The inside Scoop
November 12th, 2007 . posted by admin
We are working long and hard on putting together the new Footytube (version 2.0). We are in the process of implementing new features to the current site in order to make your experience richer in football media (from interviews and breaking news, all the way to select highlights)
Please bear with us while we test our new delivery platform. Some of you have emailed us requesting we go back to the “old format”, while it’s true we’ve had to slightly change course, and in some cases cease to post direct links, we still have a myriad of videos for you to enjoy and keep up with your favorite teams. Unfortunately, we had to shut down the submission system for some time until we settle some legal issues surrounding the posting of EPL, LFP and Champions League highlights.
Once again, bear with us on this one. If you wish to add constructive feedback or request some features you would like to see on the upcoming version, now is the time to speak up.
Here is a sneak peak at Footytube 2.0:

the new format looks great, but the quality of the videos is not so good. it was not always like this with just youtube videos, but i would like to see videos of higher quality. Thanks!

if only youtube links are posted then there is really no point coming to footytube anymore

yup, the new format looks great but the videos are not always “footytube”. Just see Tottenham vs Wigan compilation (Nov 11th),

I don’t see any prospects about footytube. What if ESPN or Sky Sports starts offering free highlights of high quality? They have the copyrights not footytube.

Some people are just very very ungrateful, try searching the youtube website urself and look for the videos, you’ll see what i mean. FootyTube provides you with a DIRECT link to the video for FREE..jezz.
One reason why ESPN can’t post the highlights online is because the TV companies have paid millions…MILLIONS..to buy the rights. So .. yea it’s gonna be sometime till they start posting them online
” .. lol

Honestly, I prefer the old version of footytube as it is convenient and easy. 1 link 1 highlights. Now i have to ind all the videos myself and the videos are just… Hope u get what i mean…

I agree with redfox, as long as there is one highlight with all the goals and good quality then V 2.0 will be a hit!….emphasis on the video quality especially!

New site will be awesome! I love the Web 2.0 style you guys are incorporating.. BEST OF LUCK! & we (the crazy football/soccer fans) are on ur side!!!
However, I must agree with RedFox & xrayvision and a few others who supported the idea of 1 video per game instead of more than 10 videos to choose from.. it’s just more convenient, hope you know what I mean.. but , honestly, i dont care that much as long as the videos keep coming…

First of all, im greatful for this site/blog/tube! Its great and its free, just a suggestion from me to the new 2.0 version. Remember its just what I think and its just a suggestion try to keep is as said above, proffesional. Clean, Fast, Quality. The new site skin/format looks great, just dont make it look like a “compilation” site. Otherwise than that, thank you im happy you just spend your time being polite, maybe getting some well earnt money from some ads!

i think it looks cool. I’m really looking forward to the new platform. i was just wondering if we could have some Australian A-league highlights on ther? That would be sweet.

Would it be possible not to show the score on the game heading along with the name of the two teams. It’s nice to watch the highlights without knowing the score.

you guys should start putting complete games up. i don’t have any channels that show football games, so i have to rely on highlights, but it would be nice to watch a full game once in a while.

Will you still show the latest highlights from the premier league and champions league or will this stop next season? What is the plan? Must say you are doing a nice job. Thanks guys
