Milan gained revenge for their 2005 Champions League final defeat at the hands of Liverpool as they lifted the trophy in Athens with a 2-1 victory.

Highlights

45' Kaka goes down easily on the edge of the penalty area and Alonso is penalised. A dangerous position, 24 yards out and central, and Andrea Pirlo's free-kick is deflected past Reina by Inzaghi and into the middle of the net. The striker knew nothing about it, a complete fluke but Milan have the lead against the run of play

82' Kaka threds a precise ball through to Inzaghi who tucks the ball under the advancing Reina to win the Champions League for Milan.

89' A glimmer for Liverpool as a corner is flicked on by Carragher and Kuyt nods home from close range. A hint of offside but it sets up an exciting conclusion.

liverpool didnt deserve it more than milan i dont think especially in the second half, and the second half is always the half that counts
anyway gerrard sucked, and least kaka did do 1 or 2 sweet tricks

liverpool does't have talent players as kaka & inzaghi. They didn't konw how to score.
Milan is much more brilliant.
Kuyt's goal doen't exsit,obviously offside.
3-0 should be fair enough.

Liverpool is the greatest. They played better overall, but the result stands. But it was disgusting to watch Inzaghi, who basically lives offside, running around as if he deserved that handball of a goal.
But props to Kaka for his beastliness.

overall good gme, liverpool players played txt bk stlye footy, milan had greater skill, inzaghi's dangerous on the edge as fergy had once said "inzaghi was born offside!"

the kuyt goal did count because it hit off the milan defender last meaning that the he was not offsides and the goal would stand. stupid milan fans

The point is when liverpoor's no.5 hits the ball ( before milan's defender hit the ball) Kuyt is already offside( maybe 2or 3 meters) .

the first goal was most definately not fluke. inzaghi had his eyes on the ball all the time and followed the trail of the ball to deflect it
