
These players have to show and prove….think Rooney’s debut hat-trick, Beckham’s halfway-line goal, Van Nistelrooy’s 34 goal first season.
No more over hyping ballers until they deliver like Christiano has been doing.
Saying that…..so far so good for Manucho (get that work permit too)

  24. Welbeck, his name is welbeck.

im excited, bboy, but dont worry, cause ive got my head on straight. Its okay to get excited, not good to pile on pressure. I just expect him to do his best. It may take a bit for him to adjust, like vidic and evra.

  25. strikers don’t have too much time to adjust like defenders do.
You can’t compare folan to evra or daniel agger to peter crouch or gallas to van persie. strikers have to score in there first four games or pressure rises.
With defenders if they have a s**t game and the team wins then nobody will say nothing.
If the striker has a s**t game then it will be talked about until they get it right.
Let them s**t strikers adjust somewhere else….at Man U we expect strikers to deliver…..point blank.

  26. i disagree. we shouldnt expect strikers to start scoring right off the mark. give them time, really. With the players we have, we can allow for some adjustment time.
