FA Cup 3rd Round - New England coach Fabio Capello saw Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney grab late goals for Manchester United to settle an uninspiring FA Cup third round clash at Villa Park.

    IF IT WAS'NT FOR WAYNE ROONEY WE WOULD HAVE A REPLAY AT OLD TRAFFORD...SAHA WAS TERRIBLE...I THINK IT'S TIME HE WAS SOLD. CARRICK IS TO SLOW IN MOVEMENT...I'M STARTIN TO HATE THE WAY HE PLAYS. IT WAS A BORING GAME BUT WITH THE SKILL OF ROONEY, ANDERSON, GIGGS, RONALDO AND THE BACK FIVE (INCLUDING VAN DER SAR) WE CAME THROUGH.

    It was a dull game, neighter team had serious chances to open the score until the introduction of Wayne Rooney, with 20 minutes left...

    I'm not saying that without Rooney, we're nothing.. But surely he makes a big difference.. His passing, his enthusiasm, his pace, his energy - he gives his everything in the match.

    Also great credit goes to the back four, and also VDS.

    Anyways, Rooney is back, hopefully Tevez will be back soon too so the Old United play should be back.

    Yeah, a win is all we needed and that's what we've got but without Rooney we wouldn't have been able to do it.
    I just kept bragging to Fergie to bring Rooney on. My dad kept telling me '' Oh yeah, and what's gonna be the difference with Rooney on, huh? '' [ He's a ****** Tottenham fan.. ]]
    I told him to just wait and see.
    That's what he did and I was right.. like always =P

    i don't think saha is that bad, at least he can still hold the ball until someone arrive, but carrick sucks! big time if u would ask me. He stop the flow of attacking and made so many mistakes, he like to pass the ball back to defenders, which annoys me. I prefer if owen was playing in that position [-(

    I agree with Spawn... I hate critisizing Saha.. He is one of my favourite players and if Fergie sells him then we gotta say some words ! :-w
    We need Saha because we don't have enough strikers.. Yeah, we have Manucho coming in after the African Cup but what if he doesn't settle quickly??

    Anywayzzz... With Manucho or not Saha should stay!! I don't bare seeing the moment he leaves.. now wayy man..

    Oh Carrick, Carrickk... Where's the enthusiasm and energy I saw in him last season?! I don't know whats happening with him man.. Maybe he needs games to improve himself.. I don't know.. In this case too, we shouldn't sell Carrick. Let's not lose courage on this man who gave awesome contribution last season !

    Oh yeah.. as you may say, I really do talk from my heart not from my brain.. You can slamp me for this. But I love United players more than I love anything... & I don't lose courage in them easilyy.

    Well definitely ROXII and B-Boy should take their love discussion somewhere else as they sound irritating and irrelevant. Here is my 2 cents:

    1. Rooney's goal was example of composure and skill as it was not an easy one, but then earlier he missed one sublime pass from Ronaldo
    2. Ronaldo made some awesome assists before scoring the first goal - the first one was the rebound from Carson spilled by Giggs and then another one which Rooney missed, the 3rd resulting in the second goal.

    Besides spirited display from Giggs, Anderson and the back 4. So United we stand , certainly not a one-man team at the moment !!

    Rooney best english player atm no doubt about that :) Man UTD is a very good team and the thing that makes them so is the number of youngsters that are looking to improve even further.

    Saha 's only problem is his injuries, otherwise he's a good striker to have even if he's not as much as a prodigy as rooney and tevez. Carrick is a brilliant midfielder and just because he's not at his best we fans shouldn't give up on him so easily ...

    P.S Carrick impressed a lot of ppl with his passing in world cup 2006, as well as with his composure and skill last season :P

    Well, maybe you should learn how to add some more humuor to your character... Because urm, you sound rather strange and a dull person. Maybe a new year's resolution won't make you any harm hun..

    And bdw, we all know that Rooney missed some chances. But we also know that from the little time had had in his dispose to score, he did his job very well. Created the first goal: Rooney, Anderson, Giggs then Ronnie.
    & Scoring the 2nd one.

    Playing the full 90 mins, no one was capable to score, but we all know what Rooney is capable of as we all know that without him we are weak !

    I've already lost Smith last season, I liked him so much.. I cannot bare to see Saha leaving now !

    I know that there's no love in football's business but I'm not Glazer or Fergie. I'm just a supporter that loves those players so much.

    same here, i think smith is a very good striker as long as he has a good midfield behind him. if united were to buy berbatov, the club would most liekly have to sell carrick, saha, and brown (who's played fantastically in place of neville) to cover the 30 mil price tag. on an unrelated note, i have the combined good looks of c. ronaldo and beckham with an added ruggedness, and the ability to make women faint with a single glance. i just thought i should put that out there.

    Back to business...
    I think that Brown is on the edge of leaving United.. He doesn't want to sign the new contract, and he's playing ******' awesome these days.. ha yeah, so he can impress some managers.
    We can't afford losing him.. He's a great defender and is filling Neville's abstence very very good.
    But, saying that, we cannot let his contract expires, which it does next Summer... I mean, its not ****** worth it for us to let him leave on a free transfer.. At the moment he is worth 8-12 million, so why should we be carless with his contract?

    If Brown leaves, there is no need to worry. Fergie knows whats he is doing and believe me, there's Pique.. He already showed what he is capable of - 2 matches in the Champions League = 2 goals.

    Fergie offered him a new contract.. its up to him now - Take it or leave it.
