Arsenal 2-2 Manchester United
November 3rd, 2007 . posted by admin

Manchester United had to settle for a point after conceding a dramatic last-minute equalizer at the Emirates Stadium.
The Reds took the lead in first-half injury time when Wayne Rooney’s close-range effort was deflected in for a William Gallas own-goal, but Francesc Fabregas equalized just minutes after the restart.
United looked to have won the game when Cristiano Ronaldo scored with just eight minutes remaining, but Gallas scored in injury time despite Nemanja Vidic’s desperate effort to scramble the ball off the line.

it was similar with last season, arsenal got lucky in the last minutes..but the end of the season will also be similar with last season when Ma united crowned champion…so dont worry Man Utd fans, last season we already proved them how to be consistent through out the season, and that’s the curcial key, but Arsenal doesnt have that key..
Nicholas | November 3rd, 2007 @ 1:18 pm
Hey Red Lion and Man U. fans,
Gunners got lucky? I wouldn’t call Gallas’ own goal skill on Man U’s behalf let alone Rooneys. How about Van der Sar’s foot save? Someone please tell me that’s part of his practice routine. blah blah blah…
I say it was a good game on both sides with chances missed and chances made.

gooner4life,THE SESON ISNT FOcken OVER,AND ARSENAL ARENT LEADING By 5 or 6 points they are equal in points, the diffrence is the number of matched played, man united are a head with one game,so we can say that the diffrence is 3 points since arsenal have another unplayed match, its too early to say that GOONERS ARE STILL FIRST,remmber how close it got with chelsea last year????,and it was the end of the seson.

That was a great match, in which Man U largely dominated Arsenal, we were fuckin’ lucky, that’s right, but Arsenal wasn’t playing their better football, we’ve seen Arsenal play better than it … So don’t worry, and don’t put the match at Old Trafford in your pocket, Arsenal will maybe play the great football they’ve played against Sevilla or Slavia Prague. Maybe, but maybe not ^^
We’ll see

Just to let u ManU fans know…you guys pretty much had a full team of Starting players..unlike Arsenal..who miss out one of the key player..Van Perse..if he is not injury….including Senderous..I think we Arsenal would’ve bagged the game for sure..Blamming the luck on Gallas last min goal was a poor excuse, it was ManU defense not tight enough i reckon
anyway good game it is….bad that we only bagged 1 point each

HAHAHA how much did UNITED spend on 3 players this SEASON!! what 30-60 million Pounds? ABOUT THE SAME AS EMIRATES STADIUM! AND United HAD TO CHEAT to get A draw. TYPICAL! ANDERSON waving imaginery card , SO DIRTY! i would at least yellow card him for that, such a despicable act. HAHA RONALDO WHAT A PLAYER FIRST ASSIST OF THE SEASON= ****! Portsmouth players have more than that, and Man city beat u losers. Needed lucky rooney bull**** goal WHICH SHOULdNT HAVE COUNTED COZ U CHEAT AS USUAL BEFORE GOAL. UNITED defensive only 2 striker and all 11 players in their half at times (******* gay) but worse arsenal also only 1 striker.. not arsenal way. compare prices of teams and u c how **** and overated united is…..v:o

ronaldo is a good player , but carrick = **** and 17 million? give me a break, henry we got for 10 million and sold for 17 million. United need to cheat , been that way for years, ask ANYONE WHO isnt A UNITED FAN and knows EPL. Always intimitade refs and do dirty fouls, United scared to play attcking football at emirates. Remember we have the longest unbeaten streak in EPL history and u had TO CHEAT AGAIN to beat it. Rooney is overated btw, Tevez much better player.. altho i think giggs, nani and ronaldo are good jut too defensive at united, btw your treble in 99-00 was lucky andboring defensive football. Cant say that about arsenal “invincibles” ask ANY NEUTRAL AND WHAT DO THEY SAY???

Although manchester united took the lead 2 tmes in the game but it doesnt mean they played better ,because you can win or draw when you dont deserve it. MAN UTD didnt have any real chances on the goal except roonie’s. The first half arsenal had possession and played quality football and undeserved lucky goal(gallas deflected) went in. i rarely saw manchester in the 1st half. Its not only about scoring goals its abt performace(goals dont usualy signify performance). Amazing match by the way

even then, it is pointless to stereotype fans. there are idiots on both sides of every arguement. please dont be one of them, thanks

I see many retards here. First of all, Arsenal have supplied the most players for the England u-18 (or u-21, I forgot) team, so to those who say Arsenal are not an ‘english’ team, know the facts before you embarrass yourself. Maybe the current england squad are so full of overrrated players and players with a price tag that only people like roman abramovich can buy?
And second, Arsenal got lucky? They battled when they were 1-2 down with 8 mins to go and they deservedly got the goal. Great call by the linesman so credit to him. You want to know what’s lucky? MU scoring through an own goal, Arsenal not getting a penalty after vidic tugged at Hleb, and Evra hacking the ball onto his own crossbar. And we didn’t complain you got lucky because Almunia needlessly rushed out for the ball and conceded the second goal.
Arsenal dominated the game, but MU were more clinical in front of goal. It was Arsenal of last season again, failing in the last third of the pitch. And we basically played with zero strikers in the first half, Adebayor kept treading back to the midfield or drifting wide. However we do have something none of the other teams have – spirit to fight back. We are the comeback kings.

This quote from espn says it all:
‘”We only had eight minutes to get back into the game after Ronaldo’s goal and still found a way to do it. This game doesn’t prove anything other than confirming we have a good team and we should have a chance to challenge for the title this season.’
As for Ferguson, he looked full of rage as he answered the questions. ‘To give away a goal from our own throw in so soon after the break was ridiculous,’ he moaned. ‘We spoke about having some good possession after getting the goal on the stroke of half-time, but we gave away a very scrappy goal.”
Mathers | November 4th, 2007 @ 12:04 am
Arsenal were happy to draw level at home whereas United were disappointed to not win away. That says something about how the sides look at themselves and where they stand in relation to one another in reference to the title race. Arsenal are happy to try and live out their time at the top and Man United want their deserved spot back and know they have the strength to take to back. Watch what happens Gunners at Old Trafford.
saradiart | November 4th, 2007 @ 12:07 am
man united suck. ferguson say that they create good chances, but he dont have any eyes: look at the stats dummy! arsenal shot 17(6) on target. Manu shot 10(4). Ferguson is rubbish, as well as his dumb team. We will beat u guys in old trafford!!

Most posts here are missing the point. it really doesnt matter what result today was, we are not even at christmas yet. And as far as the Old Trafford game yet again thats only another 3 points up for grabs in the EPL. Of course its more Pride, but of course points also add up. There are many more exciting games on schedule in which each time could lose. Thats what makes the English league the most interesting. For all you know Arsenal could lose their next game so this game didnt even count as a draw. Its not like this was an FA cup game. I guess you have to be English like myself to understand the premiership properly. Most of the comments on here just made me laugh. :)

Wat if Man Utd NEVER won a single title but played like how they did yesterdae..would anyone support them? Doubt these glory hunting bit*hes would…

yeap Im surprised at how Arsenal is celebrating because they DREW at HOME while Man Utd was the one trying to win the game, and Sir Alex was fuming because they didnt whereas Arsene Wenger & his team was just satisfied to be on top of the table for the moment.
And Ryder, dont make a fool of yourself. If you’re not a ‘glory hunter’ why not go support some team like Derby County. Surely their effort and team spirit on battling to stay up in EPL will ‘entice’ you more?

United were great although not at their best. Despite injuries to neville, scholes and a weak centre with the inexperienced Anderson and unfit Hargreaves, Man U managed to make their chances count even thou Arsenal dominated. And Stop putting money to buy good players as an excuse, COS UNITED GETS THE MONEY FROM WINNING TITLES.

Good game. The game at old trafford should be interesting. Scholes and Van Persie should be back for man u and arsenal respectively. I doubt it will be the same game because the christmas period tends to produce injuries that may carry on to the game. Players might also come in for both teams in the transfer window. The game is in April and I just hope it will be as interesting as yesterday.
Ps: chances are they won’t be playing for the same titles by the time they face each other. Its a long season with too many challenges on the way.Just a thought.

Most people say United were lucky to win the treble, I was there to see it unfold but in any footie match some luck is needed. The man u **** game reminded me of man u bayern final in 1999 an extra time goal.

I think United should of won the game but hey they didnt and now to the Dynamo game 2morrow. I think United can win the Champions league this time as long as they dont get any serious injuries. Ill continue to let you all talk about the Man U – **** game and im already thinking about winning the Champions league. I really think we can reproduce 1999, but i dont think the treble looms large again, maybe the double. I know how life is in lancashire,

Arsenal is the team to beat all time. Manchester is lucky because, all other teams in the league dont prepare hard for united as they do for gunners. Gunners4life
