Calm down with the hostile comments guys, it’s just a compilation. If you don’t agree with these so called “dives” than say so in a clean manner and rate the video down.
Part of the reason why I put up this controversial video is to see how you guys would interact with each other. So far we’ve had some nice contributions mainly from G.D , Matt, Cory, Gavin. Zadig has a pretty funny sarcastic comment … Please keep up with the constructive comments, and keep it down with the swear words!

30- there was contact, not much, but at ronaldo’s speed, i would go down.
29-ALMOST as bad as a drogba dive
28- he tripped himself because he was off balance because of the first hit, he wasnt diving. there is a difference.
27-caught his foot fom behind, exaggerated, but still a foul
26- a dive, no excuse
25- too far to see, could have been a dive, maybe not.
24- hip check, couldve knocked him offa little bit, so a little exaggerated
23- how is that a dive?
22- looked like he got hit iin the face by an elbow, but that could be a dive
21- looked like a dive, but there was no close up to be decisive
20- hit from behind in midstep, that can easily knock someone over. looked like he got hit in the back of the knee or foot maybe.
19- he was right to get out of the way, cause it was a cheap shot, but the falling over was a dive.

17- he didnt go down, he was getting out of the way of the challenge, if he went down it would be a dive, he tripped.

this video is a load of s**t. half of those so called “dives” werent even dives, they were just him losing his footing for example number 8. its also funny how you only show close ups on the tackles where ronaldo actually does dive, which from memory i saw about 4-5. in most of the so called dives its just that ronaldos pace makes him lose his footing and he goes to the ground , in the milan game they were not dives but just that he was out muscled by gattuso , out of 30 i wud say there were only 4-5 real dives but get a life guys hes not even dived a single time this season ……its now become the story of the wolf tat even when hes fouled he gets a yellow for divin….ronaldo makes football so exciting !!!!

This is absolutely propostrious! This video clearly shows that your football knowledge is very little! I can see many clear cases of fouls and penalties in this video! Clear penalties on the first case, the match against Lille, in which Cristiano received the yellow card for diving, instead of given a definite and clear penalty! Also in the cases against Blackbur, Liverpool, Arsenal and many more, Cristiano is clearly fouled and i cant believe u even mention such cases! Goodbye my friend and next time post something better instead of proving us that Cristiano can only be stopped by fouling him!!!

Most ronaldo fans will admit that he does dive, but regardless by the end of his long career he will be one of the greatest to ever play the game. Thank God, at least a few people have enough common sense and knowledge of the game (Matt, Peta, etc.) But to those who enjoy bagging on Cristiano, if only you ignorant, narrow minded haters would only take the time to really analyze this, from a critical thinking point of view (which clearly none of you haters are capable of because had you have been able, half of the things you’ve said wouldn’t have been written) you would know that the majority of those so called “dives” were definitely not dives @ all. Matt has a point in that people who actually play the game (I myself being one of them) and it doesn’t matter what level of futbol it is, any futbol player would know that the majority of those were definitely not dives, but either attempts to avoid getting hit (cuz if one were to get hit, especially in the ankles which is the most vulnerable when playing the game, it may lead to a serious injury, which thereby could possibly also end their season, which in the end, could inevitably end one’s career … and any sane person with common sense would make every effort to avoid any of that from happening) … or the result of what would happen if something that were going at such a high speed or momentum, being affected or altered by contact (whether great or small). It’s called Physics, you airheads … if something is travelling, especially @ such a high speed (which in this case, is Ronaldo … who possesses incredible, hard-to-compare and undeniable speed and swiftness) if something were to collide or to even come into contact with that object (in this case, person) that object is not just gonna stop right there, you idiots, it’s still gonna continue to travel because of the momentum. But because of the collision or contact, the person or object’s direction would/may possibly change in direction, depending on the angles and what not. It’s part of the physics laws called Newton’s laws, you ignorant idiots. Instead of making ridiculous, unknowledgeable, biased criticisms, why don’t you go do some reading & research before you post some nonsense. And the last thing I want to do is give a physics lesson here, cuz I personally hated that stuff in high school, but the point is … We all know that Cristiano has incredible speed, and many times is impossible to stop (and if you don’t know that or won’t admit it, you’re in denial) … if he’s running & has good pace on the pitch and a defender comes @ him, and because that defender isn’t able to keep up with him (which whether u admit it or not, many/most of them cannot) their defensive action is either too late or too slow … and so instead of getting the ball, the defender comes into contact with Cristiano’s leg/ankle. And any player would know that if you get hit, especially in the ankles and going @ such a fast speed, you’re not just gonna stop and stand around … you’re either gonna fly or tumble over … and with Cristiano’s speed, sometimes he’s able to avoid it and jump away from it, but because of his fast speed & velocity, it’s hard to control yourself, especially in mid-air. What do you expect him to do, land perfectly after flying through the air, land standing and pretend like he never got hit? And that the clip to his ankle never hurt? You idiots, that ish hurts … especially around the ankles. If you actually played the game of futbol, you’d know that, doesn’t matter what level of play. Being clipped on the foot and/or ankle @ that speed … It KILLS and hurts like crazy … and if you actually watch the video from a neutral perspective … 80% of those “dives,” Cristiano either got hit or clipped on the ankles (especially the one against Lille) … the rest is the result of travelling @ such a high speed and getting affected or altered by either physical contact or just plain old having a slip-up and losing balance on the pitch (the clip with Portugal vs. France or England … if you ignorant airheads would look closely, you’d know & see that Cristiano was going for the header … but it’s kinda hard if the defender pushes you down. Where else is he gonna go, even if you’re body’s being pushed or forced downwards? … What, do you expect Cristiano to not follow the laws of physics and just stand there strong and act like nothing happened, even while he gets hit while moving? … Obviously, Cristiano’s gonna drop to the floor/grass. To be fair, Cristiano can improve on his strength and toughness. Yes, he’s a phenomenal player, top class and one of the world’s best in the game of futbol, whether you’d like to admit it or not. His presence on the pitch is overwhelming and can drastically change the outcome of the game instantly. But he can be easily thrown around and needs to work on his core strength ‘cuz some of those defenders easily push him around, but that’s expected. Defenders are supposed to be strong and tough ‘cuz if not, what use would they be? Defenders are expected to be powerhouses, not forwards or offensive players … that’s up to each and individual player and their desire and willingness to add that aspect to their game … Rooney, is a prime example of a forward that has that strong, power aspect to his game … So yes, in that respect, Cristiano needs some work … but can you blame the the guy for being light on his feet and lightning-quick? Or bag on him because of his hard-to-compare, unstoppable ball control that he possesses? It’s not the guy’s fault that he knows how to avoid defenders, get past them, has the ability & awareness in not allowing the opposing defenders get the possession with moves and trickery that Cristiano possesses on an overflow, etc. No, you can’t … none of us can. You can’t take a God-given talent that he possesses, and blame him for it and begin to make unsubstantial claims/criticisms against the guy. You gotta know your stuff 1st before you begin to babble nonsense, you ignorant haters. And if you guys were smart enough … you’d know that Cristiano full well earned all those awards from last season, especially the PFA award … or else the rest of the other players in the Premier League wouldn’t have voted for him (cuz for those that don’t know, all the players from the Premier League vote and play a huge role in the winner of the PFA award) don’t you think that the players of the Premier League would know better, on the quality of Cristiano Ronaldo’s play, especially than any of us that are not in the league? If he really didn’t deserve it, the majority of the players wouldn’t have voted for him, and Cristiano wouldn’t have won … but everybody in the league (or at least the majority of them) felt that he was the best and that is why Cristiano got and earned all of those awards last season. Even his own fellow players, opponents, colleagues, etc. are saying that he’s top class and one of the world’s best, especially after last season’s performance (EPL’s best, to say the least). So no one, not me, not anybody can bring the argument of Cristiano not earning it or deserving the PFA award and all the others he earned (3 others, if I remember correctly) ‘cuz his own fellow colleagues in the Premier league voting him as the best should be enough to shut us all up … cuz I think that they (the rest of the other players in the EPL) should know best (especially know better than each and everyone one of us that doesn’t play in the EPL, or futbol … period, for that matter.) on whether or not Cristiano Ronaldo earned that Player of the Year Award.
So all in all, love him or hate him … Cristiano Ronaldo is top class and whether we’d like to admit it or not, is one of the world’s best and most exciting futbol players to watch and to have ever graced the pitch. The type of player that can drastically change and alter the outcome of a game in an instant. And to the person that put that video up, and to the rest that are either hating or just riding & getting off the Cristiano Ronaldo bandwagon, know your ish 1st before you start talking and babbling foolishness and nonesense that’s weak, irrelevant, unsubstantial, and has little or no-bearing or facts backing them. And obviously it’s not hard to see the nature of this video, which is very biased … the email name of the dude that posted the video should say it all already.

As you can see, at least in 2/3 of these clips, Ronaldo does some very horrible dives. He does not need to do them, but he does them because he is a cheat and he tries to win matches by cheating. That makes him a c*nt and justifies the creation of this video.
Rooney, Gerrard, Drogba whoever… they got nothing to do with this video.. this video is about Ronaldo. obviously, ronaldo dives, that’s a fact, but the important thing is about him NOW.
I don’t anyone could touch ronaldo harshly this season for diving. He dived maybe once, twice, or trice during this season, but clearly you could see his game improving and becoming “cleaner” from a spectator’s view.
Also Ronaldo isn’t a total ball hogging jerk like we saw in the beginning of his United career, he plays with more coherency than he used to.

Most of the people that think ronaldo is the best player in the world must have been hit on the head at an early age, Sure he can do tricks WOW,and he has had one good season thus far WOW. Plus about 90 percent of these are dives so shut up all the mancs who are like only the last 3 are dives it just shows your poor knowlege of the game.

some of them actually aren’t dives, like 23, that was pretty bad tackle
26 was the funniest! he even slightly jumped to sell the call
ronaldo’s a world class player, but still hasn’t reached the level of a player like zidane to deserve the title of the greatest player in the world. and you have to admit that he does dive a lot but then again almost all great players do… peace!

the 1st one is quite debatable. definately contact.
some of the ones where he loses his balance can be considered dives cuz he always looks at the ref as if he had bin fouled.
but other than that..hes a good player.

i admit ronaldo has skills but he obviously hates when they don’t work out, so instead he dives – then instead of it being a **** piece of football it is a foul. then their is talk of him being one of the best in the world or even THE best, anyone who saw the united – AC milan game last season will know that a real quality payer – gattuso – played him off the field. i would love to punch the **** in the face and tell him to cop on

Embellishing contact is part of every decent attacking players game. I would say on maximum 25% of these there is no contact, and many of those he doesn’t call for a foul.
Watching this is really impressive actually, there are many times where there cleary would be a harsh foul but cristiano somehow avoids the contact or makes it much less severe. He’s not a cheater, but he does try to earn a free kick when his progress is unfairly impeded even when he is quick and agile enough to avoid contact.

i do think some of those are dives however i agree with most people, some of them he’s just running too fast and loses his balance and some of them he’s just jumping out of the way to avoid injury. I will say, sometimes referees call too many fouls on him and he starts to realize he can get away with things, they should better realize the difference between dives, falling down, and trying to prevent themselves from getting hurt.

Im an Arsenal and Portugal fan so i can be alot more impartial than most Man United fans that have left comments. (funny , how they want to boycott the site)
1. C.Ronaldo is a good player (only 1 assist and 4 goals i think this season, but still the best player of last season)
2. C.Ronaldo is a diver (full Stop). No excuses.
He reminds me of a portuguese Henry that can header the ball, they both have phenomenal ball skills and can dribble, but both dive too. Like Henry , Ronaldo isn’t really a big game player. Play him against the big teams (AC Milan, Arsenal, Chelsea) and he doesnt really make a huge impact. Hes a bit of a one trick pony, you can’t really compare him to Messi and Ronaldinho..
Watch any of Ronaldinho’s goals, or Messi’s goal against Levante? i think and well, yeah. Definitely up there with Figo and Eusebio as the greatest players Portugal have ever produced though.

God, the amount of biased Man U fans on here, he is a diver and there’s no excuse, he appeals for the foul so obviously he isn’t just diving out of the way, i used to like watching Ronaldo but he dives so much, it’s calmed down a bit this season but i would ban him from the game if i had the power to, i hate divers, i would ban Eboue of Arsenal probably too (i’m and Arsenal fan) so just shows… I HATE DIVERS. Oh and when the linesman gave that one where he was right in front of him was appauling, simply terrible decision.

Ronaldo has loads of talent: shooting, passing, pace, vision, heading, dribbling, and yes, even diving. There are good shots and bad shots, good tackling and bad tackling, good passing and bad passing, good diving and bad diving. Winning the call is a skill like every other aspect of the game. Should diving be punished? absolutely. Should *skilled* diving that eludes detection be rewarded? absolutely. By the way, only a handful of the clips in the video appeared to be dives.
