Reports are in that Gabriel Heinze flew to the Spanish capital on Saturday to discuss a move to Real Madrid after failing to hold down a regular place at Old Trafford and with Madrid wanting to replace the 33-year-old Roberto Carlos in their left-back position.
Heinze has also been a target for Italian giants Juventus but the departure of coach Didier Deschamps from the Turin club could scupper that possibility.
Nani To Spurs or Utd?
Meanwhile an interesting tug of war is at hand as Man Utd and Spurs are interested in signing Sporting Lisbon’s Nani for £12million.
Nani recently turned down a new Sporting deal, and told The Daily Mirror: “Sporting know my opinion about this subject. If an offer arrives which offers a good opportunity then I want to talk about it.
He has in the past stated his desire to play in the Premiership with Man Utd and linked up with old buddy Cristiano Ronaldo, Utd on paper have the better chance to grab the talented portugese but than again United has let many players slipped by their hands before….
Just in case you haven’t heard of the guy before here’s a video:
I don’t think the video does much justice though, he has similar skill set to Cristiano ROnaldo but it’s not shown much in this video, but at least you get a glimpse.

Borussia Dortmund’s 26-year-old centre-back Christoph Metzelder is set to leave the club and join the likes of Cannavaro and Sergio Ramos at Real Madrid.
I think this is a positive move by Madrid and maybe it would also mean less playing time for Cannavaro or maybe he’ll just head back to Juventus who have been promoted back to Serie A and with Marcello Lippi tipped to be their next manager.
“Christoph Metzelder will go to Real Madrid next season and we are looking for another defender to replace him,” Doll told German television channel DSF.

Sepp Blatter, Fifa’s president has praised Manchester United for calling off their controversial tour match against a Malaysian XI in Kuala Lumpur on July 27.
I for one am not happy at all, i was highly anticipating a visit by the Premiership champions, but i guess what is done is done.
‘I compliment Manchester United on their decision not to go there. Their other matches on the tour in Japan, Macau and Korea will go ahead. Those matches do not conflict with any Asian Cup matches,’ Blatter told a news conference in Zurich.

Interesting news coming out of Los Angeles Galaxy coach Frank Yallop who says that even though Becks has been recalled to the England squad and Newcastle boss Sam Allardyce stating an interest to bring Becks back to the Premiership when the MLS season ends in November he will not let Becks go, instead Beckham will take a deserved holiday.
But Yallop told Sky Sports News: “He won’t be going on loan anywhere. He’ll be taking a break at that point and getting ready for our pre-season.
“He’s shown he’s a world-class player, he doesn’t need to go back and go on loan anywhere.”
Yallop believes Beckham’s performances will make it difficult for McClaren to drop him again.
Now, every inch of me wants to believe that Becks will be back in the Premiership but it really isn’t likely because the guy does need a holiday, he’s been playing for Real Madrid and than in the summer for LA Galaxy.
