Loading ...The news that Owen Hargreaves will sign for United soon has encouraged the Old Trafford faithfull but Sir Alex Ferguson is shifting attention now to Ajax’s Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.
Huntelaar has scored a hugely impressive 60 goals in 74 appearances at the Amsterdam ArenA.
Ferguson will be particularly impressed with the striker’s efforts in Europe, bagging nine goals in nine Champions League and UEFA Cup games.
But the Manchester Evening News reports that Sir Alex also has a back-up plan to rope in Heerenveen’s Alfonso Alves who also has an impressive record, topping the Dutch scoring charts with 34 goals in 31 games, which included a remarkable five hat-tricks.
