Regardless of how the game ended, I still say that Arsenal is Awesome! It’s a fact that winning this game won’t add a lot to Arsenal except that it would keep them on the top of this group…a bunch of key Arsenal players did not play as well…finally, and if i am not mistaking, loosing this game might be a big benefit to Arsenal because their position in the group decides who they will play in the next round!!
moe that was an interesting speculation. i never thought of it that way. anyway i think arsenal didn’t play as well as they could have. i was somewhat embarrased even though i was watching the game all alone. this is only one game and plus they were trying a different technique.

They won’t win the EPL, and they won’t win the Champions league. To lose against Sevilla, who’s having a nightmare domestically, is evidence that arsenal isn’t up to the challenge of European football.

its probably better we get our first defeat out of the way in a rather meaninigless fix. It would suck to have the streak lurking late in the year, in a crucial game, and losing then. and it was mostly a B squad anyway
now lets win these next 2 in the league, and get up 6 on the manc wancs
Awful game by Arsenal and a great game by Sevillia. Brilliant header by Fabiano. I found myself yelling “Pass! Pass!!” through the whole game.
Traore and Hoyte were outclassed on the wings. Senderos pretty much bungled everything (cept that almost handball) and Dennilson and Bert had awful games. Plus Eduardo looked rather befuddled in the midfield. Bendtner had a few good first touches but couldn’t finish.
All in all I think we played like the England national team much of the game and IMHO subbing in Wallcot and Sagna came much too late considering what was occurring on the pitch.
At least we’re already through. It’s a setback but all in all not that bad. We started much of our second and third team and despite the domestic season Sevillia is having they are still very talented and could definately take all three points from the best on any given night.
Furthermore perhaps Bert and Bendtner can stop grumbling about their position with the club. Bendtner had several nice first touches but couldn’t finish on any of them and Bert played quite poorly.

Arsenal needs a new goalkeeper. Jens is old and this guy sucks. Brad Guzan of Chivas USA would have saved that first goal, for sure.
