Both sides had plenty of chances but Chelsea lost more points when they ended with a 0-0 draw. John Terry suffered a fractured cheekbone and Didier Drogba was sent-off for a second bookable offence in the second-half.
Manchester City 3-1 Newcastle United
Manchester City turned the game when they recovered from a goal down. Obefami gave the visitors the lead but Martin Petrov, Emile Mpenza and Elano turned the game to their side.
Birmingham City 0-1 Manchester United
Another minimum result for ManUtd yet another 3 points grabbed. In the first half B’Ham dominated the game but Manchester United improved the game in the second half. Ronaldo’s goal came in the 55th minute and it was the only difference between the 2 sides.
Derby County 1-1 Bolton Wanderers
Kenny Miller gave the home side a 19th minute lead but Nicolas Anela equalised on the half-hour mark.
An amazing game with 11 goals in total gave Portsmouth a win. Mrawuwari scored a hatrick for Portsmouth with Hreidarrson, Krancjar, Davis and Muntari (penalty) scoring the others. For Reading the scorers were Hunt, Kitson, Long and Shorey (penalty).
Sunderland 1-2 Blackburn
Two goals in 3 second half minutes from Bentley and Santa Cruz gave Blackburn an away from home win. Leadbitter scored late for the home side (Reading).
Not a convincing win for Liverpool but thanks to Benayoun they grabbed a win away from home. This goal was his debut goal.
Another minimum win, but Van Persie’s early goal gave what Arsenal were playing for.
Everton 2-0 Middlesbrough
Early Lescott’s goal and Piennar outside of the boot’s pass goal gave the win for the home side.
