Arsenal vs Manchester United – Preview
November 2nd, 2007 . posted by admin
The young gunner’s title contention will be put to the test this weekend when they host Manchester United at the Emirates. Fans and bookmakers alike cannot wait to see this highly anticipated encounter. Here is a compilation that will spur up that anxiety, while satisfying your taste buds, for the time being at least.
I will go ahead and make a prediction on this one, knowing fair well the risks involved if I am wrong (mainly deep humiliation followed by constant mental abuse by Man United footytubers ) This fixture will result in a highly competitive goal fest, with a 3-2 final score in favor of the gunners. If you are confident you can make the right prediction, let’s hear it in the comments.

fak yew 3-2! man utd ruleszzzzz!!!
haha just kidding… I don’t even like ManU. In fact, I’m from the AMU group i.e. Anti Man-U. Good job on the early preview I can see you’re more excited than most of us. good job standing your ground and making a bold prediction, however, 3-2 is what you WOULD LIKE to see, not what’s going to happen. I’d expect 2 or 3 goals from this game. Maybe 1-1 draw?

hehe…as manutd fan i dun think that it will be a five goal thhriller, like the admin posted above…i surely predict that it will be utd to win 1 or 2 goal to zero….i dun think that arsenal can score aganst te great manutd defense…

Coming from a Chelsea fan I can’t see Arsenal getting past Man Utd. Both teams are playing great attacking football this season but Arsenal just don’t look secure at the back. Man Utd are the complete package.
2 – 1 to Man Utd.

Surely no one would argue the gunners have been able to play the game beautifully. But to argue that they can, even at home, stand up to the powerful midfield and defense of UNITED seems absurd. UNITED have the flair to produce the goals necessary to win (who would argue against 16 goals in 4 straight matches?) and the strength to hold down a pretty yet weak Arsenal team.
J-daddy | November 2nd, 2007 @ 4:35 am
2-1 arsenal, they are top right now and have home field advtantage, and also man u sucks and c. ronaldo is a ***** so yeah
David | November 2nd, 2007 @ 4:45 am
the game looks like a tie at 1-1 for me. both side will play defensive because they have not witness the other’s full power due to new signings, and especially with united’s new faces.
arsenal_ftw | November 2nd, 2007 @ 4:48 am
pfft to Mathers
have you seen the goal difference on the table???
u cant say that united have better chances of scoring than arsenal, equal goal differnece, arsenal with a game in hand and on equal points
come back when utd are outright on top of the table
i see arsenal going up by 1, cesc will score, then utd may score one, probably rooney, and thatll kick arsenal into another gear itll end up 3-1 the other goals to hleb and walcott

Id like to congratulate the gunners for warming up the “top of the table” seat for united. They have been interesting playing against the rest, but now they have to face the best.I think that its rather obvious that rooney, tevez and nani will score.RONALDO might also unleash a stunner,as he always does.final score,4 nil.GLORY,GLORY MAN UTD!!!!

We’ll see. Early injuries led to ManU’s slow start. And Arsenal hasn’t faced a team that is showing the form that the Devils are. I really think it’ll be the team that makes the worst mistake. This game will be won on either a free kick or penalty.
Karim | November 2nd, 2007 @ 12:20 pm
2-1 in favor of the gunners , I am positive of the result as USAUL( last season)!!! its very hard to beat arsenal at emirates stadium , the best MAN UTD can do is draw which i dont think will happen as well.

Mathers | November 2nd, 2007 @ 1:17 pm
C’mon doug. Surely you have not been watching this Arsenal side thus far this campaign. Going to say they are going to try and challenge United by playing a PHYSICAL match? That’s just not their team. As far as arsenal_ftw is concerned, arsenal struggled to pull a single goal from a match against Liverpool in which Liverpool spent the whole first half looking overwhelmed. United will win by making the game physical in the midfield and their defensive third.

Here’s yet another Gooner’s prediction…
Manchester United 1 nil over the Gunners.
Not having RVP fit is going to have an impact. I don’t think Eduardo and Adebayor upfront is going to be enough. Assuming they don’t put Adebayor up there by himself. Plus the magic of Cesc is due to wear out… for a game or two.
Clearly not what I’m hoping for… but I’ve got a bad feeling about this one.
Oh..Really? | November 2nd, 2007 @ 5:35 pm
Arsenal for a win!!!:):d:):d
I think it will either be:
-One of the teams completely owning the field, start winning 3-0, but after the hour mark, the other team stages a superb comeback to tie the game.
- nil-nil draw
- Or it being an unbelivably close game, Arsenal edge by one goal.
_Or, hopefully, A complete rout by the gooners, leaving United wishing they had for fieted the game…..

with such a solid defence with ferdinand nd vidic i really dont see the gunners scoring many goals. And with Rooney and Tevez an amazing partnership upfornt, i do think they will win the game for us.
Bare in mind arsenal have made sum shocking mistakes in their defence this season to some lesser opponents relying on late goals to level or win the game!!!
the game will end 0-1 to man utd
or 0-2
win or draw for utd!!!

this is pointless
i just scrolled down this whole board, and not a single poster made sense. everyone shouted out a scoreline and a string of curses. this goes both ways. please, whoever comes next, whether a united or arsenal fan, please put some GOOD reasons, not just ____ are terrible, etc.
I’m going to say united 3-2, and whoever comes next, disagree, but please dont just say im wrong and *&^% me, etc… make a point.
Why 3-2 united?
REASONS:
1. Rooney and Tevez are on form, with 9 goals in the last 5 games, they are deadly and effective.
2. Ronaldo has hit a good scoring run, correct me if im wrong but 6 in the last 6.
3. Rio, Vidic centerbacks, with Evra and Brown on the sides, and Van Der Sar in goal kept a huge # of clean sheats in early season. Now that all are back from injury, and Vidic and Van Der Sar have 2 decent games under their belts again, they will probably continue their form. United have conceded 4 goals in the EPL so far, so to say that they will concede 2 more to Arsenal’s awe-inspiring offense is generous in Arsenal’s favor.
4. Hargreaves is back from injury. This guy hasn’t played many games in a row, but the few games he has have been consistently high quality. He has already had 4 or so Man of the Match performances, out of maybe 6-7 appearances. Many said that until Liverpool’s defensive midfielder got injured, Fabregas, the engine behind Arsenal, was contained very well. Hargreaves should be able to match this remarkable feat.
5. Anderson is playing spectacular. This wonderkid has stepped it up, and maybe United’s long term answer to Fabregas. While the latter has more EPL experience, Anderson has adapted astoundingly fast. He has shown the potential to match the Spanish wizard’s achievements, except for goalscoring. However, this trait was not associated with with Fabregas till this season, and Anderson has a year to magically improve in similar fashion to the young Gunner. Since Anderson has been starting, United have scored 4 goals in 4 consecutive games… which might not be coincidence.
—
However, Fabregas has been spectacular. Both in playmaking and in scoring. I believe Hargreaves can shut down most of his game. This doesn’t take him out of the picture, and I think he will pitch in a goal.
—
So, I believe that United will win 3-2.
I think Rooney will put in a goal around 25 minutes, after an intense first bit with chances at both ends.
At around 40 minutes, Arsenal will push to equalize before the break, but they will overcommit and conced again on a break with rooney ronaldo and tevez sprinting upfield 3 v 2.
half time
Arsenal will make another push to get even, and this wil be dangerous and they risk conceding another, but alumnia or whatever will come up with a big save.
Around 55 min, fabregas will score a brilliant goal, beating hargreaves who lacks complete match fitness. Probably coming from about 25 yards out.
This gives Arsenal confidence, who pick up the passing and dominate for 10 minutes, till a quick breakaway gives Rooney his second goal against the tide of play.
From the 65th minute onward, United hold the upper hand, playing a little bit defensive, they try to hold on for a win.
At around around 85 minutes, a defensive lapse (probably ferdinand, lol) gifts a goal to abedayor.
An intense five minutes follows, where Arsenal pester Van Der Sar with a lot of shots. He comes up with two big saves to deny a late equalizer.
In injury time, Rooney makes a last attempt for a hat trick, narrowly firing over the bar from 18 yards.
Full time.
—
Do I actually think the game will go like this? no. but, if i had to guess, this is my prediction
3-2 United.
Rooney 25, 65
Ronaldo 40
Fabregas 55
Abedayor 85
Now, if any Arsenal wants to disagree, go ahead. BUT PLEASE DO NOT JUST SHOUT CURSES AND SAY IM WRONG, MAKE A LOGICAL ARGUEMENT.
Im trying to restore some civility to this board. I applaud any fan on either side who makes a legitimate response.

why punctuation is useful?
example:
1) Man: U suck!!
2) Man, u suck!!
3) Man U suck!!

I don’t think there will lots of goals, both MU and Arsenal have very good defenses, and I think both teams have about the same level, so I will say:
Arsenal 1-1 MU

When we defeated Man U twice last season, they were at the top of the table and certainly they were on top form. But nevertheless, we still defeated them. So, it is stupid to say that Arsenal will now succumb to Man U’s “hot streak” or “top form” as a weaker Arsenal defeated a “hot” Man U team last season. Furthermore, this year’s situation is the same but Man U’s gonna face an even better Arsenal side. Man U certainly has a few changes in the side but I doubt that will make them even more stronger than last season.
I would predict a comfortable 2-0 win for Arsenal, with goals coming from Eduardo and Hleb.
Logical Arsenal Fan.

Win or lose Manchester United are going to be the Champs
But my prediction are Man U 1 – Arsenal 0 or 0 – 0
95% will be a win to Man United
4% will be a draw
1% will be a bad game and arsenal will win
Arsenal won the last two games we played in the last season but we WON the ******
we always stop arsenal when there in a hot streak remember this Score 4 – 2
it was going to be your 50th unbeaten game !!!!!!
MANCHESTER UNITED RULES

Well from my own humble point of view, it will be a boring game in the first 25 minutes, then things will start to pick up.. none of the two teams wanna lose so they will start the game cautiously, too cautious actually..
Ronaldo will create a couple of chances at the beginning, then u won’t see him on the pitch except in real TEAMWORK.. not the game for his usual stuff i presume..
anyway i hope the Gunners make it, but if they don’t its gonna be a pleasure watching it
Arsenal 3-1 | November 3rd, 2007 @ 10:16 am

Going for a Man U win tonight at Old Trafford. But with United leaking goals, an away goal for Arsenal could be crucial in the 2nd leg at the Emirates! Hoping for a barca v utd final!
