I play football and I watch football, and I do both cause I love the game. But when I watch a game of football, I want to be entertained…and entertaining was to see beckham put an inch perfect ball onto van nistelrooy’s head at real, and watching van nistelrooy score a world class goal…in a world class league…against the best players in the world. Beckham has the ability to do that, he is that good…why go to a sub standard league? its gonna do nothing but bring him down.

as for making football bigger in the US, have you ever had a look at the other players that have made appearances in the league? The most recognised being Pele? And did you see Pele’s interview a few weeks ago? He pretty much said that Beckham is kidding himself if he thinks that he will make football in the US take off or whatever. Beckham went there cause he had a rubbish start to his final season at real. Then he started dominating, but he had already signed with Galaxy so he couldn’t pull out…plus his wife was sick of not being in the limelight and wanted to go the amercia where she could a ****** reality tv show….

Go stroke your underwhelming European ego somewhere else. Always the same killjoys around. As if anyone stated MLS would be dominant in less than 15 years of existence. Go soothe your own Old World ego some other place. That or help your cowardly Europe help itself in other places. Pathetic.

For so many years Beckham has been playing in europe at a very high level and he prby wanted a change in his life. Maybe u guys are thinking his just went there for the money and u cud say life style there is waaay sweeterrr than in europe. In reality (other than a fans perspective) a player makes a decision in his life whereby it cud affect his reputation in not only his career but all aspects of his life. They have taken that responsibility and are trying to achieve the goals they have come out there to accomplish. So really i wouldn’t say its waste of talent but an endeavour to make football as they say in europe to become more internationally recognized within the US. As they say “football is universal”.

True say Ben, Beckham can play at a much better and more credible level than the MLS, and now that his England career has revived, the constant trvel will do him no good, both for club and country.

I was never having a go at the MLS…I was having a go at Beckham. I agree the MLS is young and shouldn’t be expected to be as good as europe, and it clearly isn’t as good as europe…not even close. So you gotta ask yourself..why is a world class player like Beckham (who can dominate in the Spanish league) playing in the ****** American league? What a waste of talent!!!
