Beckham is booed by fans

Apperantly the Americans or at least the LA Galaxy fans do not understand a simple fact that if a player is injured…he can’t be expected to play!.I understand the frustration by some fans as they paid up to $USD120 for a ticket in the recent game between Toronto FC and LA Galaxy which by the way ended in a 0-0 draw but than again BECKHAM is injured…let him heal and give him some time before he starts showing what he’s made of, i don’t think Becks will be bothered too much though as he has had a fair share of bad times in his playing career but one thing for sure is that he has bounced back from all those bad times, most recently winning the La Liga on the final day with Real Madrid and eing recalled to the England squad.
One fan wore a T-shirt saying: “David Beckham is rubbish” while others held placards complaining about spending 120 dollars (£60) for a game which did not feature Major League Soccer’s marketing sensation.
On Saturday, Beckham said he cannot put weight on the ankle or turn without pain and is at least 10 days from being able to start.

I think the americans overrate beckham.
They think he will score 5 goals per game or what…
How great shall the dissapointment bee when they see him play.

I play football and I’ve sprained my ankle so I know exactly what he is feeling, the fans are retarded for being so impatient. Dekilo, he obviously won’t score 5 goals a game, but I think he will set up some nice goals through assists.

first off id like to say that the game was held in canada, not the US (kwn). and of course there will be fans that boo him as there would be anywhere else, even if he didnt have a sprained ankle. and besides, anyone would be annoyed if they werent able to see a superstar play after more than half a years worth of hype, even european fans

The guy is injured, give him a break… if he was faking it then we’d have something to complain about.

first off, like boo9 said, it was canada, whoever wrote this is a bit reterded eh.
second off, we boo all opposing players and team, what kind of loser fan is not going to support the home team. The vast majority of the boos were directed at landon diving donovan. In fact when he took the one corner they got, he was pelted with a pile of pink streamers (pink was chosen specifically for donovan and not for beckham) so many in fact his corner was delayed for over a minute. This is football, not entertainment tonight, stop being so sensitive.

For those non-Americans that think we Yankees overrate Beckham or whatever, you are wrong. Most Americans do not overrate him – or underrate him… nobody cares. It’s sad, but Beckham isn’t gonna change things here in the States. People just do not like soccer, and that sucks.
