Liverpool’s owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett will get a chance to put their words into action and make a bid for Lyon’s Florent Malouda after manager Rafa Benitez’s statement that Malouda is on his list of transfer targets.
The likes of Craig Bellamy, Sami Hyypia, Harry Kewell, John Arne Riise, Robbie Fowler, Mark Gonzalez, Bolo Zenden, Jerzy Dudek and Scott Carson are surplus to requirements in Benitez mind.
Sevilla’s Daniel Alves of Sevilla, Gabriel Milito of Real Zaragoza and Barcelona’s star striker Samuel Eto’o are said to be Rafa’s other targets this summer.

The news that Owen Hargreaves will sign for United soon has encouraged the Old Trafford faithfull but Sir Alex Ferguson is shifting attention now to Ajax’s Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.
Huntelaar has scored a hugely impressive 60 goals in 74 appearances at the Amsterdam ArenA.
Ferguson will be particularly impressed with the striker’s efforts in Europe, bagging nine goals in nine Champions League and UEFA Cup games.
But the Manchester Evening News reports that Sir Alex also has a back-up plan to rope in Heerenveen’s Alfonso Alves who also has an impressive record, topping the Dutch scoring charts with 34 goals in 31 games, which included a remarkable five hat-tricks.

Derby County will join Sunderland & Birmingham in the Premiership next season after beating West Bromwich Albion 1-0 thanks to a 61st minute winner from Stephen Pearson.
It continued a remarkable turn-around in fortunes for the Rams who 12 months ago finished 20th in the Coca-Cola Championship and flirted with relegation for much of the 2005-2006 campaign.
Manager Billy Davies has transformed the club since arriving from Preston last summer in place of Phil Brown.
Congrats to Derby although i personally would have wanted Wolverhampton or Southampton in the Prem.
