1-0, 2-0, 2-1, 2-2, 3-2…
David James made some terrible mistakes but I’m not even gonna talk about Markus Hahnemann…

Ten Things We Learned from The Premiership This Week 09.30.07 - England - The Offside - Soccer News and Opinion from leagues around the world | September 30th, 2007 @ 7:02 pm | | |
[...] This week?s Premiership goings on lacked the drama and intrigue of last week, but that?s probably a good thing. The ins and outs at Stamford Bridge gave us plenty to talk (and, of course, blog) about but in the end it?s all a bit tawdry and takes the spotlight off what happens on the field, which is where all the drama is supposed to be. So big thanks to Portsmouth and Reading then for staging an incredible game of football. [...]

[...] England, the story of the weekend was perhaps Portsmouth and Reading?s ludicrously endearing 11 goal tangle at Fratton Park, in which the home side ran out 7-4 winners. Since I switched away from Match of the Day briefly [...]

What a game this was! Both teams were superb in attack but the defending was shambolic – to put it kindly.
Both keepers had horror moments when rushing out needlessly but that should not detract from the excitement that the game provided.
Also Portsmouth look like challenging for European place but Reading are having lots of problems so far this season.

Why were 0.3 points shaved off the ratings and voting closed on this video but not others older than it?
Think people were missing their Madrids and Arsenals in any ranking involving football :-?

The amazing thing is that since this game Pompey have only conceded 6 goals at home (in 12 games). Two of those were in one game against Birmingham. I think the moral of the discussion is that football can throw up some funny old results :)
